Part of that brilliant period of Pak cricket where unlike today, they used to win close test matches abroad. From Bangalore 87 till Calcutta 99. In between we had Lords 92, Hamilton 93, Sydney 95, Durban 98, Chennai 99 etc.. Should have won Barbados 88 as well had it not been such poor umpiring.

I am a huge Wasim fan but I guess Waqar was more lethal in this series. Akram mostly got tailenders and few openers, while Waqar broke the actual back of Eng batting line up, at crucial stages.

@CricketMania1 Yes brother. Especially his spell at Oval. In that series decider Pak had to get Eng out early in 2nd innings. Knowing their reputation in chasing even small totals in 4th innings. How they mess up things. Waqar got Gooch Atherton Stewart and Gower in a single spell with the new ball. England could not recover from there.
