Today I talk about the 2022 Harley-Davidson event and what I think the "new" bikes will be later in 2022.

It was pretty much exactly what i expected, celebrating what went well, showed off option packages that we kinda knew were coming and setup for a few more reveals coming up. Nothing blew me away, but it didn't disappoint either

And i expect more sportster models, but I think the liquid bagger is next year

I like the revival bikes but not sure about their asking prices for them. I agree with your thoughts on the sportsters coming up. I like the new lowrider st except for the 2 diff size bags on the bike.

It’s the one design flaw in my opinion. They should have gone with a 2-1 pipe setup and bags that are the same size.

Are you thinking liquid cooled bagger this year? Or wait for a couple of more years before that's available across all the FL lines? I do like your thinking about next year with the RevMax in the Sportsters. It just makes sense unless the Sportster S doesn't sell well. I don't know how the sales are going on that bike.

I’m not sure about Sportster S sales either. When the CEO of HD was talking at the event he mentioned that this was the first release of the year. We know the revival. Ike will be coming so if all holds true it will be a Bagger or Sportsters that we will see this year. I’m betting on the Bagger with the Rev Max….either way I’m excited to see what they do!

Agree with what, heard the opposite in terms of when, at least for Europe (smaller sportster this year, maybe a new bagger next year)

For Europe and Euro6 emissions a RevMax Street Rod and this time keep it Euro focused, it’s never going to be the big seller here but Europe has always bought all the sporty models the could make. XR1200, street Rod V-Rod, Both huge in Europe dropped because Americans weren’t buying it.

I don't actually see much of that other than the heritage cruiser. I am actually thinking they have pulled the Sportglide because they are redesigning it for the Rev-Max 1250. I can't see another Sportster with it because they can't peel it back enough to save production cost. I own the Sportster S and taking out rider modes is not happening. You could drop traction control perhaps, cruise control. I think the sportster will have a Rev-Max 965 without any bling to bring the design and production cost down. That tells me the Sportglide will pop up as a light bagger at perhaps $17k. I can't see the old die hards flipping over and that was the mistake they made with the Vrod. The old boys want what they want, and that is an air cooled thumper. Rev-Max leak into the high end bagger will not happen for at least 4 years. So my prediction, the Sportster S will be the only 1250 Sportster and the 965 [Edit: perhaps 1050 just to put a few CC on the Scout] will become the standard. I think the Sportglide will be the main conduit for taking in new riders with a redesign and a 1250. and I think the old air-cooled heavy baggers and Fatbobs will remain for a few years as is. HD will keep their old base happy and introduce a new one.

Disappointed we didn't see the new sporty, and the next Icon series bike. I think the LR-ST's are little too expensive you got 6 baggers in the same price and thats "if" dealers don't put huge markups on it. (Which I expect they will) The ST Road Glide and Street glides should have been "Stripped" down version of the CVO (no radio, no frills all performance) bikes instead of a up Engine displacement of the Specials. Not coming with the Olins suspension stock was also not what I would consider a "performance" bagger. I'm hoping we might see a last EVO version of the "Elvis Sportster Bike" that is being speculated. I don't think we will get baggers with the revmax in 2023 unless its only a CVO, and hopefully a higher displacement version. I think the M8 being replaced is still 4-6 yrs away.

I think HD is going to follow the same formula as they did last year. PanAm was the big reveal. The next was the Revival bike Last was the Sportster S We have the LRST and ST baggers now. Revival will be in a couple months. Mid season will bring the RevMax Bagger or new RevMax Sportsters. I’m thinking Bagger from what I’m hearing. Time will tell either way it’s exciting!

I was waiting to see the LRST but overall , to me, the event was a little lack luster. Maybe I was wanting a little more detail than what was delivered. I did pick up on the first release of the year comment. I thought that was going to tie into the newer Sportster models.

You will see new models or add on models released between March and May.....Thats my predictions....

I don’t think you’ll see a revmax engined bagger for at least a couple of years. Why? The current M8 engined baggers are still their biggest money makers and if they did release a revmax version the ST baggers they just released would instantly be redundant, making a mockery of the ST M8 bagger launch. I think all your going to see this year is a couple of new paint schemes on the sportster S and maybe a sportster S with a skinny front wheel. I think coming out of a crappy 2 year pandemic Harley will play it safe for a while regarding the baggers. Next year the M8 Baggers ST will get a couple of new tweeks and some new colours and probably an anniversary paint job bagger.

Your theory is sound I agree. However the same person who had the LRST Pic 9 months ago when no one believed that was coming is also saying that the RevMax Bagger is coming. If you follow Jeff G Holt on IG he’s been on a couple of podcasts talking about the NDA he signed with HD and said that things are gonna get wild over the next five years as HD begins to shape the future of the company…we will see! Either way I’m excited for the future!

4-6 more years I think will be the end of the M8. If we are lucky the Revmax engine will come in a slightly higher cc version for the baggers.

@@MyDunnLife Yes the RevMax will have to be reworked a little to be on the Bagger platform.

@@kidmoto22 oh I don’t doubt it’s coming… but I think HD will want to get every ounce of sales and accessories for the M8 engined baggers before they pull the plug and I think with all the interest in the M8 bagger racing, all the parts sales that will generate for next couple of years and with HDs track record of sticking with an engine for a few years I just think we are still a couple years away. I also think that by them releasing the pan America and the sportster they can now follow the progress of that engine in the real world for a couple years, collect all the data on how in performs them create a powerful version for the bagger in a new frame, new suspension and revamped styling which will carry them on for the next 15 years until we go all electric 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Wasn’t exactly suspenseful. Sorta like watching titanic, lol, you know from the start it’s gonna sink but it’s still a good watch. I was hoping for more from An event titled „more, faster“. Like a factory option 131 to Go up Against the Triumph Rockets of the world. Or a new Street Rod based on the Revolution max from the Sportster S. What we got wasn’t anything to make me want to run out and trade my Street Bob for it.

I’m still convinced we’re gonna see this RevMax Bagger before the end of 2022! Time will tell.

@@kidmoto22 then I will wait to see before buying a m8 and do a stage 4. However…. I wouldn’t want to spend more than $32k on it. But I can only imagine the sticker is going to be $35k plus. I think any one who buys a ST bagger might have more money then sense. You can pick up a street/road glide standard, do a stage 4, change the front fender and aftermarket suspension for almost the same money. If they don’t do something spectacular they basically took the year off.
