Wish I could've been in the room with these guys to tell my story...walked into a Rolex AD couple years ago & inquired about a GMT, sales associate looked me in the eye & said in a condescending way, "You'll never have one." Funny thing; I lifted up my sleeve & flashed a Coke & said "good thing I've already got one" she didn't know what to say. @@JayJay-he9bk yes you can. The fact that these are common experiences in ADs tells you Rolex needs to take control of their brand back. Had a new manager come in at my job during covid (not jewelry or anything). His philosophy is, if it's not bolted to the floor we'll sell it if it makes the customer happy. Yes, we have limits and hard stops but we're never against them about it. Somethings just can't be done or be done timely or easily. And we explain that. Everyone is understanding and Nico said it perfectly, "they're not an interruption to our work," they are the work. With that in mind, no one is looking for flak, especially in public or expecting it in places where one expect's that at THIS (any really) price tag, it won't be there. If they're looking for something specific and it can't be done, that just means there's a different sale to be made so make it. They're in the shop, guide them to it. At least they know they're welcome to buy something and you're open to selling to them. Even if no sale is made if they leave better off than when they came in then job done. They found a spot.

When my interest in Rolex ended was when I popped into a boutique between meetings. When they buzzed me in they look uninterested and asked what I wanted there. As I was replying, one of the employees walked up to me and, no kidding, looked at my shoes and walked away. They told me straight out "we do not add anyone more to our list". Your list? They sell plenty of watches under retail from Omega and Breitling. I do think Rolex will come back down to earth on the next 12 months as bills, taxes and energy costs start to bite. Great video, enjoyed every minute of it! Im sure there are plenty of snobby AD’s out there but my experience was actually good. I bought a couple of Omegas from the local Rolex AD. I was expecting them to look down on me as I am very much a blue collar guy. The sales lady was very welcoming and immediately asked how I was doing and if I needed help. She showed he her inventory and let me try them on and I made a purchase with her. She gave me her card and wrote her personal cell # on it and a few months later I made another purchase with her the second time I texted her ahead of time and she held a watch for me and I came straight from work so I looked a bit rough that time. Glad some dealer still know how to do business.
