Your demos never fail to inspire me. No matter my mood, you always manage to lighten up my day. Even when it is night ;-/... Thanks very much. Also, I have purchased a several of your acrylic paints and the quality and colours are, somehow, quite special. Thank you for that!

This is so cool. And it's easier than firing up the acrylic paints for a quick page in the sketch book. Makes it more accessible to do the daily page. Thanks Nick! I always look forward to the "Sunday in the studio with Nick" posts!

Thanks Nicholas. I’m going to be travelling over the next 3 months to UK. These wax crayons are a perfect stopgap. ❤

Thanks for this Nick! I purchased these crayons from Amazon after a fellow artist raved about them. They're bees wax based and very creamy. The brand name is Ooly. They also have paint sticks called Chunkies!

Thanks for reminding me of crayons' unlimited potential! I used to do everything you did in this video when I was a kid (I even made coin impressions by rubbing crayons on paper over a coin). Sometimes when we get overloaded with the usual adult artist stuff and need something fresh it's worth going back to these childhood experiences for a bit of inspiration.

Thanks Nick. I started messing about with waxy crayons, labelled as Artists Oil Pastels, when I was bedbound. Useful to have when you can't reach the paint table. So i had covered a few pages in my note book and found them very handy to have around. I like the scratching you did here, must have another try with them. ❤

I spent my childhood coloring with my 64 Crayola box of crayons, and developed a lifelong habit of crayon sketching. It’s always so freeing, like being a little girl again and just sitting in the corner playing with my crayons, deciding which colors I like to put next to each other.

ME TOO. I never lost my love affair with crayons. The softness of wax based color is so freeing.

I really enjoyed this and need to get my crayons out. I really was amazed that when you layered certain colors that the colors became so rich looking. Neat process.

I have no regular crayons so I used Caran d'Ache, which are water soluble, so the effect was not the same but I enjoyed doing it, thanks for sharing the idea!

If you put a stencil underneath the page and color it really creates unique texture!

I'm curious to try this and would like to know what kind of crayons you used. It gave me some ideas, but I don't just want to buy kid's crayons if there are better brands. :) Thanks.

Hi Nick. Love your videos and podcasts. So informative! What brand of crayons do you use? Do you use a fixative on your crayon work? Thanks.
