I'm back at HQ doing another wash and talk but with the GT4 this time! The E36 M3 is here but I won't wash it until we're ready to do the detail series on it. Wahba and I got a lot of the parts ordered for the E36 and we have a pile of parts building up here at the shop.

I love my IK sprayers and foamers. Brake Buster diluted 10:1 works perfectly and is more than enough cleaning power for coated wheels. One pump session to get it up to pressure after filling. Then maybe a half pump session for each wheel. One fill will do all four wheels with a little left over.

I have been really enjoying the Aerator from Larry with Brakebuster at 5:1, followed with it full strength in the Pressol sprayer. Loving that combo, the foam does tend to cling better than from the foam cannon.

I used Paint gloss on the hood, roof and truck lid (horizontal surfaces) last wash. Used the same drying towels ... quick and easy. Definitely helps with dust and sh*t sticking to the paint.

For air foam tools I always find the large ones are the best for spraying down the wheels. The larger ones have better coverage when spraying on the wheel and hold pressure much longer. I don't like swapping from nozzle to foam cannon and back again so I just bring my IK Foam Pro around the car with me or I just forget the foam and just use a Multi Pro. I like your process as well though and it works great so keep doing what you prefer.

I used to only have 1 foam gun, so I’d use my ik Foam Pro 2.0 to house my brake buster. I guess it does take a little more time to pump & spray, but it also saves time from having to wash out your foam gun in the case you only have 1. Plus you’ll have a spray foamer laying around for other applications.

Great news on Cree. Their consumer LED products are the best quality/durability I’ve come across of the five or six brands I’ve used. But, like you said, access to the rest of their line is limited as an end user. I’m looking forward to what see you’re working on.

I have the Marolex Foamer and a few of their sprayers. I like them a lot. I've been using the foamer with Brake Buster for the last 1-2 years, but since I picked up the complete Kränzle K1122TST package from you during the Black Friday sale, I will be switching over to the foam cannon method as soon as weather improves here in upstate NY. I'll still use the sprayers. I really like using them for clay lube and also for pre-soaking for a rinseless wash. I've tried a few different IK sprayers, and they just feel cheap compared to the Marolex products.

I like using the hand foamer for wheels, fill it up halfway 1:1 diluted and pump it up all the way gives me enough to do 2 wheels. Would like to try out those foamers as ive been using Ik foamers for a while now.

Just a quick question, I’m assuming you have coated the exterior plastics and so on, any recommendations for cleaning and dressing the exterior plastics and rubber. I have access to Koch chemie, Swissvax and Colourlock most of their range of products through a friend however want to honour the OG source from Matt and team and OG. Any recommendations that Matt would use on the GT4 so I could use on my vehicle? Thanks 🙏

I have the IK foamer. The foam cannon is so INCREDIBLY SUPERIOR to the foamer that I still question why I have the foamer sitting the corner. Each wheel needs to have the thing pumped up again.

Pump foamers are great since applying the product hits every portion of the tire but I feel like I'm doing more work due to having to pump it. I've gone back to a standard industrial spray bottle lol.

If you put the Dundon headers on make sure you put a heat wrap on them first or they'll cook your ignition coils

I aim the leaf blower directly down into the mesh insert by the hood and turn on to pull power. Blows everything out through the front splitter. Never have an issue with water blowing up on the hood or windshield. How is your paint holding up in terms of paint chips? I have the same color GT4 and chips seem to get highlighted with the blue much more than I’ve seen on other colors, outside of black of course.

For the soapy drive off. Try running lots of clean water down the hood and let it run down the front vent. That should rinse out any soap.

Doesn't the Brake Buster remove wax from the wheels? I have the product but don't use it often, as I'm under the impression I need to re-wax. You probably have a different coating on your wheels? And, Matt, I love that you make the distinction between the one-to-one vs one-to-many models.

I use a lot of water for the vents/ducts to rins of the soap, after that I use my Makita 36V leaf blower and blow the water out of all the vents/air ducts. That’s the only way I can dry my GT4. By doing it this way the paint is 95% dry as well and you only have to touch the car at a few spots to get rid of the last few drops. Less chance of getting swirls.

I wash my car every week. I don't have access to a nice setup I only use a hose and buckets. So when it comes to wheels having a pump sprayer is a must. It would great if you carried the best one around for a reasonable price. I use a Adams x IK sprayer off their website, it's ok but there must be something better out there.

Get the IK Foam Pro12, put wheels on it, attach it to your wheel bucket. Before you start washing just pressure it up with your compressor. That could be an option I guess. I'm not a big fan of those pump foamers.

Enjoy these Matt. Question: Don’t have the luxury of a covered area to wash the cars. When I leave the foam on and go to the buckets it seems like the soap dries out fairly quickly and I find myself really having to rush to avoid issues this causes. Foam too thin or not the correct consistency.? Seems to be similar to what I’ve seen here but would appreciate any advice.

Hey Matt You said you liked the foam of the marolex better...consider that brake buster is coming out of there genuinely at 1:1 as opposed to the foam cannon that heavily diluted the product depending on the pressure washer/foam cannon combo you are using. I know that My 1152tst with the pf-22 foam cannon with the control knob on maximum and 1.25 orifice does 1:24roughly, hence if you put the product straight up in the cannon what hits your wheel is diluted 1:24...this of course applies to prewash/snowfoams as well, that is why panel impact ratios are a big thing here in europe especiall Italy. hope this makes sense.
