Honestly, my main problem is how Epic Games feels the need to introduce a new villain every season. I'm so sick of it. I get that they want to add cool looking evil skins to the battle pass. But everytime they do it, it means less y'know? Like, back then, lets say, astreiod that hit Dusty Depot. That was awesome, confusing and scary. Like, "what does this mean for the island?". We never saw something like that before. It was so unique to have a world that felt alive in a battle royale. You just don't get that with Fortnite anymore.

I kinda agree and disagree here. On the one hand, yes. Having new villains every season does kind of make each individual one less memorable and interesting. However on the other hand, if Fortnite never went beyond that first step, and kept everything vague and unexplained, there would only be so many times it would be cool and unique. Eventually it would just get annoying. They would have had to evolve the story at some point, eventually. And that evolution comes with growing pains. Just like every other change in the game, or any game really. They can't hit the nail perfectly on the head every time, and they can't account for millions of people's tastes. Someone, somewhere is ALWAYS going to be disappointed for some reason.

@@dexchampion8066 That's completely fair. It would be nearly impossible to deny that without Fortnite expanding it's story that it would have remained relevant. Personally, I just wish they'd do more with the villains themselves. A lot of the time the villain just shows up and leaves. I actually kinda liked what they did with The Herald. But to me, it never really felt like the island turning into chrome was because of her? Idk if that's a good way to explain it. Personally, I think Epic needs to find a new way to convey a story besides quests and a new villain every season. My main point being that not every season needs a new villain. None of the villains feel developed enough y'know? I could not tell you a single thing about megalodon besides he's a nitro addict.

@@Ownchasemario I do think they're working towards that. The Wanderer has been built up for two seasons now, and will likely be the villain of C5S4. And most theories on the matter point to the Wanderer being The Shapeless Man, or possibly the Nothing. But, we will have to wait and see.

the only horrendous thing about reload is dying mid-late game and respawning. you immediately get shot out of the sky because you're forced to pull out your glider/umbrella and cant land immediately to find loot again so you're basically canned for the rest of the game unless you're lucky

I like the pressure of that moment particularly on duos because it: 1. Evens the playing field • Sweat or not, you must survive and get good at it fast. That was how we learned to survive in the old days if we drop to the POI that was really crowded 2. It forces you and your teammate to really work together the clutch that match. It has pressure for sure, but I think it's a good pressure that makes you better over time

the combination of wrecked being one of the most divisive seasons to date (I loved it until the nerf) and the fact that the mode is really new and imo better than og (it isn't slow, 100% chest spawn rate and you don't waste half of the match just searching for shields or fighting bots) I think it makes sense for reload to be the most played mode. I'm curious to see the number after two months the mode being out and the new marvel season on top of that. I personally think Reload saved fortnite for the long run, I've stopped playing BR for a couple of days now but thanks to reload now I switch between the two modes, it even made BR feels refreshing. If you get bored of one mode you just jump into the other, two completely different experiences.

@@jibaZoomi Exactly, I feel like with Reload and classic BR you get two different type of engaging games, you'll never get bored of fortnite that way, also with reload always there it doesn't matter that much if a season is hit or miss, it's actually genious. And about updates in reload they are so cheap in comparison, they just need to recicle what worked in chapter 1-4 POI and lootpool while keeping the core mechanic. Also Epic may learn a thing or two from reload and its sucess like less bots and a higher rate of chest spawn

I think the simplicity of OG Fortnite is what really makes it work, regardless of the nostalgia factor. Sometimes it feels like you have to complete a checklist during the mid-game to attain a victory in modern Fortnite. Every new mechanic creates a learning curve for better or worse.

Because they planned for multiple Anti-Car items to be introduced over time. The Laser Rifle, Tow-Hook Cannon, Remote Explosives, Magneto Power and eventually the Minigun will all eventually be in this season and will all be very strong against cars. And, if there are so many Anti-Car tools around, why would anyone bother using the cars? Why would they upgrade their cars and try out the new mechanics when it was so dangerous to do so? This way, people can try out the new car mechanics, see how they work, and then in the future weigh the risk vs reward factor of using them.

Some people thought the new weapons were too strong, some people thought they were too weak. It's pretty much impossible to make the entire fanbase agree, we're simply too large a group.

Great point, and I hope that was Epic's thought process. That they can go ham in regular BR now. The irony here is that Chapter 1 is known for having fun weapons and vehicles that weren't balanced. BR then became too balanced and sterile. Now they've brought back "OG" as a balanced and sterile mode, and BR is the unbalanced and wacky mode. Not sure how I feel about that. I wish they'd flip that around, but at least Fortnite is wacky again. Pretty cool.

Absolutely not. If they did reloads numbers would be far higher. Reload is only doing well because of the garbage season. It is a fun game mode but it will dip below battle royale at some point this season... unless I am underestimating how bad this season is which would say a lot since I REALLY hate this season lol. I thought reload would do worse then battle royale the day after it came out so maybe I will continue to be wrong. But I HEAVILY underestimated how many people didn't like this season. Reload isn't something cool or special... yet it crushes normal battle royale while being squads only!? Epic did so many new things in chapter one that was cool. Chapter one wasn't simple... fortnite has just become this convoluted mess it is today that it is considered simple. Fortnite reload isn't as fun as the OG fortnite season. But I will hold that judgment until we get solos, duos, trios and squads. People do realise epic has been fumbling since chapter one season 5 right? The only amazing season after season 5 was season 8. Season 6 had zombies (Trash), season 7 had planes and the infinity blade (Decent season by today's standards lol), season 9 had a meh lootpool with a burst smg, combat with the pump being vaulted, then added back but then a week later we got the drum shotgun... lol (Pretty good season due to the mobility items being cool), then season X.... needs no explanation.... 3/10 while this season is a 2/10.

Innovation is indispensable for the game to continue at the apex after so many years, but distorting what made it loved by all is a tremendous mistake..

i can completely understand how someone can come to the conclusion that battle royale in the sense of constantly "adapting" can get extremely old or feel too adverted from what people recognize fortnite br for i honestly do think it wouldntve mattered either way due to these reasons Reason 1. had fortnite released wrecked at a different time it wouldntve made any difference, considering right before chapter 5 we had fortnite OG and before that people were already getting burnt out from playing chapter 4 season 3 it was too much change for people to handle (ironic considering it was also too little change in that season) and to make matters worse it felt almost as if epic took a huge break during that season and just to add the salt to the wound Reason 2. chapter 4 season 4 damn. this season started off with potential and alot of people said this was fortnite's make or break season with majority of the event staff gone and the rest of the dev team doing who tf knows in the middle of nowhere this season was truly the season where the community split and its sad to see i saw the potential in it had it been updated with a better lootpool had they finally deleted that trash idiana jones poi it really couldve been the season that transitioned well into chapter 5 but we all know how it went (LACK OF UPDATES too little changed in the map and too much changed in the loot pool infact the best part of this season was taken out within like 2weeks of the season) Reason 3. the transition from OG to chapter 5 is hands down one of THE worst transitions ive ever seen SINCE CHAPTER 2 SEASON 1 the player base was split into 6 Factions (OG players) (New Gen players) (Variety enjoyers) (Consistency enjoyers) (comp enjoyers) (casual enjoyers) yes im far aware that this was always a thing but it only really started to show recently and now ive come to realize just how bad its truly getting fortnite split the playerbase so much that now we've run into a new problem Reason 4. trying to please everyone instead of catering to each playstyle and validating them indiviually OG reload further proves the notion of factions and sub factions within the community think about it what's gonna happen when you have og reload and fortnite og happening simultaneously Reload caters to Variety enjoyers, (reload offers the ability to play with several different items and playstyles) OG players, (nostalgia) Comp players,(they get to finally sweat and show for it not just that they get to use guns they practiced with everyday like the old days) Casual players,(even though its sweaty its also really fun with multiple revives you can continue to respawn with your friends and essentially get a free chance at life over and over again) and maybe new gen players that wanna experience what og fortnite was like + knowing what if feels like to play an older game without taking away from their skills they developed with newer guns Fortnite OG caters to specifically OG players Consistency enjoyers and Comp/Casual players fortnite OG is purely nostalgic and i really dont see all the other players enjoying this just specifically fortnite's older playerbase that left fortnite because they felt the game became "Too much" or too serious compared to what they grew up playing alot of newer gen players hated fortnite og because it took away from them what they enjoyed what they wanted out of fortnite and its why i think both fortnite OG and Reload should remain perm My final reason it kinda hits home Reason 5. Fortnite has changed so much over the years ive seen soooo many playstyles so many weapons so many seasons so many items so much goofy stuff soo much hype stuff its just sad to see that fortnite has truly lost its backbone back in my day everything was broken but insanely enjoyable chapter 5 wrecked honestly couldve been handled so much better instead of nerfs counter play shouldve been enabled when counter play comes to the table it rewards smart players and punishes those who choose to be oblivious theres a reason why the cars were so fun on release they were broken yes however i think had they took the time to listen to feedback instead of acting so rash they wouldve realized how easy the fix couldve been instead of splitting the playerbase they shouldve added npcs around the map that sell anvils set up vending machines that give guarenteed boogie bombs make suppply drops grant a higher chance for dropping boom bows theres so many other ways you can add counter play and keep the cars as busted as they were they shouldve never of nerfed the movement on the gloves instead of nerfing the movement nerf the gloves dmg numbers but keep the range big nerf the attack speed and make it more telegraphed theres so many ideas they couldve used and this leads me to my ending evalution Fortnite will always remain fortnite however when no one feels validated why should they keep playing i feel bad for all the devs that spend years of devolpment making these seasons i feel bad for the artist i feel bad for the entire team they make really good ideas all for it to be thrown and casted aside nerfing cars and the gloves made playing against them still annoying by desing choice and playing with them just as equally annoying its a loop of burnout you drop out of the battlebus you kill the mythic you get the car and now you camp with gloves combat and car you ram into 3 maybe 7 people you get 5 kills and then you die to someone else doing the same thing you make it feel as humanly annoying as possible for people using the newer items and people going up against it and eventually you start a big movement of players choosing to advert from newer seasons which in turn makes the devs not like making seasons they get burnt out the staff gets burntout the community manager gets tired and burnt out from trying to cater to the criticism and eventually theres less effort being made into the newer seasons and chapters and more effort being put into you guessed it find it in fortnite Fortnite OG and Fortnite Reload this is truly fortnite's last chance to learn from their mistakes or comepletely give up on innovating and moddifyng fortnite's experience

I've enjoyed this season a lot. It was a breath of fresh air just like Reload was a breath of fresh air for the BR. The nerfs were annoying, but I can still play the game however I want to in BR. But to be honest, the real drawback this season for me is just the community fighting. It's getting old and now that Reload is out you'd think people wouldn't have reason to complain anymore, but the fortnite community just has to complain. It's just getting tiring. Also, I think there are bots in Reload, just less of them.

The simplicity of the loot pool in reload really makes a difference, you don’t have to worry about weapon mods or bullet drop, you just use the guns as they are. It’s undeniable that hitscan just feels better to play with, which is really my biggest complaint about chapter five

bullet drop is kind of for letting new players stay alive longer, so they will not get fried, at least from far away or out of the air. Not everybody supposed to be a sweat or even good at this game, some people just come to spend a time and have fun. I think most of players just got upset because of how overwhelmed this season is that lets everybody win being casual player, but from Epic's perspective this is what good season looks like. "It just came out at the wrong time"

I don't have a issue with the casual player having fun. For this season is boring because fighting cars all game isn't fun. It's not engaging, it's not exciting. Which is why I wish they'd split the loot pools and have ranked use the tourney loot pool. Epic won't do this because they want casuals to venture into ranked. It's frustrating.

It was a learning experience and the last thing that we want is for Epic to stop taking risks. Hopefully they will take our Surveys, criticism, and the success of Reload into account for Chapter 6 and can find the balance between evolving the game and keeping what makes players comfortable with the game. I will be completely honest, the first 2 weeks of Wrecked were ridiculously fun and will always be remembered. Next to the TMNT event, those first two weeks were the most fun I've had in all of Chapter 5.

The only correction I could make is that battle royale is not dying anytime soon, Reload is a form of BR, It’s more or less a ripoff of resurgence from Warzone, Adding onto that the player base in Fortnite mostly chooses BR and then you’ve still got apex and cod. Idk why the new fortnite listens to the community, but when they do it’s always done in a different way, they add new features like new movement or the new guns where it’s all just crammed in the make the new chapter feel new, we never asked for that tho, even before chapter 5 came out they showed the new movement and saw so much negative feedback, so much that they didn’t revert it but only increase the speed of it, then they remove cosmetic rarities and say it’s outdated when ur still spending 2,000 vbucks for the skin that used to be legendary, sorry for the rant

in my opinion, fortnite reload is no place for casual players. I'm not gonna deny that I'm a bad player, but it is just way too sweaty, and the reloading and teams constantly coming back to life just feels like team rumble which I didn't like much already. Things just get too chaotic and, for me, it just wasn't fun to play. I ended up logging off the game for a week in disappointment.

I love the fact that you can play either the competitive mode or the chaotic one now (even though the visuals are misleading and make it seem like they should be reversed) but I still hope the gunplay in regular BR is fixed in Chapter 6. As you said, the basic hitscan weapons with no attachments just feel a lot nicer. I also hope they make Battle Royale’s visual style/direction more creative again, because I’m still not a fan of how it looks. And they should bring back augments. Basically I just miss Chapter 4’s gameplay and aesthetic.

They should add a permanent addition to the main br, a gulag.. A gulag that changes every season an is designed to match either season itself or the collab for that season. Adding something like this would be fun, it would keep the meta the same and it could easily be something that's new in competitive as well. Something that both the casual an competitive players would both be ok with. All this time trying to find a middle ground every season for both groups when this is ready an waiting for epic to just do it....

@Stilloy even if winning the gulag means respawning with a good load out? Like some blue an purple weapons? Idk, I think it would help end game go by faster. And it would be a more fair fight too. You gotta be skilled to win a one on one. An it cuts down in time to find guns an such too. Die early on? Go into the gulag get kitted out on the loadout an boom you an your squad ( who survived an are also already loaded out) are good to go. No more of that respawning with juat a grey pistol an having to take the time to find more stuff. But hey, if you enjoy half your games being securing a loadout and or rebooting squad mates then go ahead. Let's not forget, rebooting takes up time you could be getting kills acquiring or moding weapons an getting shields. In hindsight having a gulag would actually free us up alot more to do more actual gun play in game. Versus, teammates die, the time it takes to collect cards, take the time to reboot, wait for them to shield up, help them find some guns. . . An if they added it, the games would take about as long but it would give a huge benefit to just being able to do more while in the game. Rather then doing all the boring repeatable stuff, that just takes to long anyway. Fr though reboots be taking to long yo. An heaven forbid you reboot just to have to reboot again, an then again. . . @@Splatz007 first off the aliens were chapter 2 season 7, and it was nothing like the gulag, it was a gamemode where if u got enough kills u would be teleported into a room full of loot chests, a gulag in fortnite would be useless, it would make the game go insanely slow as fortnite is known to keep the game running for around 15+ minutes, it’s part of the loop thing, the gulag wouldn’t be a bad idea, but it wouldn’t work well in fortnite imo

Young brother Clark, I am 100% sure you know that the player count of BR got hijacked by Epic adding Creative based maps and then UEFN (creative 2.0). I am as you are pretty sure if Epic didn't add that, we would see more players in BR and no one would've complained. The real question is why Epic is doing this?? Do they want less people playing BR? Reload didn't do anything bad, infact it's good to have but i honestly just wish it had a solo option, i get it's a special team themed game mode but my friends aren't always online and only 1 of them play Fortnite with me. And it's also annoying playing with randoms because my servers aren't even English and most of the time my teammates are just plain awful and can't even bother helping.

I think one of the things that the community as a whole needs to realize is that there are 3 distinct perspectives on the game that need to be acknowledged, but kept separate. 1. Personal Perspective: Everyone has a different idea of what would make a season good or bad. I personally love Wrecked. Two of my close friends who I play with love the gameplay, but hate the skins. One of my other friends loves the skins but hates the gameplay. Everyone has their own opinion and keeping that in mind is a very important factor most fortnite fans ignore. 2. Business Perspective: Like it or not, agree or disagree, Epic is always going to try and do whatever they believe will be best for the business. Money = Resources. More Resources means more development for the game, whether that be on one mode or multiple modes. And the flipside is the game crashing and losing everything. So at some point, we as players have to realize that some decisions are being made out of market research. 3. Epic's Perspective: Morseo on the part of the developers. People like Charlie Wen have ideas for where Fortnite can go and what it can do. And most of those ideas so far have been good. Or at least, enjoyable in concept. They have opinions and interests too, and what they think will be good for the game might not be something we agree with, but they ultimately have more control over the game than we do. Even if we disagree with their decisions, we have to recognize that they aren't made as lightly as so many people seem to think.

It’s not that this season was a big mistake! This season is a fun season. What made this season start off REALLY rough… is NO COUNTER TO CARS. Nothing to keep up with the car if you didn’t have a car. Nothing!! Now we have everything AND counters, Magneto gloves, sniper, the hook to latch onto to cars, EMPS. They literally said here’s cars… that’s it and if you didn’t have a car, you were done.. now I enjoy the season because I can drive cars and make big plays BUT I can also be countered just as easily now too.

Reload is the opposite of a mistake. This is definitly a step in the right direction, I always thought the Find it in Fortnite modes were reletively mid, the 3 modes are still fun but at the end of the day I come onto fortnite to play fortnite I come on to shoot guns and use goofy items like clingers or boogie bombs. If they go down the route Overwatch is currently doing where they just make new modes every couple seasons then player count will get bigger significantly Kind of something reminicent of Spy Games from C2 S2 where they had all these other modes on the br map but not a battle royale. The player count on specific modes like regular BR and ZB will go down a bit but at the end of the day epic would still me getting more players than they would now, maybe not peaking OG but could be maybe half of that. Basicaly just add more modes that feel like fortnite that arn't necassarily battle royale centered

Not sure if this is an isolated incident but Wrecked absolutely wrecked by performance in Fortnite with dropping my fps down to 23-30 fps while I had previously been getting between 180-200 fps, and not feeling like trying to fix it I moved on to other games to play and shit to do away from gaming.

I liked Chapter 5 at first, but honestly after a few months I don’t want to support it. It’s not bad for say, but it’s not Fortnite. This new mode felt like Fortnite with the gun play, the items, the color, and it giving off the energetic vibe I loved back in 2018.

It isn't that Battle Royale is dying, it's that they aren't doing anything right with it. Fortnite could have the longevity of games like TF2 and Counter Strike if they weren't to change things that don't need changed and if they weren't as experimental for a game that left beta 6 years ago. You don't fix something if it isn't broken. Changes like in chapter 4 are perfect and exactly where I draw the line in terms of evolving, graphical updates along with gameplay updates obviously. I'm not a big fan at all of any of the changes in Chapter 5 and to me they feel like they were done for the sake of it. Chapter 5 is a complete mess in my opinion as everything has been grounded up until then and it should stay grounded. I'm adding this point because of what's mentioned in 7:15 I personally think they should've taken influence on OG, Reload and past seasons before the layoffs and apply those things to current BR. It's what I hoped for OG to be instead of it only existing to gain a mass amount of players to rope into their metaverse ecosystem. There's a lot that's lacking polish that Fortnite has had before. It's a dilemma with how people want to speak out about the game but they don't know how to word it or get what they mean through clearly.

Fortnight OG season up to chapter 5, season 3 fortnight was on a great run been a longing time since we had 3 great seasons in a row Chapter 5 season 3 is trash and now we have reload(which is good) the game is spread so thin right now I fucking hate it. Wrecked to me highlights a issue that BR itself does, and thats introduce a new mobility item for the season, making the meta very fast. Though it had the Cars alongside the shockwave hammer and kinetic blade, which are considered more powerful. This season has the Nitro Fists, which are effectively an infinite shockwave thats sufficient up close, but Cars receiving a major buff and a better Slap(with one of the medallions granting you infinite of it), makes the meta hyper mobile to a point where everyone may just run away and easily do so, while simultaniously allow sudden third parties since everyone can fly to a fight that visual audio picks up. Alongside this is that Chapter 5's additions to the game are just overall not good, Medallions replacing Augments are the issue of Mythics that encourage camping a boss for easy elims since being guaranteed a advantage against other players while taking out a person/team while doing little work, Modding had worsen gunplay since almost everything is Projectiles instead of Hitscan, and changes to how Fortnite functions itself has made the BR mode feel clunky with either rough movement and/or having to go through multiple tabs just to apply some cosmetics instead of directly changing it. Im not surprised in the least bit that people returning for OG getting thrown into semi-toony Warzone is going to cause declines in the playerbase, while throwing in unbalanced weapons. And while Reload can genuinely be more fun, its also alot rougher in due part to hyper fast respawns and revives, and seemingly no real matchmaking balance to keep the game feeling fairish.

The BR numbers are only down because Reload is brand new. Also with so many people hating how extremely different the current meta has made the game, it’s most likely the people that are playing Reload are the ones that don’t like the current BR season. I’ve been saying for a long time that the BR could have 2 modes for both builds and no builds. One that is extreme and one that is extremely balanced. Personally I am not attracted to Reload. I've changed my mind on this season. I told you the cars weren't it in the beginning, but they grew on me. The game is fun and EMP's brought balance. I just can't stand this map. Worst map ever, imo, and also the worst weapons. This season's meta is fun, though. Reload was a huge win as well.

Personally, I think Reload should be a temporary mode. Something to bring back once a year as I said before in my video on the new mode. However, I think Epic should take what worked in Reload & bring it into BR. If they can find a way to mix more of the old with the new, BR will be much better than it is right now. I like Reload & I think it's really fun, but even with Reload, I'm enjoying BR more. And while I don't think Reload will be the downfall of Fortnite, it could potentially get in the way of BR if they kept it permanently. But those are just my thoughts.
