The Apple Card is GREAT in a lot of ways (or should I say Goldman Sachs Apple Credit Card)! Click "Show More" to see Ad Disclosure.
It’s one of the best credit cards for beginners after building a foundation with a secured credit card. It’s one of the best cash back credit cards with no annual fee for those who like using a mobile wallet (i.e. Apple Pay) to buy things with their phone. And it’s also a really cool metal credit card with an impressive drop test and sleek design :-)

Before going further, IT’S TRUE, there are better credit cards out there if your #1 focus is to get the most cash back on your purchases. The best credit card for YOU will be based on your spending patterns and life situation, but a few of the better options might include: Wells Fargo Propel American Express Card, Citi Double Cash credit card, Discover it Cash Back Credit Card, Chase Freedom Flex card, Chase Freedom Unlimited card, Capital One Savor card, US Bank Altitude Go card, US Bank Cash Plus credit card, Amex Everyday card, Amex Blue Cash Everyday card, Bank of America Cash Rewards card, Fidelity credit card, PayPal credit card, Walmart credit card, Target credit card / Target Redcard, and the list goes on from there :-)
While this video is not a detailed review of the Apple credit card (that will come after I get the card in the mail), I’ll still share some of the reasons why I got it...
FIRST, it’s a very INNOVATIVE credit card. In fact, I believe it represents the future of credit cards, being that it’s mobile-first and digitally oriented. Because it’s a big part of Apple’s ecosystem, it’s naturally a very simple product (and that’s rare in today’s credit card world!). The Apple Card application process was VERY SIMPLE, and getting the card was even simpler! Rather than waiting 7-10 business days to receive the credit card by mail, it can be added INSTANTLY to Apple’s ‘Wallet’ app for immediate use! Then, as you earn Daily Cash back, it’s available for use shortly thereafter instead of waiting for an entire billing cycle to end. Lastly, the card management tools have been greatly simplified compared to other cards on the market.
SECOND, it’s very EMPOWERING to consumers. It offers great financial clarity and transparency. There are NO FEES (i.e. no annual fees, no over-the-limit fees, no foreign transaction fees, no late fees!). That’s really impressive! The visual dashboards are also great for helping you track your spending habits to see where your money is going. Added tips to help you avoid interest payments is a really unique feature, too (especially considering most banks want you to pay interest!).
THIRD, I wanted to get first-hand experience using the Apple Card. That way when it comes time for a full Apple Card review, I’ll be able to speak from real experience.
(And FOURTH, be it a smaller reason, is the fact that’s it’s a really cool metal credit card with no annual fee. An upcoming Apple Card unboxing and drop test will for sure have to happen) :D
(And FIFTH, this is Goldman Sachs major entry into the consumer credit card market, and I think it’s rather cool to be a part of that) ;-)
All that said, I really like how the Apple Card is putting more power and control back into consumers’ hands. A financial product that helps people make smarter decisions, build smarter money habits, and contribute to a better understanding of their finances is a good thing.

I got the Apple Card in August of last year before I had a “credit card hobby.” I literally only got it because I thought it was cool. I don’t carry the physical card but I use it for Apple Pay with %2 back. I also have all of my Apps And subscriptions come straight through it for 3% back. I know it’s not the best card, but for someone like me Who is newer in the credit card game, that 2% cashback almost anywhere comes in handy. Ps the “watch me apply” Videos are some of my favorites...Because I am gardening right now and watching other people apply gives me the Thrill Im missing out on LMFAO

Great that you use the Apple Card to earn 2-3% and ignore that 1%. HAHA I'm ""gardening"" too (yes, that's quad quotes) 😆🤙 I realized all I need to do is get to 4/24 for my next Chase card (initially I wanted 0/24 but that was short lived haha). Also, as long as we get 2 cards per year we'll always be under 5/24. OR just get to 4/24, get 1 Chase card, then go CRAY with other issuers lmao.

Mark Reese that sounds like a great strategy 2 cards per year every 6 months. I am currently in the garden until December of 2021; waiting for my age of credit to mature as well. Currently I have 4 cards in my wallet: Amex Blue Cash Preferred, Apple Card, Discover It and PayPal MasterCard.

@@callmeNeno - Awesome man! Gardening is the hardest part of the entire game 😅 Yeah getting 1 card every 6 mo. has been on my mind for awhile; not a bad strategy given how often Chase releases great welcome offers. SOLID setup so far! That PayPal Mastercard + Discover it go well together. Which card do you want most next?

@Mark Reese I'm hoping to get a "for you offer" in my Chase checking account, so i can by pass that 5/24 rule. I need a travel card for the Q1 of 2022, so hopefully this epidemic is in the past. I’ve decided I want a 16” MacBook Pro with a higher contrast ratio (easier to see screen working outdoors on a sunny day) and ARM architecture so I can use apps instead of web browser for a lot of tasks. Hey Chris! The min. score requirement isn't published. Here's what Apple says: "Goldman Sachs uses TransUnion and other credit bureaus to evaluate your Apple Card application. If your credit score is low (for example, if your FICO9 score is lower than 600),4 Goldman Sachs might not be able to approve your Apple Card application." Personally I'd feel good about applying with a 670+ and 1 year of credit history 😃👍

While not a strict rule by any means, I'd personally wait until I had a full 6 months of credit built up before going for a 2nd card. But since you're looking at the Apple Card, you could give it a go now. Fortunately, the Apple Card allows you to receive a decision on a pre-approval / denial basis before your credit report gets pulled. Here's the process: (1) Connect phone to computer via USB cable (2) Open QuickTime Player (3) Choose "File > New Movie Recording" (4) From the tiny white dropdown arrow to the right of the red record button, select your phone as the device (5) Choose "File > New Screen Recording" to record your computer screen with the phone video also displayed. Give this a go and let me know if you have success with it! 😃

hey can anyone apply for apple card from other country...??
@MarkReese
@MarkReese 3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Not yet. Here are the requirements at the moment from Apples site: (a) Be 18 years or older, depending on where you live. (b) Be a U.S. citizen or a lawful resident with a valid, physical U.S. address that's not a P.O. Box. You can also use a military address. (c) If you apply on a compatible device that you own, make sure it has the latest version of iOS, watchOS, or macOS. (d) Be signed in on your device with your Apple ID and use two-factor authentication. (e) If you have a freeze on your credit report, you need to temporarily lift the freeze to apply for Apple Card. (f) You might need to verify your identity with a Driver License or State-issued photo ID.

Yes. After you accept the offer, a hard inquiry will take place. The bureau might vary based on where you live, but for me it was TransUnion 👍

I just completed my 7 month of credit history. My credit score is above 700. I have two cards already in my name. However I keep getting denied. My income isn’t all that great because I am a college student straight out of high school and work part time. Any tips if I should wait for some time or anything to get accepted?

Well done on getting your journey started w/ a couple cards, 7 months of history, and a solid score! 😃👊📈 I've seen people get approved / denied for the Apple Card will all kinds of credit files - so much so that I have no idea what they're looking for 😂 Personally, I'd hold off for a bit longer until your average age of credit history is a full year. Then give it another go.

@@MarkReese thank you for your advice! The reason they gave me was “Your monthly debt obligations are too high given your income - examples may include loan or monthly housing payments”. I don’t have any loans or anything of that sort other than paying my credit cards monthly. Do you think the income I am putting is too low? I am putting the number that is on my W-2 but obviously my parents support me and give me money time to time. Should I include a reasonable income from my parents as well next time I apply? And if so, is it possible I can try again before waiting a full year of credit history?

@@mikeatstacos1232 - Ah got it! So basically here's what Goldman Sachs is saying: The amount of outstanding debt (on your 2 credit cards) is too high compared to your income level (and probably compared to your credit limits, too). The credit bureaus usually see your credit balance 1x per month, and the balance they see is usually the amount on your *statement close date.* So here's what I would do: (a) Identify when your statement close date is for each card (b) Make a payment several days _before_ the statement close date on each card so that the remaining balance is 1% - 9% of your total limit (c) Let each billing cycle close & wait for your statements; this will allow a much lower balance to be reported (d) Pay the rest of the balance off on each card before their respective *due dates* so you won't get charged any interest. (e) Repeat this for 2 months. (f) Reapply for the Apple Card 😃👍 Does all that make sense?
