This is one of many reasons I do not follow any religion. The goal post gets moved when specific questions are asked and the answers are all over the place. One basically gets convoluted, jumbled answers that are even more confusing and contradictory. The word salad master: Jordan Peterson.

Why did the moderator insist on ending on masturbation just as the debate was getting interesting

10:00 this is it, ive found it. This is the reason why peterson doesn't let go of religion. He thinks (and knows from all the studies in iq) that most people are too stupid to follow what's right from wrong. He thinks we need the big daddy in the sky dictating what to do. He clearly doenst believe in religion that's why he goes in these senseless ramblings everytime he's asked. And since he's sooo smart he made it his job to indoctrinate the poor dumb creatures. Note that this not only applies to sex ed but many other aspects of human life.

IQ has nothing to do with morality. People with very low IQs live perfectly moral lives, as do animals with even lower IQ and evolutionary complexity than humans - they protect their young, they socialise, they have emotional intelligence.

Peterson reveals all with his reaction to the crowd. Ultimately he is very thin skinned and that has driven his attitude in recent years.

Sad what religion can do to believers brains.

Treat everyone with kindness, light some incense and hum a little song. How's that for a religion for all? No need for a priori, implicit, interpretive structures to guide our interactions with the facts. Or pretending that a man died and then came back to life for some reason, or at all.

Imagine being behind this guy in the line to order food. 😳
Morals are 100% subjective and come from multiple places such as your upbringing, the part of the world you were born in, the era you were born in, your personal feelings. There is no singular source for morals.
@lazloholt26218 күн бұрын
@oberyquarles1586 the origin of morals isn't really that difficult. The problem is that even if we couldn't answer it, people are not justified in plugging in their supernatural answers just because they can't be satisfied by no answer
@oberyquarles158618 күн бұрын
@ thanks I didn’t think it was that difficult
@lazloholt26218 күн бұрын
@oberyquarles1586 I wasn't trying to condescend. I'm just saying that the question "where do morals come from?" is typically asked by theists in response to an atheists lack of belief in a god and I'm trying to point out that while the question is a good one, someone cannot appeal to the supernatural as an answer without first demonstrating that the supernatural is even possible

I like Peterson, but it seems to me that he contributes a whole lot to discussion but with the goal of not committing to any view against another.

What ends up happening in just about every debate with an atheist is they just make some slick remark about how religion is bad and they get applause from people that don’t like religion. The problem is how religion is talked about. All Sam does after that is start claiming things like reason and rationality are on his side and people will agree. In another debate between them Jordan kept pressing Sam on how we decide what is reasonable and rational and Sam could not give a solid answer. At that point you are basically just doing exactly what atheists criticize religious people about, you’re just believing your opinions about what is right and wrong are better than someone else’s. God or no god doesn’t change the fact that atheists need faith to push their opinions on what is right, wrong, reasonable, etc.

No! & there is absolutely no evidence of that whatsoever. However, if that story is reinforced via believing it, then, it becomes real to whoever reinforced that story. This is how everything works! The truth is very but very painful & is the only pain that the body should interact with. Not, suffering!
