I'm not sure if we know where the armor is right now, but I do like the idea of Garlan Tyrell facing off against Euron in some way, each in their sets of magical plate. Garlan is a great character, though I doubt that he'd be expecting the arcane horrors Euron will surely bring

The myth of lightbringer to me is instruction on making valyrian steel. Hammered and folded with spells and sacred flames for 100 days (possibly 100 folds) and only human sacrifice will quench the blade and make it successful. I think itd be ironic that the most closely guarded and lost secret had its recipe in the most well known myth.

I honestly never thought that much of Renlys armour. I just thought it was a clever tactic by the Tyrells to cause confusion amongst Stannis' troops. Its a really interesting theory that I really like

I don't know if it's enchanted, but Sandor's hound helm is symbolically linked because it's being worn by others, making people think they saw the original owner

Great video! Also, regarding Tobho Mott's necklace. I find it curious how it's described as being the size of a pigeon's egg, when Bloodraven's (Maynard Plumm) brooch is described as being the size of another bird's: A hen's egg. Tobho is definitely more than he seems.

Great work. I loved the essay. I dont think I have heard this theory before but I think you're on to something. I liked Renly, even though he was wrong for trying to usurp the throne. I do think he would have been a very good ruler though. RIP.

Never thought of this before, defiantly a possibility when you consider other potentially enchanted and epic sets throughout the series, think of Euron Greyjoy's valyrian plate armour or even Oathkeeper and Widows Wail. You are setting off so many chain reactions in my brain with this one! Oh and the glamour magik around the Lord of Bones' set of bonemail! George's subtlety is so far off the charts its incredible.

What an interesting take. I never thought about enchanted armor but I agree that it suits the books theme quite well. All I heard about Renlys armor before was the crackpot theory that Renly wasn't really killed by a shadow but instead his armor was rigged by the Florents with a mechanism to kill him.

Really enjoyed this video! Would love to convince you to do a video with me exploring my theory that Jaqen H’ghar = Aegon VI. I can send you the long explanations of this, but in short Rhaegar acted to protect his older son Aegon being held hostage w Elia by the Mad King exactly like Rhaegar’s younger son Jon did with Mance’s baby. He had them switched. Arthur Dayne missed Robert’s Rebellion (until he turned up afterward at the Tower of Joy) bc Rhaegar sent him to Braavos with the real Aegon VI where he made a deal with the Faceless men and gave the baby to them to raise, similar to how Arya’s companion at the House of Black and White, the waif, was also given to them to be raised as a child by her father as part of a deal. Jaqen has come back at the start of our story as the faceless but real heir as king to protect and save Arya, which he does (similar to how Rhaegar protected and saved Lyanna from his father who wanted her dead and Robert Baratheon who was going to marry her against her will being forced by her family), and to kill the Lannisters in revenge (note he suggests and offers to Arya on his own initiative to kill Joffrey, Cersei, and Tywin for her, when the Faceless Men are supposed to charge a fortune for one kill like this), and to fight the battle for the Dawn secret and safe from assassination himself bc he’s the assassin! The assassin is none other than the true king himself in disguise.

This video is brilliant. I have a theory that I don’t even think it’s very far fetched and it’s probably not even the first time anyone’s thought of it. The missing ingredient to create Valyrian steel is dragon fire. It’s dragon fire forged and quenched in the heart of a living being. Maybe the stronger the being or the closer the bond with them the stronger and more magical sword. I’m drawing a lot from Azaor Ahai and the forging of light bringer. Maybe what made it so special was that it was forged quenched in the heart of someone meaningful and not a random slave. And that’s why they can’t make Valyrian steel anymore. No dragons. Or maybe it isn’t the dragon FIRE but the general magic that increases when there are dragons in the world. I refuse to believe that they aren’t connected tbh. And if I’m right just imagine what a sword quenched in the heart of a dragon could do

That was great! I have no idea if Renly had enchanted armor and given how many plotlines about missing/magical things that are still open I'm not sure if we'll ever find out but you're right it's an interesting idea to think about.

Also we need to talk about how George wrote all these interesting, handsome and mysterious gay characters in his novels while the show decided to pay them dust. Honestly theres flaws of representation in the book too, but at least you could tell George put as much effort into these characters like any other. I was so excited for Loras and Renly screentime but then was so disappointed with how shallow and rushed their story seemed to be

I was actually thinking earlier about the Valyrian steel ingredients. One of the main theories is that dragon fire was used to light the forge. (Not really a theory at this point tbh.) But I was always under the impression that dragonfire was used on the steel itself. As in, not to light the forge, but AS a forge. Perhaps that’s a secret little trick?

In the books,In Jon I,it is noted Benjen's fine black attire and his heavy silver chain...a Night's watch Ranger...why is he even wearing adornment? Just curious,your opinion...?

Renley's?! And Valarr's..well, Valarr's helm when Baelor gets killed. BUT Renley was having his gorget put on him when he gets killed, right? Well-it is Hugh of the Vale who also has a fatal gorget issue. And Qohor...this name. There is a Qohor related fam in Dorne, and then at Harrenhall. The one from Harrenhall is ALSO from Dragonstone. They were WITH the Targaryens when they invade-Orys's mom was from THIS family on Dragonstone. THAT name ALSO seems related to Mysaria from way back as well. Looking at the sea Vals here. THEY caused the Doom of Valyria...with HER. Sheescaped/ran to the Targaryens in text for protection. OK-The Armor matters-lowkey in text, they are looting magical armor bits and gems/coins from eyeballs, rubies from blood-they literally loot corpses like you do in a game. Rubies ARE dragon blood in text. Just like the red amber is ALSO petrified blood from a weirwood. In text...the ghostly glow and wild fire? THAT is what wild fire does to you-it makes one a wraith. The Windblown-look at them in text! It isn't ALL foreshadowing-it is a kind of future memory. A lot of these dreams/visions are memories. There are vampires in text and were wolves. There are plagues and the air is bad almost EVERYWHERE. The skies are on fire on some places. When these books open, almost everyone is already DEAD. I could really get into it lol..but man. I am so glad you can SEE that there is magical armor! The 'magics' in text seems to revolve around intentions. Choices. ALWAYS choices.
