It's maybe just my opinion but I feel these subscription boxes are a huge waste of money. I think that when you have your style figured out, you may only have use for one item in these boxes, leaving you with stuff that you don't need. The same goes with those watch subscriptions. Collecting watches is not about having 1000 watches, it's about collecting something that you care about. For instance only collecting chronos for example or only collecting watches with interesting case designs. I might be biased as most watches that come in these boxes are not my taste but I just feel it's a big waste of money. Instead of spending a 100$ a month on a watch that you might not like in the end, I feel it's better to save those towards a watch one really loves. But on the other hand if one enjoys it, that's also great.

More than $3600 a year, for that money you could get a beautiful Omega Speedmaster or almost a Breitling Navitimer which doesn't depreciate and is an actual work of art, not another Kickstarter Watch Co. with average movements :/ Not worth it at all, no one will buy these watches second hand either so it's a complete waste of money.

Fair enough, but with the varied nature of what you get, chances are that many subscribers will end up with hard-to-shift watches that don't add up to the value of a watch they could have saved for. Some people like getting surprises and that's fine, I just don't see the economy in this. Great review nonetheless.

Hey! I’m a college student looking forward to buy my first “Real” watch. I have a budget of around $200. Which watch do you think would be perfect for me ? Should I get a brown strap or a black one ? And should I get a silver watch or a gold one ? I’d like the watch to be the one for every occasion because I won’t be able to afford more. I’ll be buying a metal and a nato strap for the watch. Right now I have an Apple Watch, which I only wear while running, and a gshock which I wear while at the gym.

I may get shot down here, but for under $120 or so, I’ve always had good luck with the Invicta Pro Diver series, they have both Japanese quartz and Swiss automatic movements depending on pricepoint. They’re well built, good looking watches . I’ve had my stainless one for about five years, it looks good with a business suit or at the beach, and I’ve so far been unable to damage it.

Sorry just have to point out that the website was charging 990 euros not pounds for the watch so there is quite a big difference as 990 euros is around 865 pounds £ or around 1132 usd

I have to agree with most in the comments on this (and almost every other Watch Gang) video: save your money, do the research and buy the ones you actually want to wear. Half of the fun of collecting watches for me has been the research, window shopping and finally pulling the trigger on the ones I really want. This is coming from a guy that started with fashion watches, went to a couple more respectable brand-name quartz watches and is now into more entry-mid level autos. If you're unsure, find a dealer/brick & mortar store to try different styles on. I don't understand paying for watches you *might* enjoy and *might* fit your wrist or style.

Just buy a filippo loreti or Vincero watch if you want something that looks really nice, good quality at an affordable price. Watches from about $200-$600. Just got my Filippo Loreti Venice Moonphase blue gold watch for $315 before the 30% discount code I found online and I've got so many compliments on it. It looks nicer than several $800-$1500+ popular name brand watches.

I can see why a service like this exists especially if you like surprises or your not sure what you want but I personal feel like some of the fun of finding a watch is lost with a service like this. I am currently looking for my next watch and I have enjoyed looking online for deals, going into watch shops for and trying out new watches learning about the company's and movements and materials that are used in the process and taking the time to come to a decision on what I want to purchase. Also I am guessing this watch subscription service does not just send kick starter watches which may or may not seem overpriced deepening on your view but I would be worried if I got one and in a few months the company is shut down and I have to look for another company to service it. Also little side not for the modest man the currency was in Euros not pounds but I am sure you have been spammed with this message already :D

I really like that watch everything about it clicks for me that’s just my style. However I am somewhat concerned about a subscription service for the simple fact that I don’t have control over what I receive. On the other hand I like being exposed to new things that I don’t know about that I may like. I right now I’ve got a lot of junk watches from when I first started collecting now I am looking for nicer watches than what I have currently.I think I would join and be glad to pay the price if I could just refuse watches I didn’t like which means no quartz unless they were super cool.

Idk... with these watch subscriptions I’ve never seen a watch that I actually like even with the top tier memberships they tend to just look cheap. There are much better fashion or dress watch companies out there at that price point that looks very nice and not so cheap. Vincero, MVMT, and Grand Frank are all better options imo

you have not heard of this company because it appears to exist on kickstarter (where it's latest piece is currently sitting on pledges of the princely sum of $11,450 by 8 backers), I guess they offloaded some watches to watch gang because there are watch gang reviews going back to February. one of the saddest videos I saw was a guys 12 month supply of watch gang platinum watches. he had spent $3600 and got some watches I would expect to pay about $120 on in a market in Istanbul.

I was browsing for WG offerings that would lure me back for a month, just for the thrill of gambling where I know I will actually receive something. Well, this piece (let's just call it a "piece" (of something) convinced me that I'm better off just doing what I have done most of the time - save, or finance, for something I really want. What a ridiculous watch, honestly. And they added 2mm of thickness to that beast for what? A flat polished surface that states the number produced? Wow - what a colossal waste. I was expecting a display back (like a pocket watch) that was revealed or something useful. Guess it's a place to put a photo, like a locket? I imagine that these watches are the ones the manufacturer couldn't sell at the advertised price so in comes Watch Gang buy the lot at a ridiculously huge discount and that is how they make money. Are they passing on a savings to you. In theory yes. I personally wouldn't subscribe.

This design would have benefited if it was 37-38mm. This design at 42mm is like an ill fitting suit. I think the worst part is the thickness due to that stupid flip open case back. Stick a hand wound ETA in there, a display case back and call it a day. 990 euro too? Good luck with that. No wonder it's on Watch Gang.

Watch Gangs appeal is the GAMBLING aspect. The mystery watch concept is intriguing but not enough to make the cost worth it without MISLEADING you about your chances of getting something worth more than what you paid. If you pay for the $100 tier you are getting a $100 dollar watch. They literally have a wheel on their site that you can pay to spin... with a tiny slice that says ROLEX. If you look closely at the actually chance of landing on the ROLEX space... you'll see that the size of the slices on this wheel DO NOT CORRESPOND WITH THE ACTUAL CHANCE TO LAND ON THEM. If the wheel was visually honest... the ROLEX space would be thinner than a hair. They make it look like you actually have a decent chance when you don't. But hey just keep subbing and you might randomly get a GRAIL!! Its upsetting that this business model is working.

Serious question to any WatchGang (especially Platinum members) member. I’ve seen a few unboxing, but has anyone received a watch from a brand they’ve actually ever even heard of BEFORE the unboxing? Every unboxing video I’ve seen is of a brand I’ve never heard of and the person unboxing it has never heard of the brand either. I don’t know, if I’m wearing a supposed $1,000+ watch, I prefer it to be a reputable brand. That I (and other people) have actually heard of before.

But, in response to your topic, different people buy different products for different reasons. People earn their money and I'm not about to suggest they spend it one way or another. That being said, I generally wear nice brands and 99.995% of the population isn't aware of what luxury brand watches are (maybe other than Rolex) so if you're buying a Luxury brand watch for anyone's gratification other than you're own, it's probably a wasted effort. My original point is that watch gang finds watch makers who no one has ever heard of, with no established history or reputation, convinces them to set an msrp on the watch that sizes them up to their higher teir and ultimately sells a $100 watch with an artificially inflated $1500 price tag for $300.
