Do Italians ever put freeze dried cheese dust on their food? I can get a block of fresh parmigiano reggiano or pecorino romano for £3 (€3.50) and grate it when I need it, and since it's hard, it can last ages, unless I'm making a big carbonara. Gram for gram, the dried stuff costs 60p less than the £3 block. I'm not Italian and even I can get through a block of parmesan, cooking for one. Why do people use the cheese powder? In the philippines we have this thing called a boodle fight where all the food is spread out on the table and everyone gathers and just eats it off the table with ur hands (or u put it in ur own plate but you get what i mean) but see in boodle fights, the table is covered in banana leaves and the food is arranged meticulously and its an opportunity for family and friends bonding.. its an actual tradition this kinda reminded me of that but like the evil, unhygienic version that should not exist

Like I made a comment earlier about how at my old college many students would just eat off the cafeteria tray to save water-since the trays got washed the same way as the plates, if you didn't need a plate, it saved water to not use one. It would be way more efficient to just use a giant bowl to mix your foods and serve the food on a plate like a normal person

If anyone’s curious, this trend came from a video of a large family that actually did this legitimately, it was nachos, and it was actually kind of neat cuz they clearly had a large family and everyone was excited and they had the human decency to completely cover the entire table in aluminum foil. Way more genuine and practical than any of these weird parody videos. I think it’s titled something like Thanksgiving Nacho Table or something, it was from a few years back but I’m sure it’s been reuploaded.

Dude I just watched the OG video and it was low key genius and looked super delicious. Like, they laid out the chips first, and they had all kind of toppings in little bowls in the center of the table so you could customize your nachos... Like if I had a big family or group of friends to feed, I wing actually layout some foil and do that. Brilliant tbh
