For me, this has unironically always been one of my favorite Spiderman movies ever, even though I can admit that it probably is the weakest of the three, it's still a decent movie in it's own right and I think it deserves respect for what it was trying to do with so many different story arcs, even if it's questionable how successful it was... I also love the representation of the Symbiote in this movie personally because it represents the comics very well while Peter is wearing it

Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy was not intended to be a trilogy. There was actually talk of doing up to six films. In fact, a fourth film was in production. A script was written, and John Malkovich was in talks to play Vulture, while Anne Hathaway was going to play Black Cat. Then, Raimi pulled out of the project. He despised every iteration of the script. With a 2011 release date already on the books, Raimi didn’t think he could make a good movie on the timeline asked of him. Nobody stepped into his shoes, and the movie didn’t happen.

I thought it was the weakest part of this film. Uncle Ben's killer gets forgiven and forgotten about? I still can't fathom the writing decisions. Accidental or not, he still shot him in cold-blood because he wanted to rob his car. He took away Peter's mentor father figure. In my opinion Tobey's Spider-Man/Peter Parker is by far the best one. All of his movies have so much heart, intensity and depth to them. Tom and Andrew are great Spider-Man's but Tobey is the greatest.

I love Spidey 3. The biggest problem the movie had was that they tried to cram too many villains in it. I actually think Topher Grace did a great job as Eddie Brock and Venom...but it was like one too many. And Sandman's origin story was just beautifully done. But for me, the story takes the trilogy to the logical conclusion. Peter gets he powers in #1. Has to deal with living the powers in #2. And the roles between he and Mary Jane Flip in #3. She's down on her luck, and he is enjoying the glory of being Spider-Man. The problem is, Peter Parker doesn't know how to do it humility. He has to be taken down a peg or two. I actually think 3 was the most adult (with the most complex themes) of the Raimi series. It's as if Raimi had a direction he wanted to follow and Columbia Pictures said, "Oh no... we need more bling!" Which is probably how it went down.

1.Even Bully Maguire plays into this tbh. Peter, even at his worst and most high on his own ego, is still just an enormous doofus deep down who thinks he's the coolest thing since sliced bread 2. Eddie is honestly an underappreciated aspect of this movie. Topher Grace did a good job playing Peter's mirror image and I wouldn't have minded it if he became Venom *eventually* , just not in this movie. Hell, if rumors are to be believed about The Vulture being slated as the villain the that theoretical 4th movie Sam Raimi wanted, I could see Peter dealing with the Venom symbiote and Eddie's life falling apart throughout the movie and then leading into a 5th with the creation of Venom

But because of the symbiote story line, he had to push the main plots aside. Personally I'd say Raimi did a pretty decent job balancing everything out.

I think this movie will always reign as my favorite im the franchise. Yes even above one. Not in pure cinematography, but it pure fun and risks. Yes i know this isnt the spiderman 3 Raimi wanted, but as is i think its a perfect end for the character. Sure they crammed a 3-4 hour story into a 2 hour movie, but it does so beautifully. Even when raimi is fed up and pissed he can still at the end if the day produce something so purely perfect as a capsule for nostalgia. Hopefully we can gt our Spiderman 4🙏🤞

1 was an excellent origin story, establishes Toby's Peter (a geeky guy who probably would be bullied in school, likable, always down on his luck, some Spiderman fans may dislike the portrayal for not being a power fantasy, but I think he set the bar for the character), Uncle Ben is the moral anchor of the movie, his death sets Peter down the road to becoming a true hero, the legendary Willem Dafoe is unforgettable as Goblin, the tone of the movie is over the top, goofy, but fun. Great start. 2 arguably tops 1. Peter has never had it worse, every aspect of his life has gone to shit, Harry (James Franco) hates him, he's the most relatable superhero, can't even pay his rent. Even Alfred Molina's Doc Ock is sympathetic, a smart man with noble intentions who loses his mind in an experiment gone wrong. Peter throws the costume away, quits being the hero, and everything in his life improves, to the point that I didn't want him to go back, I just wanted him to be happy for once, but of course, he's too good to stay out, saves the day in the end, but this time he does get to be with Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). Yes, critics hated 3 (ironic, considering it contains a subplot about MJ being torn down by critics), and sure, it has its flaws, but its very rewatchable. Its crazy, wild, pulls the audience in every direction, comedy, drama, romance, plot twists, betrayals, lots of moments where the audience audibly gasps at the latest development. I think critics felt it failed as a dramatic, serious film, but truth be told, it wasn't trying to be one. The end of 2 suggests that 3 will deliver on Harry's long awaited revenge, but that subplot takes backstage to other stories and ends up feeling a bit disappointing, but I think they did hit all the right beats. I love the stupid grudge match they have in Harry's house, not as a hero and villain, but just as two friends who had a falling out, its extremely petty and personal, lots of trash talk, its just a spectacle to witness. And the infamous emo Peter arc, while yes, very goofy, is hilarious. I love that shit, I can't get enough of "Bully McGuire" and his dance, all these years later and it still slays me every time. How can you hate on a movie like this? It's just too much fun. I give it a pass.

Let me try to make an attempt to help you understand what happened with there being multiple Spider-Man….actors. 2002 Spider-Man, directed by Sam Rami came out. His 3rd movie was in 2007. 2008 was when the first Iron Man come out which was such a big hit. 2008 was also when the god tier movie The Dark Knight premiered. So the studio, (Sony) knew they had to bring back Spider-Man bc he is the most popular marvel character, knowing they would make a lot of money now that superhero movie genre was back in full force. 2012, 2014, was when they released The Amazing Spider-Man, with Andrew Garfield, directed by Marc Webb. The two fell flat for the most part. But mainly, in 2014 was around the time the MCU was really popping off. MCU finally made a deal with Sony to make their own Spider-Man in the MCU, while Sony held the rights. That’s why we have Tom Holland. Overall the average poll of fans is that Toby, the OG, is the best Spiderman, but mostly the best Peter Parker. Andrew is the best as Spiderman as far as movement and charisma while suited. And Tom is the best of both worlds, while also not holding a candle to anywhere close to either of the other two. All have their own place. All loved. Hope this helps.

Spider-Man 3 was awesome. They just tried to cram too much into one movie with 3 villains. New Goblin, Sandman, and Venom. They even had a part where Spider-Man was conflicted with the black suit symbiote before it becomes Venom with Eddie and that takes time to tell that story. They really needed more time to flesh out Eddie's character with Venom but it felt rushed towards the end because they didn't have enough time to properly tell the story. The movie itself was good but it could've been better if it had an extra hour to properly tell the story with Venom and tie those characters together better so it didn't feel as forced and rushed at the end battle.

I think this movie would’ve benefitted from being a 2-parter. Have part 1 be Symbiote Spider-Man toeing the line between good and bad, and getting increasingly violent until the end of the movie where he gets rid of the Symbiote, only for it to latch onto Brock and lead into part 2 with Venom as the main villain. That way part 1 has the time it needs to develop Harry and Sandman as antagonists, since that seems to be what Raimi wanted for the film. There’s a lot of rumors and I think even outright confirmation that the studio were hard-pushing to include Venom in this film, and Raimi has gone on record to say he’s not a fan of the character, but at least this way he would’ve gotten another film to really give Venom a chance. I think Raimi could’ve done something with the character, or at least brought other people in to brainstorm.

1.Spiderman 3 unfortunately suffered due to studio interference. Originally it was supposed to be just about the New Goblin and Sandman, but Sam Raimi was forced to squeeze Venom in there as well due to his growing popularity. 2. Spiderman 3 is a mess, but the sheer amount of memes and ridiciloisness that came out of it , helped make it just as immortal as the other 2. Bully Maguire in particular is *legendary*

Did you notice the bully in part 1 Flash was at Harrys Funeral. And there was supposes to be a part 4 with Carnegie and Mysterio. Even king pin. And Peter parker college professor with one arm was supposed to be come Crocodile by experiment on himself to get his arm back but mutated him. The Sandman portions of this movie made it worth watching. Where he's first formed, that's a brilliant and moving short film. I still cry at it. The rest of this movie Is meh.

The Venom films aren't STRICTLY necessary, but they are enjoyable and will inform the post-credits. 3:18 - I believe I mentioned it before that part of Sony's distribution deal was they had to make a new movie every 5 years to keep the rights. Between the critical failure of Spiderman 3 and Toby McGuire's advancing age, Sony needed to try something new, so they rebooted the series for 2012. 38:40 - So remember at the beginning of Spiderverse when OG Spiderman said "And then I did this...we don't talk about this."? THIS is what he was referring to.

Flint Marco is Sandman if u didn't know and when he was running from the law and climbed the fence and fell into that machine that changed and turned him and at that moment that's how Sandman was born.

Is it the worst of this trilogy? Yes. But I still thoroughly enjoy it. It's a shame the studio forced Raimi to add in Venom, as it was just too much going on. Too many villains. I think the Sandman/Marko character was such a wasted opportunity. He deserved a more involved story arc as his character ended up being an extremely sympathetic character and could have benefitted from more screen time. Venom was where this movie gets rough. The Eddie Brock character, the emo-Peter, Venom, it was just handled sloppy. You can tell it was thrown in as an afterthought. It felt very forced.

This movie would've been better if they split it into two parts. An adversary like Venom needs a whole movie versus Spiderman. Peter should've fought Sandman and the black suit symbiote for this movie and fought Venom in the next. Plus, Topher Grace as Eddie Brock? Sam Raimi had great casting choices for these characters, but not that one!
