It's called *acting*. Not to mention that would be a perfectly legal and normal interaction in the vast majority of the world, including most countries with far lower rates of sexual misconduct and misogyny than the US. You wanna tell millions upon millions of successful, empowered, sexually and mentally healthy women that *actually* you know better than them and they're really traumatised rape victims, because they chose to kiss a guy when they were already old enough to move out, work, join the military and vote? God it must be hard being terrified of the entire world to the degree you are.

Also, 16 is not an age you can do most of those things? you can't join the army or vote in the US at 16. you have to be a legal adult. regardless though. the film industry is very exploitive and child actors do not have near as many protections as they should. nobody is calling her a rape victim. they are just very understandably pointing out that a 16 year old girl that would still be in high school being made to kiss a man that's been a legal adult for 4 whole years is fuckin weird. he was 18 when she was 12. chill.

Ok but I wanna know how the actress who played Yancey felt about being cast as the fat character, where that’s her only character trait and she’s constantly reminded of it and is the butt of every fat joke… poor girl Edit: I hate edits but so many of you seem to think child actors are given a lot of choice? That they make their own decisions? It’s up to the parents and usually they won’t let their kids decline a role. It’s about money for the parents
