Washer not Draining? Here's Why!

The washer pump is what allows the tub to drain during the spin cycle. Sometimes it gets clogged due to a restriction such as a sock etc. On this one I show you how to check your washer pump as well as how to inspect if your pump is faulty.

I really didn’t want it to be a sock in the pump, but it was, so I watched this video and now my washing machine works again, I’m very grateful to your for showing me how to fix it :)

Thanks for sharing. I have a kenmore stackable and the maintenance dude couldn't fix it. I got in KZbin and found this. Simplified. Easy to understand and follow the narration. Thumbs up , subscribed 👍

THANK YOU SO MUCH Sam! I also had a sock stuck in the drain pump. Your video showed me how to disconnect the hose properly and gave me the heads up about taking care of the water inside the tank first!

Great video. One correction. It's not the sock that knocked off the belt. The belt comes off when the spin cycle is lopsided.

Tnx for your tutorial, hey mine goes through the complete cicle but my clothes still come out soaked wet, i did replaced that draining pump but still doing the same, any advice please. Mine is a GE washer/dryer combo space maker. Same pump.

Mine will fill up with water, but that’s it. Would that be the agitator & the drain thing? Or just the agitator? Or vice versa?

I have this same washer dryer setup & it’s not draining on the “normal” cycle but it drains perfectly fine on the “delicate” cycle… what gives?

I will be working on one that is full of water, and the water won’t drain and the renter states there’s a smell of burning. I’m assuming a sock or similar item got ingested inside the water pump. My concern is how long the motor may have been locked up or stuck. Have you dealt with an issue such as this before? Could the washer motor have been damaged during this described issue I am having?

Hey! Did you ever figure out what happened to yours? Mines has a burning smell too!
