I liked this show. It was really fascinating when they burned the giant board and there were no rules. "they all went a little bit crazy." It was supposed to be kids creating a "new society" better than adults, but when the rules went out the window, they acted like crazed anarchists. AKA kids.

A lot of this is way over-exaggerated. One of the children spoke out on Reddit. Things were not as bad for the children as this snowflake is making it out to be. Catered lunches, wildlife experts, 150 crew members constantly supervising. It wasn’t this bad.

This is by far NOT EVEN CLOSE to the worst reality show ever made. Like it's not even in the top 50 worst reality shows. It's bad...but at least it had a coherent concept and was fairly watchable. Also, the drama that was introduced by the producers to spice things up was modulated by the...unique way kids see the world, making the result rather endearing. Adults play-acting in "reality shows" is just dumb, but with kids, it's just like make-believe, and they commit to the bit...and seeing that, clashing with the cynicism of the older kids (i.e. teenagers) made for some awesome TV. It's too bad the second season of this got canned (and that New Mexico fixed their child labour laws so that the show as conceived was now illegal in EVERY state of the union), because I was curious where they would take the concept.

@@politelypolite4835 Oh, I didn't say it was moral. Just that it was good TV. However, a lot of the kids in the show have given interviews in the years since it aired basically saying they had a blast and would do it all over again (and some expressed disappointment that it got cancelled). So...Ima take their word for it that it wasn't nearly as bad as some people are claiming. Should it be allowed (as it was originally-conceived)? Probably not. But a lot of things that were fun for kids in days gone by are not allowed anymore. Doesn't mean those things weren't good...just that the risk of getting sued was too great to let them continue existing. Like...Jarts. And those old 1950s chemistry for kids experiment kids that contained uranium (among other things).

@@politelypolite4835 Like OP said, many of the kids who participated in the show have since said that it was a good experience and they'd do it again. If you want a reality show that permanently traumatised kids, look up the "Boys Alone" and "Girls Alone" documentaries that were done in the UK
