Napoleon in exile wrote: But many years later, as he was exiled to the remote island of Saint Helena after having lost the Napoleonic Wars, he wrote down his thoughts on Prophet Muhammad in his memoirs. Since there was no conceivable ulterior motive by this point for him to be saying about Prophet Muhammad what he did not actually believe, the following passage from his memoirs may show his genuine admiration for Prophet Muhammad: “Arabia was idolatrous when Muhammad, seven centuries after Jesus Christ, introduced the cult of the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Moses and Jesus Christ. The Arians and other sects that had troubled the tranquility of the Orient had raised questions concerning the nature of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Muhammad declared that there was one unique God who had neither father nor son; that the trinity implied idolatry. He wrote on the frontispiece of the Qur‘ān: “There is no other god than God.” He addressed savage, poor peoples, who lacked everything and were very ignorant; had he spoken to their spirit, they would not have listened to him. In the midst of abundance in Greece, the spiritual pleasures of contemplation were a necessity; but in the midst of the deserts, where the Arab ceaselessly sighed for a spring of water, for the shade of a palm where he could take refuge from the rays of the burning tropical sun, it was necessary to promise to the chosen, as a reward, inexhaustible rivers of milk, sweet-smelling woods where they could relax in eternal shade, in the arms of divine hūrīs with white skin and black eyes. The Bedouins were impassioned by the promise of such an enchanting abode; they exposed themselves to every danger to reach it; they became heroes. Muhammad was a prince; he rallied his compatriots around him. In a few years, his Muslims conquered half the world. They plucked more souls from the false gods, knocked down more idols, razed more pagan temples in fifteen years, than the followers of Moses and Jesus Christ did in fifteen centuries. Muhammad was a great man.” [8] “Muhammad was a great man.” Boulainvilliers, Rousseau and Pastoret would definitely agree, though none of them are known to have ever practiced Islam. ‘Umar, Khālid, and ‘Amr would definitely agree as well, whether you asked them before they embraced Islam or afterwards. But what do all of them have in common? The answer, I would argue, was their enlightened, which provided them with certain values which shaped their understanding of the life of Prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam). They lived during periods of uncertainty and major social and intellectual shake-ups of society. The Frenchmen all lived during the Enlightenment, and so they challenged the traditional way of thinking about Prophet Muhammad using their shifting values (a shift towards objectivity when studying history, for example). The Arabs, for their part, were all relatively young at the time of the dawn of Islam, and therefore were not as caught up in the traditions of pre-Islamic Arabia as their elders were, so they challenged the traditional way of thinking about Prophet Muhammad as well, using their own shifting values (a shift from tribal identity to faith-based identity, for example). www.gutenberg.org/files/3567/3567-h/3567-h.htm

@@Realtycheck37 The Islamic Golden Age too was a period of remarkable intellectual and cultural growth in the history of the Islamic world, roughly spanning from the 8th to the 13th century. One of its most prominent centers was the city of Baghdad, which played a pivotal role in fostering this era of enlightenment. Here are some key aspects of Baghdad and the Islamic Golden Age: 1. House of Wisdom: The House of Wisdom (Bayt al-Hikma) was a major intellectual center in Baghdad during the Abbasid Caliphate. It served as a hub for scholars, translators, and scientists from various backgrounds and cultures. Their work included translating ancient Greek, Roman, Indian, and Persian texts into Arabic, which helped preserve and advance knowledge. 2. Advancements in Science and Medicine: During this period, Islamic scholars made significant contributions to various fields, including mathematics, astronomy, medicine, chemistry, and optics. Notable figures like Al-Khwarizmi, known for his foundational work in algebra, and Ibn Sina (Avicenna), a prominent philosopher and physician, made pioneering discoveries. 3. Preservation of Classical Knowledge: Islamic scholars played a crucial role in preserving and transmitting the works of ancient Greek philosophers and scientists like Aristotle, Euclid, and Ptolemy. These texts were later reintroduced to Europe during the Renaissance, having a profound impact on Western thought. 4. Cultural Flourishing: The Islamic Golden Age wasn't limited to science alone. It also saw advancements in literature, poetry, architecture, and the arts. Persian and Arabic literature, in particular, thrived during this period, with epic poets like Omar Khayyam and the celebrated "One Thousand and One Nights." Throughout history, it is undeniable that Muslims have made the most substantial contributions to science, which continue to impact modern societies significantly.

I've just discovered that Isaac Newton held a belief in monotheism, emphasizing a singular God, and he rejected the notion of a Trinity. Additionally, it's fascinating to learn that Napoleon was associated with the Islamic faith. These revelations are a testament to our expanding understanding of history, as we uncover new layers of information that challenge conventional narratives. It's an exciting time as we broaden our perspectives on the beliefs and influences of influential figures from the past.

Like Adolf Hitler, Napoleon marked his time with millions of civilian deaths and the reestablishment of slavery. Great initiator of colonization, he is the direct respondent of the colonial policy of Europe in Africa and the Middle East of the 19th century and its sequences. A great opponent of Catholicism, he attempted to create a state religion that supplanted Catholicism and established various legal measures to muzzle the Church or replace it. The best known of these measures is the Civil Code which it serves in all its Muslim colonies in France. A great manipulator, he is Christian with Christians, Jewish with Jews and Muslim with Muslims. Colonial, racist, deceitful and anticlerical.

Napoleon was literally a Christian Z10nist. Read his letter from 1799 and from August, 16, 1800, Napoleon declared: “If I governed a nation of J-ws, I should reestablish the Temple of Solomon.” And he elaborates further on the point of giving them Palestine etc.

Upon viewing your vlog, it became apparent that nobody, especially Egyptian scholars, tried to elucidate the core tenets of Islam to him. Offering a simple explanation of the Shahadah and extending an invitation for him to recite it could have been a crucial gesture, especially if he sincerely professed to be a Muslim.

If Allah wanted Napoleon to become a Muslim he would have become one. That could have backfired on the Muslim world.as Napoleon could have used the fact he was a Muslim as an excuse to invade the whole Caliphate and replace the Ottomans with a European French controlled Caliphate. Potentially turning the Caliphate into a European White Superemercist regime doing the same thing to the Muslim.world as what the French did to Africa expect as Muslims

Another beautiful and informative vlog by Br. Paul!👏👏👏. Whatever little I have read about his life in exile on the island portrayed him as a crazy, insane and some one who had gone completely nuts after losing power. Your piece / author of the book show that Napoleon still had his sanity to be able to write his book that he did during his exile.

Napoleon is a politician and therefore he simply flattered the muslim by speaking of their religion. He's not a moslem napoleon. When he conquered in Egypt and claimed being Muslim and tried to convince them ... because there's a condition in Islam about ruler or king ets they have to obey him a Muslim ruler it doesn't matter a bad or good Muslim ruler Anyway napoleon He's a smart guy at end it's failed So he conquered in Egypt when he got controlled in everything then he showed He's real face . He went to azhar scholar mosque with He's horse inside the mosque and began to insult and criticism and irony . This is the real napoleon. No wonder he failed at end

_______________________________________________________________

Christians follow the teachings of Paul the Apostle and the church fathers, not the teachings of Jesus, the son of Mary. Paul the Apostle created Christianity to destroy the monotheism that Jesus Christ brought Jesus Christ was calling people to worship one God and the doctrine of monotheism, but Paul the Apostle came and created the doctrine of the Trinity and destroyed monotheism

In one narration in Sahih Bukhari is mentioned that the last ones to be saved from the fire by God after the Messenger asked Him for, are those who said in their life La ilaha illa Allah. The hadith is very long, here is the last part. ‘O Muhammad, raise your head. Speak and intercession will be granted to you, ask and you will be given, intercede and your intercession will be accepted.’ I will say, ‘O Lord, give me permission (to bring forth) all those who said La ilaha ill-Allah.’ He will say, ‘By My Might, My Majesty, My Supremacy and My Greatness, I will most certainly bring forth from it those who said La ilaha ill-Allah.’” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari, 7510).

@BloggingTheology. Hi, thank you for the time and effort you have used to produce and pass this knowledge on. I've learnt much. I'd like to kindly share a small but relevant point regrading a word you used incorrectly in relation to verse from the Quran. @ 15:49 you used the word "believers" rather than the correct word "humankind" or "Insaan" in the natural language. Quran, 50:16; Indeed, it is We Who created humankind and ˹fully˺ know what their souls whisper to them, and We are closer to them than ˹their˺ jugular vein. All thanks and praises are due to Allah, The Most High. Dear Humankind, peace for Earth and its inhabitants. Peace and blessings be upon the Prophets and Messengers of The All knowing, The Most High, The Most Great. Thank you Paul, Best regards.

Enjoyed listening to this one, Napoleon ranks as one of the greatest military commanders of all time, not for the last time it was russia and the russians who took the wind out of his sail, he is a fascinating character with a planet sized ego, although not a muslim he sounds like a christian unitarian as isaac newton was, we would have no difficulty in recognising and endorsing their view of God/Allah, even though they may not be muslims in the official sense.
