I love your channel! I have my first decon and protection detail this weekend since being back to detailing after a car accident and many surgeries. I have to be honest I'm nervous been gone from the business for so long so much has changed. Its a 2021 burgundy Lexus that is garage kept and and very well maintained. Any suggestions would be so appreciated I really want to make this paint pop is a beautiful color ans has never been waxed or protected.

The OP eco wash is 4 times more concentrated then onr but is actually more expensive, same price as mckees n 917 about $50/gallon when calculating in dilution.

WW here, I use mother's clay mitt that's attached to what looks like a windows 98 PC mouse. Works great but not on concave surfaces. I remember you recently said in a video your favorite was discontinued but now that you confirmed TRC blue mitt is the same I can go out and get it. Thanks!

The OPT clay mitt is supposedly still available, just they had to pull it due to product naming issues (legal). If you call OPT you should be still able to order it.

You appear very thrifty and value conscious so I'll assume you've found the OP products to be worth the premium price. Ceramic Detailer is $50 a quart and you said you used about 1/4 of that bottle on the Lexus. Would you comment on that? I'd love to hear your thinking. Great videos. Keep them coming.

Madame, thanks for your review and tips on different products and approaches to use and have the job done in a shorter time. I have purchased that same clay mit towel from The Rag Company because it was discontinued and is one of the best I have used too. I totally understand how you have to handle your job and kids specially now because of the pandemic. When we didn't have this pandemic I worked sometimes remotely from home handling my four sons. I still have my regular job but 6 years ago started doing detailing as a side job on weekends since 3 of 4 sons are at Kentucky sin e 2017 and my oldest is with me learning and working on this so he pays part of his university. Wanted to let you know that there is a clay bar from AM Details that instead of using a clay lubricant, you only need water as lubricant with it so it allows you to save money. I use a variety of rinseless washes. Great (and not so great) thing about them is they require so little so they last a REALLY long time.

I just did a 07 black jeep grand cherokee. Its only ever seen car wash station type of washes, and maybe 2 actual wax applications its entire life. So you can imagine the paint is thrashed very badly. I could only do so much to it for paint correction without being crazy (pulling out wet sanding every inch of paint) . I washed, clayed, cut, polished, sealed. Took me roughly 9ish hrs. But what had me wondering was, sometimes i feel like i take too long on some . But maybe thats just me? Idk. Maybe im crazy lol.

I completely agree with you! I’ve been a serious weekend detailer for 25 years and it just simply takes a lot of time to do a “complete” job. Apex Detail often infers that he can get around the car quickly with his correction steps but I think he has quite a bit more time than I do at the moment (2 kids under 3). So your 9 hours for that car actually sounds pretty good!

Yes! Apex detail is another reason why i feel i work too slow. When i watch his videos it feels hes doing mach 3 paint corrections lol. Maybe its just all in my head. I do know i have to explain to customers that it may take basically all day just for the outside and they look at me confused as to why lol.

Im looking to buy the OPT ultra clay towel, I’m tired of Nanoskin clay towel. Do you put the ultra clay towel in a bucket of water sometimes or bucket of onr solution? Just to rince it off or lower the temperature if you work in sunlight? Tks Chelsea, like we said in French 😜

Why would you use spray wax as a clay bar lubricant? arent youre just pushing around the contaminants into the sealant ?

No. The rinseless wash loosened the majority and pulled it into the sponge and since it's a water based sealant any dirt goes into the clay bar or towel when you dry. Paint is squeaky clean when done and safely lubricated

I need to try these. Do you like this system better than the Optimum products? Have you tried wash/clay/protect using the Mckees37 products yet? I've seen Yvan use them on Nick's channel, and I'm curious if they work a little better.

I prefer using ceramic detailer versus optimum spray wax because I find it's just better protection and a better look but you get very similar results. I haven't tried it using McKees 37 products but I would imagine you get fantastic results using their rinseless, clay mitt and maybe something like trademark extender spray wax but I'm not sure if it wouldn't Marr. I also imagine if you were to use their new Sio2 rinseless wash you could potentially do the rinseless wash, clay and be done and it would have some mild protection within it.

Do you prefer the clay towel over a premium quality clay bar? I haven’t used the optimum towel but another brand and found it to be more abrasive than clay.

If I am planning on polishing I will use the clay towel everyday. If it's soft paint and I'm not polishing I will use a clay bar that is fine grade but I'll be honest with you I inspected the paint after doing this technique and there wasn't a single marr on it. Paint wasn't perfect going into it because of going through a car wash but I can tell what are brush swirls versus marring from a clay towel and there was no marring. It's all about proper lubrication and a soft touch.
