Rabbi Singer handled this like the pro he is. This missionary was WAY out of his league with Rabbi and he knew it so his hostile reaction was NOT a surprise. I'll bet it embarrassed missionaries or should have. :o)

He’s lying !!! Hey John, He's not factual at all. He is using circular reasoning and blaming Christians for the same things that Orthodox Jews do, which is using passages out of context. Isaiah 53 uses the singular in Hebrew and is not pointing to the Jewish people because they Are not innocent, or blameless, etc. It is speaking about an individual. Verse eight and nine speak specifically to Yeshua regarding "my people's rebellion."-- the Jews! Christians and especially Messianic Jews also read the Hebrew Bible in Hebrew, yet he still used the English. Lastly, Isaiah 53 was part of the haftarah readings during the second temple period. He is lying and using the same old arguments that Orthodox rabbis use to show their authority over the scriptures.

@@jcmoye1 I'm not a fan of orthodox rabbis at all, so I can agree with you on some part. About the singular part, in Hebrew Bible singular part used many times when talks about the whole nation. Not only here. About Isaiah 53, when you read more chapters of this book, not only 53, you will see the context. Every book in the world, when you want to understand the meaning of the author, you better read the whole story, not only one chapter of the book.

Shalom Byron hope all is well. Thanks for the reply. Let me address your 2nd point first regarding the body of Jesus. Using your logic I can ask the same type question. Why didn’t Jesus just parade his own resurrected body around? Why didn’t he present himself to the Sanhedrin and Romans. Why didn’t he just walk down the Cardo in Jerusalem saying “Hey here I am what up? Told you so.” The contradictions between the Gospel accounts regarding the Resurrection strongly indicate the whole affair is bogus. The ostensible absence of a body doesn’t exhaust all possible rational explanations. His body could likely have stayed on the cross and rotted away never making it to a tomb. In ancient times it was the ultimate final insult to pay to your dead enemies by letting the birds eat away their carcasses. Being that Jesus was crucified for sedition against the Roman empire, and considering that Pontus Pilate was later recalled from his post because of his extreme brutality even by Roman standards makes it highly unlikely he had the tenderness of heart to release the body to anyone. Especially to another Jew. And Jesus wasn’t special in having been crucified. Josephus and Philo document thousands of Jews being crucified during the Greco-Roman empires. 3rd point regarding Paul. There is no corroborating documented real history anywhere that He was studying to be the High Priest. Besides He wouldn’t have qualified. He was not a Levite. Only the sons of Aaron assumed the Priesthood. Paul in Romans 11 claims he was of the tribe of Benjamin. That’s a non starter right there. Given that he wasn’t even from Israel proper, and by his own submission from Tarsus in Asia Minor his claims to be a Pharisee that was tutored by Gamaliel from his youth are extremely dubious. And who would have gave him authority to persecute anybody? The Pharisees and Sadducees were rival groups. Paul working for the High Priest would be like Rosy O’Donnel working for Donald Trump. Wouldn’t have happened my friend. Paul’s efforts at converting Jews was really largely a bomb. He fought with the apostles that had known Jesus, his letters are feisty hit backs attempting to keep control of his fold. By 300 CE the religion is predominantly pagan recruits. The historical evidence for Paul or any of the apostles being martyrs is admittedly scant at best even by objective Christian scholars. It is based on probability given the history of the time period, but mostly on traditional stories. Nothing solid. Now the claim that “men don’t die for lies” is often stated, but just simply not true. For example thousands of Japanese soldiers during WW2 died believing the Emperor to be Divine. Thousands have died for atheist Communist governments believing there is no G-d. The willingness to die for a belief in of itself doesn’t constitute that the belief is true. People die for lies all the time my friend. And lastly it is the one and only creator The G-d of Yisrael to whom all will bow. Isaiah 45:23. Paul ripped that out of the Jewish scriptures and attempts to corrupt it like it is Jesus talking, but don’t fall for it. Finally rest easy my friend there is no hell. There will be judgements, but we’ll all find our way. HaShem is merciful. Blessings.

Hi Rabbi Tovia . My name is yosef. Im a spanish speaker , and also an english speaker . I really enjoy your shuirs .But sometimes i wish that you can put subtitles in spanish , because there is alot of spanish speakers . That would be very helpful for them . Because alot of rabbis dont speak about those type of subjects ( new testament , trinity , etc.) I converted many years ago , but sometime the spanish people ask me some questions, and im not a rabbi to answer those questions , and it seems like your the only rabbi that knows really well those answers . Im sure that there going to get a good answer . What i normally do , i send some of your videos to them but not all of them speak good english . Thank you very much ! @@4ucmikey: I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but I am reading from God's ACTUAL Torah (Tanach - the Jewish Bible, or Hebrew scriptures), and Deut. 10:16-20 ACTUALLY says: _"You shall _*_cut away the barrier of your heart_*_ and no longer stiffen your neck. For Hashem your God - He is the God of the powers and the Lord of the lords, the great, might, and awesome God, Who does not show favor and Who does not accept a bribe. He carries out the judgment of orphan and widow, and loves the proselyte to give him bread and garment. You shall love the proselyte for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. Hashem, your God, shall you fear, Him shall you serve, to Him shall you cleave, and in His Name shall you swear."_ That verse says ZERO about 'circumcision'! Circumcision is an actual PHYSICAL covenant between God and the Jewish people (actually COMMANDED by God!) and it CAN'T be 'spiritualized' away, as Christianity so blasphemously does! What you've quoted only says that God will punish those who don't follow His ETERNAL Torah - what point you're trying to make I don't know, because the Jewish people STILL FOLLOW THE TORAH to this day! THAT'S why they REJECT the false, pagan, man-made, anti-God, anti-Jewish, hate-filled, replacement theology "New Testament" that God NEVER gave to us! A large percentage of the Jewish people DON'T follow the Torah at the moment, but in Messianic times, they WILL once again follow it.

@@4ucmikey: Well, something seems to have gone wrong, because an adult who has learned Torah from the age of "4", DOESN'T spend all their time fighting against what the Torah says, and trying to prove observant Jews wrong! If you actually DID study Torah at 4 years of age, at some point, you went off the derech and stopped being Torah observant - for whatever reason. Is this the case? Are you now a Messianic Christian? Are you in any way hooked up with Christianity? I hope NOT!

That’s sad. I was a devout Christian until I started reading the Bible from start to finish. As I read the “OT” I started feeling a strong connection to Jews that I didn’t know where it was coming from. So, I got a Jewish study Bible. I started getting to verses that where sounding very Christian. So I looked at a Christian study Bible and then I looked at the Jewish study Bible. Both had completely different views and it was always the Jewish commentary that made the most sense in the context of the story. Needless to say, I am now attending a conservative synagogue in training. Between prayer and finding rabbi singer, it has completely changed my life forever! Baruch HaShem!

Happy for you that you found your way out of Xtianity. I can relate. But you also need to find your way out of Conservative (or Reform) Judaism, which are heretical branches of "Jewish religion". Perhaps you can find a Chassidic orthodox shul (Chabad, for example), that can enlighten you with Emet. You'll not regret it. I wish you well.

@@yefunehdavid1005 The only available where I live is conservative and a reform. There’s not a chabad or orthodox for hundreds of miles. Luckily the conservative is ran by a rabbi raised orthodox and runs it like an orthodox. I’m not converting and welcomes my attendance. I have asked many questions, read many books and check his answers to them. I also belong to groups where I can ask orthodox rabbi if I can’t find the answers. I haven’t found any noahide connections where I live either. Also belong to the noahide nations group to learn from as well. I’m well aware of certain things pertaining to conservative and reform. I wanted a place to worship as close to orthodox as I can for now. HaShem will let me know when or if it’s time for conversion.

Recently my eyes have been opening to the truth. I asked the nearby synagogue if my family could attend as Christians since I want to be more Torah observant and learn more. They didn't even answer me. I wish all rabbis were as informative and patient as you. That would spread the truth a lot more than just shutting Christians out and ignoring them. I just joined a baptist church months ago and was never that religious so I think I have a more open mind than most. I don't believe everything they teach there. I have a long time Jewish friend who has been kind and is guiding me so I'm glad. After listening to you I have changed a lot. Thank you.

Sorry Rabbi that, that Christian said the F word to you but not all Christians behave like he did with you. It’s not that we don’t read all of Isaiah 66 chapters . I read all 66 chapters of Isaiah. however Isaiah 53 is remembered most frequently by us Christians because our main message is that Jesus died for our sins! So that we have eternal life. If Jesus doesn’t die for our sins then we have to die for our sins. And in that case there is nothing we can do to bring about our own salvation. Because we are doomed to die for our sins. That’s what we try to get people to understand without his blood atonement you have no forgiveness for the sins you commit. And so there is no eternal life for you in Gods kingdom to come. The Torah says if you sin then the penalty is death! How then do we expect to escape from this death penalty, and into the mercy of God ? The Jewish argument is that God will simply just forgive you of your sins if you repent. But in Torah we find Gods saving grace doesn’t work that way. You need a blood atonement! Some one dies in your place! Because if The wages of sin is death. then mercy and grace is not just a simple I forgive you type a thing. It involves a substitute in your place! Because we are dealing with a divine law that demands the sinners to pay for their sins! With their blood. I will give two examples of this (1 Adam and Eve sin and yet they did not die for their sins! Instead they were covered by animal skin as their clothes so this means a creature dies in their place! (2 Isaac was supposed to die on the altar of mount moriah but instead of him a bull died in his place! And that’s how Gods Grace works! You need more than just repentance! You need a savior from your sins! You need Jesus to save you from your sins!

He’s very knowledgeable on scripture, old and new. However he has to realise (and I think he does) that it doesn’t matter if a Jew tells a Christian that the scripture doesn’t refer to Jesus as it’s referring to Israel or if a certain psalm refers to David himself and not Jesus. It really doesn’t matter if the Jew says we don’t understand the Hebrew. Our Saviour, the man we believe was the Messiah, “THE Son of Man”, “THE Son of God” said that all the Prophets including Moses, spoke of HIM. He said Abraham seen his day and was glad. So you see, there is no argument with us, it’s with Jesus himself. You say the scriptures don’t refer to him and he said they do, ALL of them. We believe him, you don’t.

But I always was encouraged to study and ask questions, and it is very plain when I read the entire chapter of Isaiah, that chapter 53 references Israel as 'the servant' as it was written within the context throughout the whole chapter.

If you read it from verse 1, in the Tanach (Hebrew/Jewish Bible) the margin note for that verse says: _"As he prepares to prophesy regarding many countries, Isaiah stresses that God selected him for this purpose."_ Please note that Christianity REFUSES to study the Hebrew scriptures - leaving them profoundly unqualified to interpret what the Jewish scriptures (Hebrew Bible - Tanach), as given to Moses on Mt. Sinai, ACTUALLY mean. This has lead to gross mistranslation and twisting of the ACTUAL meaning that God intended, in order to force Christianity's agenda into the Torah, where it was never meant to be. The book doesn't provide evidence for what to beleive. It commands it. The entire book is a command with threats of damnation. Both the new and the old. The source of mans control over other men. Religion is written to guide us. Use it for Good and get good results used it for evil and reep what you sow. If you beleive that every religious text is written by God, then you beleive everything you read. If you beleive that only 1 book was ever written by God then you must beleive that all the others are written to deceive people and that God only cares about some people and not all. I know very well that argument, that the servant is Israel, so in Isaiah 53 it`s the suffering servant. But you should read from verse 9. How can it be, when the servant should be Israel, that "he was given the grave (tomb) by a rich man" ? A whole nation sure can`t fit into a small tomb ! And as the verses continue, the Bible here speaks clearly about one man and not about whole Israel. And it says at the end of verse 12: "and HE bare the sins of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." Anybody can clearly see, that`s talking about the Messiah Yeshua !

Isaiah 53 always refers to Jeremiah 11;19 on how Jeremiah knew Christ and how I God would become the victim a lamb led to the slaughter house. Jeremiah describes how the Jews counselled together to cut Christ off from the living to not remember his name no more.....so it continues today....but Christ will return..... Jeremiah 11 speaks of how the Jews will start to follow strange gods and how they voided the covenant.

It would also be helpful to read some books on those subjects and buy yourself a Tanach (Torah, Prophets, and Writings (i.e. Psalms, Proverbs, etc.) and compare your Christian 'Bible' to what the Tanach says. So I say learn ask and do your best and seek The Will of G-d because as I've said in another post, Abraham was Adopted and for you who is not a Jew you must be Adopted and once Adopted you are a Jew and as a Jew you are part of G-ds Chosen People an Israelite. But can any of us take credit for being a Jew? No, G-d made me a Jew therefore it was G-ds Will that I be a Jew. So if its G-DS Will you will be Adopted as Abraham was Adopted. I've seen you have 3 Channels not sure if they are yours are another, I've never heard of a Noahide and Recontruting Judaism is The Last thing I'd say to convert to. Please Seek an Orthodox Rabbi because Reconstruction Judaism is a very Relaxed Outside The Bible Judaism and if your Goal is to Know G-d as Abraham knew G-d Stay Away from them. G-d Bless you.

If G-d don't agree with them they Reconstruct Him why? G-d does not charge so it will do nothing other than teach disobedience to G-d so if you want to Learn about G-d go to The Orthodox Synagogue do not go to The Hip New Way of G-d. @Gerald McFarlin Sorry, but this is nonsense. Isaiah is Yeshaaya (Yeshaayahu) in hebrew . The first part of the name is derived of the root יש"ע, which denotes salvation. The other part of the name - the letters יהו - is the name of God. Sun is "shemesh" in hebrew (or ha'shemesh meaning "the sun)

Yes, the bibical characters Samson, Esther and Judith do in fact contain some archetypical narritive structures. But that does NOT apply to the prophetic books (Jeremiah, Isaiah, Amos, etc)

The readings are- Isaiah 1, 5, 6, 11, 12, 24,27, 34, 35, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 49, 50, 51,52, 54, 55, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 65, 66 (And the Isaiah 52 reading finshes at v12), And Isaaih 53 when adjusted for hebrew section divisions, starts at 52:13. And as you see there is 49,50,51,52,54,55 so it does look like 53 is missing in that sequence. though indeed others are also not read such as 59.. there is a chance it was deliberately omitted. It's not clear to me when it was decided to read exactly those portions. But may be current readings are post christianity

As I a former birthed christian bible scholl from Kindergarden - 4th grade, 5th - 8th Catholic school, 9-12th public school , then a prominent Pentacostal bible college in FL, missionary in other countries, youth leader in youth groups in Ohio & FL, I have, over the past decade been asking myself why is the foundational scriptures of christianity no longer relevant to me as an X-christian, if Jes-s WAS my messiah & observed, remembered, & practiced all the Torah & was Jewish from tribe of Judah....?...? Which led me to the question, Why am I not living according to him AND Torah..?...? Well,as you know, he is NOT the messiah of Jewish prophecy to bring about peace and rule on throne of David in Jerusalem, in the rebuilt Temple ... correct me if I am wrong, I can NOT find in TANAk where that messiah has to come once, is revealed, then leaves, & THEN comes back to rule, ... I don't find it But.... I did find Torah Truth, and now am in the process of conversion, then to make aliyah in the promised land 😊... I am 49 and the past 9 years have led to this point, so much learned..... Never an ending of learing Torah 😌 Mashiah come b'ezrat Ha'Shem!

Little wonder that those times and those places and people also had "Triads" and ancient "Trinities" and "God" in threes and stuff. Acts 14:11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, "THE GODS HAVE COME DOWN to us IN HUMAN FORM!" ****** Then of course the abomination of the alleged blood "sacrifice" of Jesus Christ making the Most Merciful in to some blood thirsty vampire.
