Great video! Thanks for sharing. I do too have a G100 and your description of the pros and cons was perfect!

Great review! Shots look great! Always great content and interesting camera, I sadly never looked into, but seems like a great little cam!

There's a MKII out now with USB-C and some other stuff I forgot again. They're su-per cheap used now. There's a nice grip option with remote buttons. It's got the L Monochrome D profile for stills as does the GX9 which I'll take as M43 B-/pocket cam instead any day. Or a Canon M50 if you're mostly into cheap vlogging and video.

I love this little camera. I happened to get a bad copy (at least from what I understand), the evf stopped working, but I had been using it pretty constantly. I sold it (was honest about the nonworking evf), but I would totally buy another one. I really liked it, and the sound was quite good with the built in mic, something that gets overlooked. It's also a good stills camera. New or used, you can get two or three lenses and have the whole package. It's a lovely camera, and I love that you're covering overlooked, or undervalued cameras.

I'm actually in the middle of making a "revisited" video about this little gem of a camera! Camera prices are ABSURD right now, but the g100 is ridiculously affordable now that the g100d is on the market (same camera with a USBC port and somehow better but worse EVF lol). I've been seeing them go for 300 with a kit lens. It punches way above it's weight!

@@MattsNotes The EVF is much better in G100D ^_^

I got this camera even with all the trash it got on KZbin two years ago around the time I sold my D200. I appreciate the 'set it and forget it' operation. Love the gorgeous colors out of the can and beautiful video with the kit lens. I payed a little extra for that kit lens though, got the silver one. It's my go-to for family outings and eBay photos. How physically flexible it is, is by far a very underrated feature thanks to its multi angle flippy screen. The only thing I don't like are its native RAW files that don't edit well, for me at least. So JPG is the way to go with the G100. And the photos for me, are little too sharp, believe it or not. lol And I originally got it to get into that KZbin game.... been lagging it though.

You sold me on trying to find another g100! After selling it and using my GH5, I really do miss the convenience of this little lumix. I came across one for 250 with a lens but I didn't buy it in time lol. I wish (although it may come at the expense of a bigger body) the g100 had in body image stabilization rather than electronic; not a huge deal but it would make it much more inticing for me!

I like it. It's way easier to lug around vs my a7iii and I was able to get some decent lenses for it for the price of 1 good lens for my sony. it's also small enough that I can still bring that whole setup with me if i do take my main camera out.

Which lens can I use to shoot in low light with the Lumix g100?
@MattsNotes Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! I guess it would depend on your budget. The 25mm f1.4 is a good and affordable option, and so is the Rokinon 12mm f2. I'd opt to snag a Viltrox Speedbooster for the G100 and pick up the canon 50mm f1.8 as an option. I hope this helps!

The panasonic 20mm is good for stills (for video it has really slow autofocus)

I want to use it for live streaming will the record limit or overheating effect the video output through HDMI I know it does have an internal record limit

The G100 is a great camera. I actually used it for livestreaming for the first time a couple weeks ago doing a convention! Overheating happens with the g100 when I filmed in 4k. It's not an often occurrence but if I filmed consecutive and long videos (20 minute plus). That said, I generally live stream in full HD. I didn't have problems there when using it for hours at a time. I'd forsee some 4k livestreams being problematic for longer bits. Long story long, I think if you stick to full HD when streaming and be mindful of that 29 minute cut off and reset time, you'd be just fine. I hope that helps!
