I used this pump to replace the pump on a Ecell 3100 PSI pump. kzbin.infoUgkxEU8wdEWW31diRsOawsCNfWEho39M27qd The model # is PWZ0163100.02 for those looking for a matching pump. It went on very easily - 10 minutes at most. Feels like a lot more power than the original but that's to be expected. Can't tell a difference when cleaning with the wand or floor sprayer. Would recommend as it was cheaper than most I found. The maintenance free aspect is definitely a plus too. Have used it through about 6 tanks of gas and have zero issues so far.

Thanks! I am glad I didn't order anything too quickly. I used the process of elimination, so I knew it wasn't the lid lock because there was sound when I turned on the spin cycle. I was thinking maybe the other doohickey (forgot the name of it). You helped me a lot because you said people could use their wet vac to drain the washer...I did that because I was about to use a cup. You said the filter could be clogged. I didn't see any obstructions but because I was alone, I blew into the hose. Viola, there was resistance so I blew until there was none. I hooked everything back up and everything is working fine now. Thanks! I didn't have to spend one dime. I am guessing the 47 thumbs downs that you got, were from people whose problem didn't get solved. You did a great service for me. " Any-who," no more water on the floor and now it spins.

Cheers man. Didn't want to go to bed without sheets. Got everything sorted within half an hour, a small cotton ribbon had gotten in there and was jamming up the motor on our Fisher and Paykal toploader. I had to leave the overheated motor to cool for a while before I could take it off, and it got a little bit wet, so I held a hair dryer over the motor windings for a few minutes before reinstalling it. Much quicker and easier than getting the landlord to try sort it. Tyvm for the good video.

Something to note: there's a rubber hose that is connected to the drum and to the drain hose that takes the water out of the washer. That hose was clogged from washing rugs and pieces of the rug backing came off and was my problem. The hose is held in place by 2 snap rings that are easily removed. IMPORTANT: to remove the hose from the drum after removing the snap ring you have to TURN the rubber hose as there are notches. If you just yank it off you can rip it. I used my shop vac to get all the gunk out. I then also used diagnostic mode to run some water in the drum and turned the motor on and expelled the water back into my laundry sink to catch any extra debris. Glad I did, I had to do this a few times to get all the stuff out. I hope this helps someone else.

Now i suspect mine has the clogged hose issue. Water backflow into drum even the pump worked hard to pump out the water but maybe the water cannot exit fast enough and some still left in the drum. Then the next cycle cannot hapoen due to the pressure switch not turned off.

I got mine cleared thanks to your video, so thanks :)) My case didn't go as you showed though, so figure I'll give some details in case it helps others. So I clearly have a different model to you going by what I found on opening it (plus the control panel), but anyway, mine completely blocked up after I washed a rug that was supposed to be machine washable & it shed a TONNE of cotton blobs! I'd managed to complete that wash, with it making weird noises & with chunks of rug in the bowl, so I cleared out what I could & then ran it through just with water to try to clean out properly & that was when it blocked completely for me. I tried letting it rest then starting again numerous times, didn't work, I tried shaking the bowl a bit, didn't work, then I took it back to a full wash cycle & let it agitate for a while & that cleared the blockage enough that I could get the water to slowly drain with the machine's drain cycle - while seeking out a solution on the internet & finding this video. I put it through spin a couple of times, hoping to clear all the water (worked, but the smart thing would have been to turn off the taps & clear the water from them into the machine & then via the spin cycle before disconnecting too). When I turned the pump thing to disconnect, I had no water come out at all :) It did stick a little though when trying to turn it & then I heard a snap & a piece of plastic fell out. I have no idea where exactly it was from & doesn't seem to stop it working, I think maybe it's some sort of anti-tamper clip. Seemed to have been located on the side of the pump that is closest to the front of the machine & therefore completely out of site when the machine is tipped up as per this video. Probably possible to feel or look for if the person knows there's something there stopping it turning & it probably can be uncliped instead of breaking I would think. Ok so pump off & mine was 100% clear! no blockages whatsoever on it, however there was a tail of cotton muck from the rug hanging down from the machine towards it. I spent the next hour or 2 half under the machine, with a portable light & a mix of pliers & tweezers, prying the rug muck out of the plastic area directly above the pump (there were 2 half toothpicks in there too, no idea how long they'd been there for, but at least a few washes). I would suggest to anyone following this video, while you're down there, put your finger in & check for any extra muck in this section of your machine (although I think it might be different because of being a different model). Finally I got everything I could out & it appeared to be prettywell clear, so I examined everything trying to figure out where the plastic clip came from, but couldn't figure it out, so re-assembled & hoped for the best. I ran it through with just water & on draining, more cotton muck from the rug came out the drainpipe, no idea where that had been hiding, but the weird straining noises were gone & drainwater was coming out at full speed. On the rinse, very little muck came out, so it seems like I probably have it all out now. I developed a water leak into my machine's bowl though, no idea how/why, but the pipe along the top, near where the water fills the machine was dripping. It was bad enough that it was clear that if I didn't turn the taps off after using the machine, it was likely going to overflow within the week or so that I often go without using my machine & was also a problem in terms of re-wetting spun clothes before they could be removed, however running the machine through a number of times seems to have reduced, if not completely stopped the leak now. I assume it was probably something to do with the angle the machine was on during the cleaning, dunno, but if anyone else gets this, run your machine a few times before turning off the taps & calling a repair person, as that will probably fix the problem (hopefully) First run through did nothing to reduce the leak, second run through I used warm water (first was cold), not sure if that was just a co-incidence or if that made a difference. So anyway, hope that's helpful for others & thanks so much for the video Extreme DIY! Wasn't that "extreme" at all, was pretty simple after watching your video, so much appreciated :) I wasn't that worried about the money for a call out, but rather that I have a really busy schedule for the next couple of weeks, no chance to get a repairman in, & really did NOT want to go that long without a washing machine (have clothes I need multiple times during that time for really dirty work), so this was a lifesaver for me :)

Crisis averted! Thanks! My Whirpool washer looks nothing like this, but I still found this helpful enough to save the day (and Xmas). I'm a 40-year-old single mom with no money in the budget for repairmen or new appliances. I thought I was totally screwed after pricing new washers. I had to drain the thing using a dog dish bowl lol, which took about an hour. I soaked the rest of the water up with a blanket and tipped the washer up on its side rather easily. Luckily it's in the basement next to a drain because there was still a fair amount of water coming out. I'd had everything unplugged and water turned off prior. I just found the part closest to where the drain hose connects and figured that's got to be the pump, and sure enough! As soon as I unscrewed that cover, one of my daughter's socks was very visibly clogging up the pump. It also smelled horrible like mildew and burning. Luckily the motor hadn't burned out yet. Sock removed, cover screwed back on and tipped the thing back up. I ran the diagnostics according to the "secret manual" (that booklet that they try to hide inside the machine that says "technicians only" or something pffft) and this time the pump worked! All of the other tests work too, and I'm washing a load in there right now. Thanks again!

I just had a repair guy here yesterday for that same machine, Fisher & Paykel GWL11, he didn’t even look at the pump, just heard the grinding sound and said I need a new pump. I assumed he knew what he was talking about until I just found your post. Then he said they don’t make this pump anymore, that I would have to replace with a difference pump, & since it’s a different pump, the control panel would have to be replaced too with it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ wanted over $850 & no guarantee it would be fixed. I am going to try this tomorrow & let u know.

A quick note - the symptom of the washer stopping and failing to rinse and drain can be caused by a piece of small clothing getting stuck underneath the center agitator spindle. In my case, it was not visible and I only recognized this when I went to spin the agitator spindle around and the rinse cycle began to run. I fished around underneath the agitator and pulled out a small piece of clothing. Removing said clothing item ultimately resolved my main. Unfortunately, I didn't know this and ended up doing a pump replacement as "preventative maintenance" instead of problem resolution. *My lid-closed sensor apparently failed during my work on the unit, so I jumpered it with solid speaker wire and put it an order for a new door sensor. I followed this gentleman's instructions for the lid jumpering. As he points out, unplug the unit as your first step - even before disassembling the unit to get access to the switch connector. A good idea if possible is to unhook the drain hose from the back, and try to shop vac as much water as possible out that way too. Helps a lot if you can do it. Also, make sure all the water is out before you try to use it. A lot of machines will overfill if you don't

Great video. I've watched a few of these in the last day. I'm really getting into it! Yours had excellent camera work, and the lighting seemed ok. Both the camera steadiness and light were WAAY better than the next best video, which also had great info, but the shaking and dim lighting were very painful. So well done The first reason I read all the comments was to see others reactions to you having one male hand, and one female hand with lovely red nail polish. So you should probably shave the hand on the left, and make sure you re-do your nail polish as soon as the machine breaks next time!! ..I'm soo surprised there are no other comments about your hands.. It's as if people are focused on fixing their machines..
