I read somewhere, or maybe I dreamt it, that only 1 ore-freighter was docked at a time, because while 1 pylon was unloading ore, the second pylon was processing ore and the third pylon was loading the ingots, or something like that.

For one, it's not a HUMAN built space station its Cardassian (who know what their engineers were thinking) and two, it's a TV show in which production design staff designed it and model-makers build it.

Well, the reality is that none of the vehicle or space station designs on Star Trek (or Star Wars) make much sense at all. They are not practical at all. 2001's USS Discovery or Babylon 5 are much more realistic designs...

Nothing, and i mean no ship or station is well designed in a startreck. And yes DS9 is terribly designed. Would NEVER work i real life.

First off its sci fi....no real space engineers were used i the making of this fake station. But let's pretend its real, and let's remember it was designed for cardassian ships. Probably weren't thinking about docking a bunch of galaxy class ships 🙊🙉🙈
