Great video. I’m literally going big brake kits in all my cars except the ones that already come with Brembos. I get some factory brakes may be sufficient for most people, but as an enthusiast I always want more.

I’m with you! Standard brakes are totally sufficient for 95% of people, but if you push your car at all, you’ll quickly find their limits.

I put braided stainless steel brake lines and some high temp fluid on my 370Z's Akebono sport brakes and felt a firmer brake pedal. The biggest improvement in the handling was the reduction of the unsprung rotating mass with forged magnesium wheels and the Akebono two-piece aluminum hat rotors. The tires I have on my car are the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that are each about 3 lbs lighter than the OEM Bridgestone Potenzas. My estimate is that each front corner is about 22 lbs lighter, with the rears being about 17 lbs lighter. The lighter rotating masses at the corners also improve braking performance.

anyone with a brain will support better braking. Stock is sufficient for my needs, but I will be replacing the old brake lines , nothing lasts forever . I do question the folks who reduce the swept area of their rotors with a bunch of obsolete holes , favoring looks over safety. those holes were used when Porsche racing in the seventies had brake pads that produced a lot of gas. pads have since been improved

There is still an argument to be made for drilled rotors, but a good set of light weight slotted rotors are a nice upgrade.
