The issue with the set was there wasn’t many decent cards in the set and it was done as a special set but they kept the same pull rates of a main set. Since special sets are harder to get hold of in bulk since there is a lack of a booster box then the pull rates should have been much higher. Don’t mind the current pull rates on main sets but special sets should be higher.

If you're talking about pull rate, this should be how it is. Those are rare care not I just have to get a box and get a SIR. This set got good cards for player and also the dark theme and the AR in this set are great.

@@HellmegaI’m not talking about having a pull rate where you’re guaranteed to get an SIR from just opening 2 or 3 ETB’s. Paldean dates and 151 weren’t like that but they had very good pull rates. The pull rate of the current main sets is about 1 SIR in about 72 packs and it should be more like 1 in 45 packs like the other special sets. Packs for special sets are more expensive and harder to get in bulk so warrants a better pull rate than a main set. Most KZbinrs have the same opinion that shrouded fables pull rate is terrible and should be better.

The only thing ruining Pokémon at the moment is the pull rates it is pricing future generations out of the game whether as collectors or tournament players. People are not gonna keep ploughing money into packs and collection boxes that are full of commons which triplicate our existing pulls. Don’t even get started on the extras in the collection boxes and upcs becoming cheaper and none existent.

Pull rates are fine. The issue is the cost of entry. Pokemon is far far more expensive per pack over here than Japan. I’d sooner have less bulk and cheaper packs. Take shrouded Fable. £50 for 9 packs is obsured when I can buy a booster box for £100 with 36 packs.

@@7yourdesires86 That is fixable via pullrates. The same solution is the one you are presenting. If you sell packs lower cost, you have more packs to pull, artifically increasing pulls to get what you want. It's the same thing effectively.

honestly, even for players there's only so many cards you want out of Shrouded Fable. Kyurem, Dusclops, Dusknoir, Fezandipiti ex and Night Stretcher (plus maybe Pecharunt ex and Colress's Tenacity) are the only ones you'd really want, and if you're a player it's prolly cheaper to just buy singles of those than having to buy a whole ETB

When you can't get packs for cheaper like you can with a main set because of booster boxes, then terrible pull rates become even more terrible. How can we justify spending so much for barely getting any hits. And then as others have said, the batching was so bad that even when you did get a hit there was a good chance that you'd be getting a dup. Personally I have like 10 copies of kingdra ex and 1 revavroom ex. I got 5 full arts and three were okidogi. That is way beyond what should be considered acceptable for getting dups.

Been trying to figure out why Earthen Vessel Gold, Gold Darkness Energy and Gold Metal Energy from this set are so much more expensive to buy as singles than ANY other gold rare items/energy we've had in the SV era, I guess this is why, no one is buying it, so no one is opening any, so less available = higher price?

Both energies have places in the meta. Steel a bit less only seeing play in Dialga, Dark for Roaring Moon, but Earthen Vessel is OP as all hell in game, so ppl will do anything for the bling

worth mentioning that in Thailand and Indonesia, Shrouded Fable is indeed lumped into their Stellar Crown equivalent set. unfortunately that makes them release way after Worlds, but at the same time it does make it so that there aren't two sets awkwardly fighting for the same market share in those regions.

I feel like the reason they released it was BECAUSE it was Loyal Three themed. Because Pecharunt and the Loyal Three are counterparts to Ogerpon. Like Ogerpon got its own set (plus Bloodmoon Ursaluna's A set), and if they didn't do Shrouded Fable, They would have been hidden behind Terapagos and Stellar Crown's branding. And the VIBES of Shrouded Fable and Stellar Crown don't really mesh well.

I did find Shrouded Fable underwhelming for someone who goes for master sets. The delay to PC ETBs also didn't help! I jumped on singles very early... pull rates were a joke 😃

Well, here's the thing: Pokemon is the inverse of MTG and Yugioh. A lot more people collect the cards rather than play, so when you get things like ACE Specs taking up rare slots and chase cards featuring non-chase Pokemon... yeah, most people aren't going to be itching for that set. This was definitely a swing and a miss for the Pokemon company

What Im seeing is that Shrouded Fable actually has some awesome content, including peachrant and loyal three system, Kyurem for Rigidrago, and of course the Dusknoir line with their awesome artwork. My only complaint is how Pokemon Com Int publish them. Like the only reason I could think of, for them to make Night Wanderer an individual holiday is WCS. Otherwise, it would be way more reasonable to combine it with stellar miracle instead of putting dogass battle academy ex cards into stellar crown

I actually would like to see all sets be smaller like the shrouded fable set. While that might be an unpopular opinion I think it'd make things more interesting it of itself as well as people could pick and choose a little more if they want a certain set or just certain cards. Also it'd allow for smaller booster boxes much like Japan's (maybe half the size of the current English set booster boxes) which should be cheaper on the wallet and more people would be likely to buy booster boxes (imo) and special sets could also have booster boxes. And sets would be easier to complete if someone wanted to complete a set. The other option for English sets is this could've been lumped into a set for the Kitakami expansion of the game effectively making it a "super" set. Since I believe this would've been the 3rd Japanese set kind of directly relating to that expansion.

Of course it was. Once again Pokemon has shown their greed by splitting what should have been three Kitakami sets in one - TWM, into a lackluster and unneccesary extra 'special' set with very difficult pull rates. Moreover, Stellar Crown is basically Obsidian Flames 2, with one great architype in it and a few cool cards, filled with a whole bunch of catch-up filler cards bulking out the set. The ratio of playable or even just interesting cards to the bulk pile is ridiculous. Whilst I am grateful to be able to collect more great artwork, it's sprawled across simply far too many releases on a schedule that just seems to be getting tighter with each passing year.

I really like this set, its a darker theme set art for AR and SIR are great. This set make me want to build a poison deck. I seen many people saying that the set is bad because the pull rate are low and it dont have a high money card. This is how pull rate should be, that is how "rare" cards should be pull and not open a few box and you already got the rarest card. They should of keep kingdra, greninja and kingambit in the set and have a different promo for it. And maybe a pin set or something to make this set better, look at how many things they put out for champion path. Champ path only got the 2 charizard and dont even have any art cards and also a small set

At the local store the booster bundle is the equivalent of 19.35 GBP after sales tax... with the ETB being in the mid-high 30s. I guess I'm better off with the bundle in my case.

i mean i get it that it had to be released because it was legal in worlds, but the ETBs were also delayed which caused massive problems for people. In my opinion we should have closer simultaneous releases because all of them would have fit the theme of twilight masquerade still without putting these cards in stellar crown which would make no sense. Either that or make it so that Shrouded Fable was not legal for worlds, or maybe better yet don't release a set 2 weeks before worlds that's legal with limited product

The problem I have with the set is that the ex cards are too rare given the size of the set. I shouldn't need to have 6 of every common card and never see a Fezendipiti ex for example. I know that's RNG, but they needed to make ex cards more common.

Out of 14 packs I pulled 2/4 SIR’s and like 3-4 full arts and managed to get to 63% master completion but for it to be a special set was a huge disappointment. Also bought the night wanderer booster box. Killed it with some of the most valuable full arts, and the golden power hourglass but overall there was nothing special about this set beyond the promo cards that was there only really good art cards. Super disappointing especially after sets like paldean fates, 151, crown zenith etc

Shrouded Fable is honestly such a cool set. I haven't really been hyped for a new set since SV Base, but Shrouded Fable brought me that hype again that, before SV Base, I hadn't really felt since the XY era. This set has some AMAZING cards, both in terms of playability and artwork, whether it be the Duskull line, the Loyal Three exs, both versions of Pecharunt, and basically all of the Trainer cards save for maybe one or two. What I HATE about modern sets is that many will judge them entirely on their collectability. 151? Gets HUGE praise because it's Gen 1 nostalgia bait and people can NEVER let go of it. Charizard, Mew, Mewtwo, they literally make entire sets for people. Paldean Fates? People love their shiny Pokemon, so of course people would love it. Shrouded Fable though? This isn't a mini set for collectors, it's more for players if anything, and THAT'S why I think it isn't doing well. The past 4-5 years, the Pokemon TCG has really been going downhill, but not in the way you'd think. Ever since, let's be real, the HUGE hype that Jake Paul brought into the space making it seem like you could get rich quick from Pokemon cards, there's been a MASSIVE flood of investors, scalpers, and flippers, and THAT has caused huge price surges and such. 10-12 years ago, you could get cards super easily, for a really affordable price, and nobody worried about how much each card was worth. Nowadays you're at times hard pressed to find cards in stores or online, they've gone up in price, and EVERYTHING has a price chart from Day 1. People don't like this set because let's be completely honest, there's little to no money to be made here. There's no nostalgia bait, there's no huge "waifu tax" card, there's no big popular posterchild Pokemon, nothing, and it really shows. People are pumping Fezandipit ex because they know it's playable. People are pumping up Cassiopeia, not because people like Penny (because I've seen TONS of hate for her), but because there's literally no other choice for this set's big "waifu tax" type of card like your Marnie, Lillie, or Miriam of times past. It's no mistake that out of the non-playable cards, Illustration Rare Persian is the highest fetching card, because it plays into nostalgia. This never used to be a problem until the hopeful money makers started cropping up. Every set NEEDS to have super profitable cards, or else it's seen as "bad." Back in the day the people buying TCG products were genuine Pokemon fans. Now it's mostly investors and flippers who decide what will and won't do well. How good this set actually is depends ENTIRELY on the perception of the person buying it. As I said at the top of this comment, this set is the best I've seen since SV Base, but to someone just looking to make money, it's the worst set we've seen in a while. That really is the problem with the Pokemon TCG as a hobby now. These people are more abundant and loud than anybody else, so when they speak their opinions, everyone listens and accepts it as fact. And with stuff like Trainer's Pokemon coming back in the near future, it's not going to get any better any time soon. This cycle is bound to repeat itself until eventually these people get bored and true Pokemon fans stop buying into their schemes.

Shrouded Fable has some really lovely art rares but it's bogged down by how awful the pull rates are. I know lots of people 'love' the chase from sets like Evolving Skies but nothing sucks more than ripping numerous product for incredibly lacklustre results. Yes I know that's how gambling is but Shrouded Fables feels particularly harsh for a special set, couple that with some awful batching issues and objectively disappointing sar artwork (personally the ar loyal three look so much nicer) and it's an unpleasant set to open.

In my opinion this set was made to scam people because quickly releasing a set just a few days before worlds with the worst pull rates ever so people are forced to buy a ton off product for just a few cards is a scam in my eyes and that towards not only the players but the millions of collectors aswel! This set was the worst business idea they ever had totally dishonoring their customers! I hope they feel this mistake and loose money on it because that is regretfully the only language such companies understand.

That's the way it is. 4-5 years ago a ton of investors and flippers got into this hobby and it hasn't been the same since. Sets basically live or die by their word now and it's horrible. The TCG community has gone severely downhill ever since, and I don't think it's going to recover any time soon.
