I moved back to Florida in 2017 and bought a mobile home in a nice small area of central Florida about 20 miles from the west coast. The first year back a hurricane hit the Florida Keys and destroyed them and headed north to where I was. I left with my dog with anything of value and sat in South Carolina for 36 hours ready to just drive to North Carolina to find a place to live if my place was destroyed. Now I have a camper to hook up . And every spring im prepared to move in a few hours notice if i have to. These people never expected that something like this could ever happen to them and my heart goes out to them . I never expected that to happen to them ,i figured they would get a little wind and a little rain.

I didn't anticipate the destruction to the northern states above Florida to be hit so hard. Hills and mountains with the water running down the valleys collect at the bottom. Such a beautiful area, I was in Asheville NC 2 weeks ago looking at property to buy and had such a feeling of doom my 2 day stay I cut down to 3 hours and left. Now I see why. I used to live in a Class C and work as a traveling nurse in Florida, then bought my house in Arizona. Good idea if you want to live in these areas to be able to pull up stakes and leave. Only thing is a quick tornado is difficult to anticipate and out run at a moments notice.
