Yes, honestly. I played the demo for 10 hours (in game clock) and 15 hours on my PS5 internal clock. Calling it a demo is massively underselling it. When I got to the 1st 3 days you can spend freely, I got my Knowledge virtue to level 2 which unlocks Weapon Cleansing in the church and took a quest from the Magic Shop lady which opens up a dungeon outside the city! You can fight a really tough boss there, a lvl 22 Minotaur, and I got stomped by him on day 2 but came back on day 3 prepared and with a plan and took him out. Super freaking satisfying.

How did you get the wisdom to level 2?

@danielfarmer6449 day 1 talk to a guy in town that gives you a request to help out at the Honeybee Inn at night. Then spend time during the day on a bench by the Igniter shop to raise your Wisdom. Complete the quest requirements at night and then report back to the guy on day 2. These two actions should give you enough points to get to Lvl 2 wisdom. Then talk to the Igniter shop lady to get the quest and dungeon, but make sure to visit the church to improve some equipment first. If you got the sword from beating the dragon, you can make it really powerful.

If you manage to beat the minotaur during D2, you can even follow up and do the story dungeon on D3. Story dungeon has a lot of content, demo wiol stop right after beating a boss however.

It is! Amazing prologue. The persona games / visual novels are not my jam, but this looks like it's gonna be more a videogame and less a visual novel which is a really nice change for someone like me.

@@MrNH718 tbh I played 5, 4, both soul hackers and smtV and from the whole atlus catalog the game I enjoyed the most was persona 5 strikers xD Their style is just not my thing. That's why I'm also glad and surprised I liked Metaphor for some reason, same as back in the day I was surprised I liked 13 sentinels. I guess it just depends on the game.

Just a tip for getting most out of demo, if you spend your 1st free day to sit on bench for wisdom, then that night do the cooking quest. The next day your wisdom will be level 2 and you'll get another dungeon you can do, but be warned that side dungeon is a lot harder then grand cathedral! Can't wait for full release!

I've always struggled to get into the Persona Games. They just aren't my jam. So, I semi-reluctantly started the Demo (after watching a few glowing reviews), and.... Wow... Just Wow. I'm only about an hour and a half into the Demo, thus far, and I am blown away. The presentation, the voice acting, the story, the UI, etc... is just phenomenal. The anime cut scenes are top tier. Every misconception I had is being demolished, and I'm loving every second of it. Play. This. Game.

Optimization for PC is probably the worst I've ever seen. I can run cyberpunk on ultra with ray tracing, but struggling to get 30fps on metaphor. *Update: The game automatically uses integrated graphics on some machines. I had to manually change it in the Nvidia settings to use my GPU. Issue solved, runs perfectly now.

@@rowlandjohnvanderwesthuize2164 I played on PS5 so I’m not too aware of the PC issues. Though I’ve heard that it uses the integrated graphics by default sometimes and that you have to manually change it to your dedicated one. Don’t know if that helps

I have a 3080, and i7-12700KF, so not really a brand new top of the line system, and my performance was perfect. I think that they must have a problem with specific hardware or something, maybe with AMD. I think it will get ironed out.

I was getting fine fps with ryzen 5 7600 and rx 7900 gre (120-160 fps) at 1440p

As an old school Final Fantasy fan that has been disappointed by SQEX's more modern Final Fantasy games, I am SUPER psyched for this game. It seems to be everything that I've wanted from a modern Final Fantasy.

The decision to make the game turn based while allowing weaker enemies to die with real time combat is probably the best decision I’ve seen in gaming in a long time

@@ronreed4050 I agree, I think this is a bigger deal than most people think it is right now. They really found a great way to make a hybrid real time/turn based system. In most turn based games where you can hit the enemy before combat to gain an advantage, it feels gimmicky. But in metaphor it feels like actual meaningful gameplay. Enemies actually telegraph attacks and you can dodge.

The demo was fantastic, can't wait for the full game. Finished the mino dungeon boss, tried many times, skipped the cathedral dungeon. Im planning that for the full game. Archetype is the job system with skills depending on your lineup. The dyamica will let you switch and try lineup for different dungeons and bosses.

One of things i love is how meta the game can get. The fact that there is canon in world reason for the music is hilarious. Also it aknolwedging the player is controlling the protaganist and asking for your actual name at the beginning.

I played the demo for two hours and stopped. It was long enough for me to decide that i really want the game. It's a long demo and i want to start from the beginning and experience the whole thing without a week+ wait for the full drop.

I was SO BLOWN AWAY by this demo! I completely concur with your opinion on this. I mean, it's a Persona 5 re-skin in many ways but honestly.... it WORKS. I played it on normal and had a wonderful challenge of it. You can just tell it's a game that is going to reward you for mixing and matching jobs. I'm really excited to play this game when it comes out.

played 2 hours of demo so far and I'm impressed. Peak visuals, solid gameplay, great voice acting, and an interesting world-building. My only gripe is that it's too much like Persona 5 so far. But I know there'll be way more to it in the full game.

Anyone know if this game is worth trying out if I haven't been able to play any other ATLUS game yet? (Only one i played so far was etrian odyssey 4 using a guide. Also not a fan of customization and side content). Not too familiar with the usual mechanics that seem to be common in those games and it seems daunting. Is the hype so much I should consider playing this before I try something like persona 5?

I thought that it was awesome. Persona 5 is where I started and it’s great too, if a bit daunting. Metaphor seems to ease you in more than I remember p5 doing. My favorite part from the Metaphor prologue is the final fantasy style job class system.

I’ve been playing the demo in chunks, but my biggest fear like you said is the length, plus Atlus being notorious for punishing you if you’re a completionist. I want the best loot and to max rank this game’s version of social links, but I’m sure it’ll require a guide or multiple playthroughs in order to do that smh

I tried demo but the story and dialogues are kinda stupid, in my opinion and battles are meaningless, characters aren't interesting. Paper Mario Origami King, Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 9, Tales of Destiny 2 are surely better fantasy games. P.S: If you take games as Arcade games and close your eyes on stupidity - possible you can enjoy Metaphor but surely not my cup of tea P.S: Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines and Arcanum are fantasy games too but have good dialogues and darker setting - also more freedom. I'm not a big fan of Cell Shading by the way

I came here to see if others agree with me, but it doesn’t seem like it. I think this game looks beautiful and I love the character design. I love JRPGs, and I was completely prepared to enjoy this game. Yet, I find it treacherously boring, slow-paced and easy. It’s a pass for me, but you should absolutely check out the demo and decide for yourself.

I'm playing the demo and enjoying the story a lot. Gameplay-wise it's typically what you would expect from an Atlus game but the story is good and I love the music. Definitely going to play it.

I love every single thing about it until...5 hour ish in...I thought I had escaped it but nooooo! lol...the calendar system / day/night task system AAH, I absolutely hate that system with a passion! Same in Persona lol. I was about to pre order it thinking I had escaped this system but glad I kept playing the demo. I will pick the game up eventually but it went from a day 1 pre order to wait for me. All because of that system lol. I know, I know I am picky as hell. Well with some things lol and that's just a big negative to me to the point it changes my mood on the entire thing! Still think the game is fantastic though but I will wait for a sale now
