I am just amazed that he could talk throughout the entire ride like it was no big deal. I would be screaming or gasping for air. Lol I have never liked rollercoasters over 55mph or over 70’ I can’t stand that falling feeling 😢

Glad they found a way to keep it open, but I'll miss the hydraulic launch. LSMs ease into the acceleration by nature (even the reporter said it was a less intense launch to 70 MPH). There's no replacing the absolutely shock of 0-120 MPH in mere seconds that you get with hydraulic or air. Still, glad they reinvented a classic and removed moving parts that could injure someone again.

I agree, its also preferable to losing the coaster altogether. It is sad to not have the super launch anymore but I think adding the looking straight down as you start the climb to 120 is a pretty good substitute. Definitely better than nothing.

Here's the thing: the lsm absolutely could cover 120 mph in one launch. I suppose it would just be too costly to keep that running as the power needed for that would be insane

The seats vibrate more than the old ones. Nothing to do with safety, rather Zamperla’s quality control and how the new seats are seated higher up, so a higher center of gravity, more force on it.

While the current incarnation of Top Thrill Dragster, Top Thrill 2, was refurbished and redesigned by Zamperla, the original ride was manufactured by Intamin, the same company that built Velocicoaster. Zamperla did make the trains, though, but I wouldn't be surprised if they used Intamin's overhead lapbar design under license.

0:25 I don't like that track switch on the high-speed section of the layout. I know there are multiple safety redundancies built in, but it still scares me. the trains will be passing over it at 100 mph, if it malfunctions there will be a mass casualty event.

its locked into place before the ride even begins, if it senses any malfunction it will not launch, rides like hagrid have them switching mid ride and the same safety precautions are used any error and it will stop the train before it reaches it.

@@buster5661 1. I've NEVER heard of ANY ride causing mental stress to anyone under normal operations. 2. Depends on what they've ridden. Like if they loved steel vengeance or Maverick (other cedar point rides with same height requirement), I'd 100% let them ride this, given they meet the rider requirements. I will add that I'd never force them on it I would encourage them if they want to ride bigger rides but of course if they dont want to ride I wont force them on. Anyways, parks have a policy for kids who don't want to ride. IDK off the top of my head what it is for cedar point. 3. You seem jealous or at the very least overprotective. So overprotective that you wouldn't let a kid play with a baloon because it might pop and scare them.
