Thank you very much for the excellent review I am thinking of buying it, personally the game mode is not very important to me, I use it for office work, the two most important factors for me in a monitor are that the panel has a matte finish and that the minimum brightness level is as close to zero as possible (I am annoyed by monitors that even when setting the brightness and contrast to zero, the backlight is still very strong), could you give some information on these two aspects? Thanks

When the flashes were happening on marvel vs capcom. The side bars were flickering (with the middle of screen) when its supposed to be a static side bar of characters. It could be a one off issue but still you never know..

This monitor sounds and seems amazing. I'm just concern about the mate finish. Can't think of a single mate display I've had that I liked it. Semi I'm fine. But I don't know if their mate is kinda mate like my TV. Or like my old Dell that I hated. Thing looked like it had a grainy plastic on top of it.

Its not that bad because the fast ips used here makes it look good. Ots better than the sony m9 II coating and this is cheaper.

The version you have is due to when xiaomi makes these monitors. I too got last month. Could be due to manufacturer times and regions. I think hdr is nice but like I said in my first impressions a little dim. Sdr looks nicer overall.

Do you have a copy of john wick 4? The candle scene in the church. I wonder how the monitor behaves in there, if the candles look dim or bright in HDR. No need for a video just your input on it. Ill check the candles. It looks great. Just put a movie trailer looks good. SDR overall to me still looks brighter vs HDR. Even tho the numbers are brigjter in HDR its the shadow detail that is more visible in SDR. More options too

Im on the edge between this and the aoc q27g3xmn, i have seen both get great reviews but the xiaomi has seen some issues online with qc and some firmware issues so not being able to update is scary. which would you say would be the best purchase?
@blakusp2 ай бұрын
I have the AOC, the truth is both suffer from the same issues, flickering with freesync active (although oleds and VAs claim to suffer more from it than IPS) and possible red tint as I read in some reviews (I noticed it on my AOC). The advantage is that the xiaomi is IPS, no black smearing and the viewing angles and color uniformity towards the edges is much better than the AOC. The AOC suffers from a horrendous viewing angles and a pinkish color shift towards edges, although you are dead center to the screen… for content creation is a big no, but I learned to live with it for now. What I have read about the xiaomi is that it does not automatically switch to the last local dimming setting that the user set when activating HDR, which the AOC does. That saves time. On QC issues both are on par: I was lucky that my AOC arrived in perfect condition. Both monitors cannot update Still, if I were you, I'd go for the Xiaomi. If you can have some patience, maybe over time the units will improve in terms of QC and firmware. In my case, I'll hold out as long as I can with my AOC and as soon as I get the chance, I'll trade it in for the Xiaomi. Cheers.

So you would ultimately choose the Xiaomi. I was reading from someone on Reddit who owned both monitors said that the AOC has a better dimming algorithm versus the Xiaomi. Can you confirm this so I at least have 2 people saying the same thing or different because I Read a Chinese review of the monitor and they said the dimming algorithm on the Xiaomi was very good so I don't get what's going on in this regard. Thanks

I currently have a VA Samsung curved monitor and on black games the smear is pretty bad on dark games which is why I was very interested in the IPS Xiaomi G Pro 27i.
@blakusp2 ай бұрын
@@Junior305able the AOC, having 336 zones, its algorithm is impressive, added to the 4000:1 contrast ratio of the VA panel, minimizes blooming a lot, even with the local dimming at maximum. I use local dimming only with HDR enabled in windows, as I use it exclusively for content, games and HDR editing. It doesn't make sense to use local dimming in SDR (mainly for work) no matter how good the monitor and its algorithm are. But AOC did it so well that sometimes I forget I'm in HDR because I hardly notice the blooming. As I work more than play, I prefer an IPS display for its viewing angles and uniformity of color and brightness, and no smearing of course, being aware that I will only use its local dimming for HDR content. In case you didn't know, the AOC panel is a Quantum dot HVA (high VA / fast VA) manufactured by TCL, which has acquired Samsung's VA panel division and technology (those used in the Neo G8 for example) once Samsung decided to replace the new models of the Odyssey line with OLED panels. So the black smearing, is it noticeable? Yes, but very little and only for office tasks. In games, it is not noticeable, and I am a casual, non-competitive gamer, the clarity of movement and input lag I feel right.
