Nice reaction Schnell. You know this would be the perfect time to react to their song "Home Back". They wrote it in response to the war in Ukraine. They are from eastern Ukraine and were forced to flee to Kiev to escape the fighting years ago. It is extremely personal to them and I think it is one of their best.

Wonderful Reaction. I look forward to your next Jinjer reaction. They are amazing. I looked through your videos and see you have not checked you Band Maid yet. They are an all-female Rock band from Japan. Not heavy like Jinjer but certainly talented and fun to listen to. They are one of those bands where you can't pin down their style with one song as each song is so different from another. I suggest Domination (live) or Warning (MV) as a place to start.

I'm getting emotional when I see you react to Jinjer!!! Wow!! I follow Jinje now for almost 2 years and I've seen every video and concert (youtube) of them and I do this every day (should I see a doctor..? 🙂..).. Try their older stuff beginning from 2010!!! When Tatiana still had her dreads! My favo's: Angels, Under the Dome, When two empires collide.. etc.. I think their better concerts are the ones in Paris... I don't think Tatiana gets the level of praise she's due for her compositional flair. Consider this: the lads compose some very complex cerebral music, with some really angular, proggy, timings alongside melodically dense slower chilled sections.... a final demo of this music is then handed to Tatiana, who then has to decide on subject matter, write lyrics (usually in Russian, then translated into English, then fettled syllabically to fit the music), decide which parts best suit cleans, growls, or screams.... o_O The fact that everything comes together feeling like it was written with them altogether in a rehearsal space is the proof of her compositional skills imho. Also, the music the lads write tends to be *quite* cerebral, sometimes to the point of coming across as quite coldly "mathematical". Tatiana then balances this out with some very human feel, with her tendency to use lots of bluesy scoops up to & down from target notes. Don't get me wrong, I *love* the music the lads come up with.... but I'm glad Tatiana is there grounding everything in *heart* :)

I've been listening to them for about 3 years or so. This song was my first hear of Jinjer. When I heard about their song writing style, my jaw dropped. I cannot imagine how seamless everything sounds even though the music is written far before the lyrics. And then she usually writes her poems out in Russian before translating to English. And then, like you said, decide on what vocal style will be used where. Don't forget getting full buy-in from the guys, too. Thanks for sharing that detail.
