What a 4C hair INSPIRATION!!!!!!!!!!! I've had 4C hair all of my life--and I've been natural for decades. I know this may sound crazy, but in all that time I never *looked* at my hair. LOL...I would braid it, plait it, twist it and I had locs for years. I only paid attention to the overall style I had my hair in, but I never took a close look at the curl pattern of the individual strands--until I started watching youtube videos. Now after I wash it, I actually look at it, admire it and love it. And it's all thanks to youtubers like you that are showing us how awesome it is to have this hair. 4C hair is beautiful!!! Thanks so much for sharing your hair with us...:)

I think all Afro-textured hair (whatever you want to call it) has a curl pattern; it's just that not all have a *high* tendency to form clumps (visible, grouped up curls). I do think water-only washing as well as finger detangling cause curls to clump more... based on what I've seen and/or experienced. So glad this method is working for you. Your hair is beautiful.

Dreamed that I had long hair like yours years ago. I'm determined to get there. God is so good to have blessed you with such glory! You truly are an inspiration sis!

If you finger styled from your ends to the roots it would bring out your curl pattern more. That same motion you are doing on the ends take up to the roots as well while under the water. Thanks for sharing your journey. My hair is 3 inches long and I love this method. My coarse hair is so soft, clumpy, and beautiful. I can't believe for the past 500 years we thought our hair was so unmanageable.

FABULOUS hair! It looks to me like you have lots and lots of curl. Because the texture is different, the curl pattern (definition) manifests differently. You've got hair like a beautiful doll. If there was a doll that looked like you with gorgeous hair like yours, I would buy it! Congratulations on finding another process that works for your lovely hair! Thank you for sharing with us. It is so much appreciated.

Your hair is amazing!!!! Such an inspiration. This should prove to many that less is always more. Products are fun and may serve their purpose but you don't need a truck load of them to attain and maintain healthy luscious hair. Also, I've always thought that 4c hair had the most curls hence the shrinkage but I guess they go unnoticed because they are incredibly tight and tiny.

Your hair is amazing! I was watching an Anthony Dickey video (he is a natural hair cosmetologist) and what he always does is add a boatload of conditioner to the hair to keep the curl while wet. I would love to see what that would look like with 4c hair. Maybe one day you could possibly show us?!

You were the first one I have seen and I so appreciate you teaching about caring for our beautiful 4c hair....and I absolutely love the length of your tresses...I want that for myself...so I am declaring it in the spirit and praising the Lord for it now...with expectation! Be blessed and Thanks again for sharing! Agape.

+Forever Blessed The way she does it is how I do a wash and go too. No products needed except a little oil on the hair ends and that's optional. Since I finger detangle the hair clumps and I get the same results some have who have added a cocktail of stylers and gels put in using a lot of manipulation.

I wanted to get away from so many products because a lot of things weren't working for me and i grew tired of wasting money looking for THE product(s). Your hair looks nice and healthy. If you are looking for more of your curl definition to come out, the water alone isn't really sufficient. Have you tried a natural curl definer like flaxseed or aloe vera gel? I find these to be very light but great at defining kinks. The coconut oil is great for sealing the moisture from the water in but doesn't really define the curls (if that's what you're looking to do)

I've been doing water only washing and enjoy the simplicity and lack of products but have been struggling with the dull look the hair gets that I notice in your W&G as well. I believe MHM defined the curl pattern more and left the hair looking shinier, although, definitely more high maintenance.

Great hair, awesome shrinkage. Can you still use Shea butter and leave in conditioner when doing the water-only method?

Shea butter is better because it doesn't have unnatural ingredients such as your leave in conditioner and commercial products. Shea butter is natural from the earth and it doesn't strip your sebum

She does have a curl pattern it's just not defined, I guarantee if she did the MHM it'd come up in no time... In my opinion 4c hair is usually small tight waves rather than curls/coils. On that note, her hair is beautiful, so long and healthy and I cannot wait to get my own 4c hair this long
