Thorn got a buff then nerfed it, then gave it a buff again, won't be shocked if they nerf it again. Like that's all this company really knows what to do. It's mostly why I don't ever bother using exotics because of this one issue. Gun gets put out, too strong then nerf it and buff it later on. Gun gets put out, too weak then buff it and nerf it later on. IT NEVER ENDS. Can't be the only one who noticed this patten for the past few years now but I'm just calling it how I see it.

All I want is for revenants to track to you faster and from farther away and for the soul devourer buff to last at least an extra 3 seconds in pve. One of my favorite weapons and it’s really good, but those 2 small buffs would make it perfect.

OG D1 Thorn was by far the best gun in all of Destiny. I hate how gutted it is now... but I understand lol. I got Thorn extremely early in D1, like the first few days it was possible to complete the quest for it. I hate it in D2. It's so weak and the registration of the shots and perks just don't feel anything like it did in D1.

Yeah. D1 Thorn was a monster. You could shoot three times and lose and the ticks of poison would kill the enemy guardian anyway. They hit for 9 damage 9 times, which was completely absurd, killing no matter what. The only way to survive was using weapons that replenished your health somehow when killing a guardian. The weapon was immensely busted until the nerf.

I've actually thought a thorn rework would be awesome. Instead of a kill giving you devourer and just refreshes and that's that, what if it gave you stacks of it and each stack gives you more burn damage. So maybe in the crucible after 2 or maybe 3 stacks it gives you enough damage to 2 tap with the burn and max stacks (whatever that'd be) could let you 2 tap outright? And in PVE this buff could go hard af and synergize beautifully with the overflow magazine

Thorn should absolutely be able to 2 tap again, I mean crimils dagger with adagio can two tap, and that's arguably easier to get going, just 2 crit 1 body from range, then 2 crit from range, it doesn't even need to reload like kill clip, I think if thorn gets a kill the next kill should 2 tap, it could be fun and balanced at the same time

Thorn definitely needs a buff, it sucks so bad, especially on console with controller. The 1 tick pisses me off so much. You hardly get devour most of the time anyway. Fan favourite gun that Bungie made worse in PvP. PvE is pretty good but would love to use it in pvp

@Aztecrossgaming - man the buff to thorn wasnt enough, the power fantasy of picking up the soul devourer and refined soul active is enough for the DOT, but when Exalted Truth comes out, that 140 is gonna leave Thorn trailing man. In the current sandbox, just Rose and a 5/5 Luna How's has already left thorn behind, let alone its exotic counter option - Ace of spades & Hawkmoon. Thorn just needs another range buff, its previous 69 was ok, maybe needs to sit at 72 to be competitive in the upcoming sandbox.

dame that aim assits to doing a lot of heaving lifting, cross hot the first guy in the shoulder, second was into their elbow as chest height, last guy well i mean his head at one point was in the cross hair but by the time cross bothered to fire they were already behind the sand and around the corner. I can see why he likes Destiny so much, the game is doing half the shooting for him. make me miss the days of Halo were you could legitimately shoot some ones earrings off, now you just need to be vaguely looking in the right direction.

Compare it to other HC exotics that can two tap. Esp. Sturm. It requires a kill from Drang, not itself. Proccing two taps by itself is too much, and I believe Thorn is in a good place as it is. Take your nostalgia and go play D1. 🤣

More damage in a second then can get even more with bait and switch weapons before this super even finishes the animation. You have no idea wtf you’re talking about😂🤦🏻‍♂️
