This looks perfect for what I’m looking for - places close to home for a one or two nighter camp. Thanks for this!

I went to do the fireline track in November and it was closed then as well. I wound up at Marrinup campsite. Next time if it happens again I'll head down Drivers Rd and check that spot out, it's a bit more secluded!
@perth4b4adventures2 күн бұрын
Yeah it was pretty washed out from what I have been told. There are a few good spots along the river on that side of Driver road 👍

Nice setup! Shame about the mess left behind by other inconsiderate campers (or should I say "ferals"). The South West of Western Australia is renowned for it's feral campers. When I go solo camping I always take and set up 2 camp chairs, set a large dog bowl with water (even though I don't have a dog) and leave a few spent bullet casings and shot gun cartridges lying around camp. So far never been hassled!

Thanks and yeah, close enough for the 1% club to travel too coz they don’t stray to far from home.

A little input on the lavish vehicle setups and is it still camping? A lot of people don't really like camping, so maybe it's not still camping. They like to travel and see the sights or get to a fishing spot and put their feet up. Camping is just a part of what's needed to do these things, so in a bit of luxury helps. You see a lot of KZbinrs upgrading to a caravan these days.Even Jase and Simon have been carting a van around for years now. I think it's all still camping though.

Yeah we have certainly come a long way since the days of a tent, esky and air mattress that’s for sure.

Is it strict areas where you have to camp there? Or can you find a little spot somewhere else if there’s shit everywhere?
@perth4b4adventuresКүн бұрын
If you keep heading down the river you will find more spots along the river. The track is on the left as I came out of that spot, it follows the river to Quindanning. If you go the other way along the Fawcett track towards Dwellingup then camping is not permitted.

I think the lady at the gate house should educate all that enter to douse their fires with water.

Those park passes are starting to get a bit expensive these days.
@perth4b4adventures2 күн бұрын
Yeah that’s why I haven’t got one this year, not sure I see the value anymore.

@tonysmith9548 yeah when I was in the RAC that’s how I purchased it but I no longer am a member hence why I haven’t bothered.
@mrm68372 күн бұрын
Do you only need to pay for camping if you're staying in the designated camp area?
@perth4b4adventures2 күн бұрын
Correct however you still need to pay to enter the reserve if you don’t have a pass.
