It doesn't need investigating, the information is public, it needs regulating: members of Congress aren't breaking the law at this point by profiting from insider knowledge, even though absolutely anybody else would be. I don't blame them. Voters are in a tough place. On one hand, we have a candidate promising to be an authoritarian dictator, who was ok with his followers attacking the Capitol building and stated he wants to terminate the constitution, on the other hand, we have business-as-usual corruption from politicians, yes, corruption at devastatingly massive levels. But I believe the difference is that we won't have much of a chance to reform anything with a dictator in charge. We won't have fair elections ever again, and what a dictator says, goes. But we can deal with day-to-day political corruption through a democratic process. We can actually push for legislation to reform the system. And that's why I don't begrudge the people in the crowd. The person they are there to see aside, they are way more likely to believe in a system where reform is possible.
