I don’t see what everyone is saying “someone distracted him” I don’t know much when it comes to rituals and such, but I feel like it has similar to the same affects as deep meditation. Whenever I have meditated in the past, you could walk right up to me and I wouldn’t break out of my trance. If Erik truly is doing some sort of ritual, than I’d say there is no one distracting him here in this video. I’ve seen Watain live before and at the time I was experiencing a very strong emotional trance and connection to Erik. I don’t mean to sound cheesy but I feel if you are a really strong spirited person in general you will be drawn out from the crowd. He stared me right in the eyes a few times, and I don’t even remember the show at all. I seen Mayhem right after, and Rotting Christ before Watain and remember both shows quite well, but I don’t even feel like I saw Watain, even know I was right in the first two rows of the crowd. There is something very other worldly going on during their shows.

It was sort of similar when I saw Watain a few years back, it felt like Erik had lasers comming out of his eyes or something. Great joke! Really made me laugh...but also think that its almost like saying some blues player or rock n roll, should sell his strat or LP, because it was made in the 50s. Yeah those kits were what they were. But i bet its used in a very high percentage of classic albums of that era. Therefore something that is quite critical if you are into recreating those sounds. But i may be wrong...im not a drummer.
@oldowl42903 жыл бұрын
@@sun6moon9 Nothing wrong with old gear if it is well taken care of. The only issue I have with old drums like this is that they are made with luan/mahogany which is a cheap, porous wood. It makes for softer, warm tones which is more ideal for jazz and less ideal for rock. Hard maple, birch, oak, and bubinga are the mainstays now. John Bonham and most other greats of the 70's played on maple kits, like Ludwig classics for example but many drums of the era were mahogany and or poplar with maple support rings. And I don't mind mahogany shells but because it's a soft wood it makes for crap bearing edges for the heads. You also get a lot more projection from hard wood without having to beat the crap out of them because a denser wood vibrates more easily. Therefore soft woods do not project as much and don't give as much sustain. Heads, mic'ing, and eq also contribute to the final mix but I'm speaking from pure sound / acoustic properties here.
@sun6moon93 жыл бұрын
@@oldowl4290 completely right you are...but dont forget. A sustainless instrument has its perks, especially when playing in a very busy way, for example like in a metal band. Still, I'm sure those guys aren't "offended" when I say this, since I suppose they don't care what I think whatsoever - and that is good: being free spirits, they sure as fuck do not need my or anyone's approval. I dig that. Plus, I hear the people in the band are nice guys, treating their support acts fair, being open and friendly to their fans... which is a good thing in my book. And hey, whatever my ideas about the ritual he performed here: it's quite rude to interrupt an artist's performance, and people have been knocked off the stage for less than this. @Brown Boy I'm there to enjoy Watain and I'm fond of their music and act. Don't believe myself in God nor Satan and all that religious bullshit anyway, but I love to see a great show and performance. But there's a difference in being a concerned about safety and knowing when to act or not. This was a very very clear moment of NOT knowing when to act. Totally misplaced in a very intense moment. And that was not the first moment the guy fucked up. It was all about him being present and able to make a band act to his standards because he thought he had the right to do so, but lacked a totall sense of craftmanship.

@@a_mata_sv Not that familiar with Watain's shows too, but him turning on his right side to make that death gesture you're talking about is clearly not a part of what was initially planned, so according to the video title it's easy to conclude the gesture was directed to the person who distracted him, mystery solved tadaaaa. And don't worry, I'm neither an english teacher nor a native speaker myself, and your english is good enough to be perfectly understandable 😉 👍

I was right there when it happened, at the front so this was pretty much happening in front of me. I work closely with a few spirits and one of them, Belial, adviced me to keep strong focus at the altar and not avert my eyes. Somehow must have looked right through this as I didn't even notice there was a disturbance until I saw how Erik spat at the dude and my friend told me he walked in during the ritual. Interesting stuff, thanks for the upload :)

Wicked man belials been with me in some dark times like when I was attacked by a past acquaintance with a meat cleaver the day of the blood moon eclipse at the same time as he swung the blade at my head an inner voice said to run towards the blade as a result it missed my throat and face wrapped around my head hand had less force.also though it was a summer heat wave I had been advised to keep my leather jacket on no matter the heat.the jacket was cut to peaces but only one of the seven blows made it to flesh so would be dead without belials guidance.I never doubt him ,watain are coming to newzealand for first time in feb just after the day of the bloodmoon attack and days after my 30th bday so thankful my ancient freinds helped me through that and made it possible for me to see the lawless darkness in flesh 2019 is my time .how long have u been communicating with belial if u dont mind me asking man??
@MickVon66 жыл бұрын
The Demon Belial would never 'work closely' with anyone about a black metal concert. You clearly live in a fantasy world. You won't find satanism in black metal. You have to look other places to connect with Demons.
@KingPaimon6 жыл бұрын
Mickvon6 - Read before you say something, I've been working with Belial for years and know him very well, well enough to recognise his energy signature when he enters a space. And ancient gods may appear wherever they want whenever they want it, they don't need a ritual space or incantations. Although a Watain concert *is* a ritual space as they practice magic on stage. Not very weid at all for spirits to appear there. Wether you believe in the existance of spirits or not is a different thing of course and entirely up to you.
