The tilma of Juan Diego at the Apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe has a similar miraculous image. It is on cactus fiber that should have disintegrated centuries ago. It still remains intact and vibrant to this day, and there is no evidence of paint or man-made painting. It converted all of Mexico at the same time the Protestant reformation was happening in Europe. Worth looking into!

Yes, quite amazing. Lovely people too. A local shopkeeper watched our bikes and stored our helmets... She asked for 6,000 pesos when we got back 3 hours later (about €1.30) but we gave her a lot more to make her day. 😊

That supposedly miraculous image appeared on that rock and the church was built around it. Supposedly that image is in that rock feet deep. If that's true then it must have came from God since it's impossible for a human to make.

That's a fair point of view, and I wouldn't ever go out of my way to convince you or anyone else, otherwise. The facts as I see them to your point specifically, is that the church arranged a test many years ago which concluded that the colours were deep in the rock and not painted. No tests were done since by more modern methods, or by independent sources. The more time now goes on, the less important it is to show 'proof' determining that it is just a beautiful painting on a rock. It would upset people if it was proved, so what's the point of that? There's not a single person in the world who's life would be better by determining the divine painting is a hoax. Regardless of what people believe to be true, the fact is that the whole thing is a story, and it makes people feel good. People like me that don't believe the story have no negative impact on their lives at all, so there's no losers, just a big lovely sanctuary in a nice part of the world. Anyway, I appreciate the courtious comment, thank you.

@@MotoBrit I’ve been trying to find modern scientific testing on this image so we can know if it’s devine or a hoax. Supposedly the paint is unknown. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to determine if it’s been painted by a human or not

Having seen it close-up, it is a very detailed painting of four humans in colorful clothing that looks like typical portrature artwork of that era. Knowing the story prior to my arrival, I was actually expecting to see a 'stone colored pattern' on the rock that resembled a face. A sort of haunting image that would make me stare in awe.... But no. Anyway, maybe one day it will get tested outside of ecumenical control.

It has been determined that it is not a painting, there is no paint, just as the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico is not a painting and that has undergone extensive scientific testing. There is no human explanation.

Thank you for your comment. Would you kindly send me the link for the research, as it does not seem to be available when searching online. The only reference is that a German scientist tested it back in the 1960s and concluded that it was not a painting. However, he was commissioned by the church. I would hope that people agree that one test over 50 years ago, by one man from the Catholic church, and without using today's modern equiptment, should be challenged, do you not agree? I'm happy to conclude that it is not paint if independent experts show proof of their examination and conclude that. Otherwise, any rational person must question this, even if the answer is not what they want. That's how we must think as a collective, diverse global community. That's my belief. Thanks again, I would welcome further facts on this very curious subject.

@@MotoBrit At the moment, unfortunately I can’t provide a link. It would take time I don’t have here to go deeper. I see your point regarding only “Catholic” research having been done, if that is true. Usually in validating any image as such the Church employs outside and independent sources to confirm. I would consider tests done 50 years ago as fairly modern though. I wish I had more to offer you at the moment except that every article I’ve come across online says that it’s not painted. Just the same, thank you for your video!

Thanks, Sylvia. The alleged tests done all that time ago are not at all conclusive, unfortunately. They only issued a written report I believe, saying that it was 'not done by human hands' which is a bit sub-standard. It is possible to do what is called a 'Raman spectroscopy' and confirm with K-Alpha X-ray if it is paint or not. In fact that test would even date it I believe. If that was done, and no paint pigments were found, well I for one, would be excited by the buzz of intellectuals not being able to explain something - Wouldn't anyone? I have seen that rock close-up with my own eyes, and it is a very detailed large portrait of 4 humans. As a rational and curious person, I cannot easily accept the miracle story, as it looks like portraiture of that era, so it's like seeing a regular renaissance painting. But I'm fine with people that do just accept the miracle story, I just don't understand why they do not share my curiosity for proof. Shouldn't people of faith be more insistent to see an x-ray test if their faith is that strong? Shouldn't they be the ones saying the German guy with his magnifying glass was not enough? Again, a rational argument, I think. Anyway - I hope my opinions and questions were all received with the courtesy as intended, for you and any other readers - I understand that any opposing views can easily cause friction, and often these opposing views can never reach an amicable agreement. If I can conclude: I think the existence of the rock, regardless, has given people comfort, so that's a win for humanity isn't it. Thanks again for conversing.

You are just ignorant, I have seen people having chances of just 2-3% of living, asias top doctors giving up and miraculously that person gets saved only through prayers and recovered into healthy person. This is the power of prayer. That time science also gave up, we drained money like water and the top doctors said only miracle can only save that person. You believe or not prayers can do wonders. Secondly Spanish came in the 15th century not 17th and 1754 is 18th century.

I disagree, I'm not at all ignorant. I'm sorry the video angered you, but I firmly believe that it's impossible that a young mute girl played with baby Jesus in a cave in the 1800's, got cured of being mute, and then brought back to life having died. Do you really believe that happened?

@@MotoBrit yes because I have seen people healing through my eyes when top most doctors of asia gave up and they too said only miracle can save. You haven't seen any miracle yet, that's why you are saying that, I can understand.

+Mr. Koala06 ... Ok, we will leave it there. I don't go out of my way to attack people for having a belief in any Gods... there's over 3,500 Gods officially recognized globally. I just don't believe in one less than you, so we're not that different really. The more important question of course... have you subscribed?
