A springlock suit is supposed to be a mascot costume concept for a pizzaria made to entertain children, but end up being the perfect trap for a jigsaw movie. Imagine the situation, one of his victims wakes in a room, inside a generic bunny mascot suit, with weird appearance, a box in his front a few meters from him and a shiny floor behind the box, then, before he can move, a television on his left turns on and jigsaw does his expected monologue: _"You are now inside a Spring-Lock Mascot Suit, these springlock designs are not used since the 80's, because of their peculiar mechanism that makes it functional, and also deadly. Your task is to deliver the box in front of you, to the other side of the room, in less than 3 minutes."_ _"The floor between you and the goal, has a slippery substance, for itself, it does no harm, but you need to remember at all times, that you are inside this unique suit."_ _"There are a few rules about it, don't breathe directly on the springs, don't make sudden moves, don't move too quickly, if you sweat, the moisture will probably loosen the springlocks, and you will die."_ _"Any attempt to remove the suit is futile, and will trigger the springlocks to fail"_ _"In 3 minutes, the Sprinkler in the ceiling will activate"_ _"In that case, the springlocks will one by one, crush your body in a incomprehensible painful and slow death"_ _"You have now, 3 minutes"_

My interpretation is that the SL springlocks aren't slowly pushing the parts towards you, the pieces you are keeping wound are the physical locking mechanism that prevents the springs from pushing the animatronic parts back into place. When they are fully unwound, the lock fails and is unable to hold back from releasing the mechanism. The individual knobs are likely faulty parts that are slipping on the individual locks in the suit, and not the actual way that a user is expected to operate the suit in its purposeful setting

theres actually a springlock failure that happened in fredbears. some guy by an unknown name was getting help with william afton to put on a spring bonnie suit. this suit is another version of spring bonnie that was never used on stage. btw this guy was in that fnaf 4 mini game game when william afton was putting the mask of spring bonnie on the guys head. when william left the room the guy was finishing some of the easy parts of putting on the suit. but when he was finished and was about to leave the room, he hit his leg in a table and he got springlocked in the backstage of fredbears. his spirit would eventually haunt fredbears, freddy fazbears pizza, and freddy fazbears jr’s. and guess who that guy is. shadow bonnie from fnaf 2. after fazbears freights burned down, springtrap went to the abandoned fredbears location and for some reason they left that guys dead body in the backstage. springtrap took the suit off of him and put it on. and thats how scraptrap was made

What i think is true, is that BOTH the suit and the endoskeleton has the springlocks on them. That way William in FNAF 3 is already a fully rotten corpse with an endoskeleton in it, while in the books/novels, William is still alive and isn't looking like a zombie pickle. This is kinda being established with the Tales from the Pizzaplex's epilogues outright saying that the suit itself (the jester one) is filled with springlocks, with no endo inside, which is how Mimic gets crushed (seemingly) to death. That still makes William from the games an idiot, but he can be excused with having no time to get the endo out of the suit while being terrorized by children. Same goes to the Movie William, but, frankly, i think that in the movie the suit has JUST the endo springlocks, which is, like, the complete opposite of the books. I hope you got my point.

Watched for the review, liked your character, enjoyed both (and given you also do animations, I'll be checking those out too). As for the video, I hadn't seen the movie (I don't care about spoilers) and didn't realize they drew out the process for Afton's death. It really made me think that If I were caught in a springlock failure, I don't know which would be worse. Either a slow, drawn-out process (but a chance to break free if it's not the head), or an instant death (where it's hopefully less painful and assured I'm not getting out). Both are horrifying in their own right. Then again, just "Don't put the darn thing on in the first place." Cheers for the review! I'll be checking the rest of your videos out for the next couple days (and probably will be staying).

The Silver Eyes book probably has my favorite take, specifically from the description William gave to Carl. It’s a slow, painful, death. Even if the springlocks are instantaneous, you’re just sitting there without any control over your body, drowning in your own blood, along with the extensive bleeding. Unrelated note but while I don’t necessarily like the graphic novel’s visual interpretations in some aspects….I absolutely love the visual interpretation of Springtrap in The Twisted Ones graphic novel. The way the flesh has seemingly fused with the springlocks is amazingly grotesque.

8:26 If you pay attention to the books and games including the movie being a live action version of a book in a way we can see that it is a retcon of the game ones and how it's the same suit and condition as the 8-bit games one. In judging on the fact that the suit is just shown instead of being in the building Tells me that he did maintain suit just not the outside.

1:09 I mean, I sort of always assumed that springlocks were actually what connected the costume and the endoskeleton so when costume mode is there you're not sharing the suit with a mechanical skeleton. That being the endoskeleton is removed so the person can wear it. And given how this interpretation is basically death by dozens of springlocks stabbing into you simultaneously, it may arguably be a worse death.

The movie Springlocks (from what I see) stabbed just UNDER the lungs, which might be why he can say “I always come back.”

in my mind I see a 2015 KZbin video thumbnail of some guy dead with the title ''top 10 epic spring lock fails!''

Many theorists believe that in Fredbears Family Diner, there were 2 springlock failures. This is backed up by the two shadow animatronics which are believed to be the employees and the Fnaf 3 training tape.

due to fnaf not having any prior light in the film industry it would seem to get a wider and more familiar audience for the movie they ended up deciding to make it pg-13 which was such a big mistake 😭 the amount of love the movie wouldve gotten if the kills were better and the springlock failure was more graphic wouldve been insane. although i do understand the rating decision due to movies based on videogames only beginning to get popular due to film studios actually taking them as projects. still, it would've been fire if it was rated R. i can only hope that in a later movie they show William after the door was closed having a much more brutal end than what we saw in the first movie.
