Could you do a front crank oil seal replacement (or if you've done one can you point me in the right direction to find it please). My car is a 2003, 320i, E46, sedan. It's done 170,000 kms and is in very good condition throughout (apart from the front crank seal!). You do a great job putting these videos on line - it's greatly appreciated.

Ima call you “The e46 Man”....Please do a diy on that rear differential bushing! I believe that causes the driveshaft to wear. I had to replace my driveshaft. The rear end that connects to the diff, completely worn and tore off due to too much play. Thankx e46 man!

What a great video. Thanks On my 2004 X5, 3.0i, I have the blessed engine light on with following codes. Every time I erase and scan I get different codes. So far I've removed and cleaned the idle valve. The flapper does rattle but not continuously when I shake it. I have to hold it at a specific angle in my hand for to rattle. It was pretty gummed up but I soaked it in gasoline overnight and cleaned it thoroughly. Any insight will be much appreciated. Thanks, Scanner Foxwell for BMW: P1092 P0420 ............... Thank you so much Jason, i had X5 M54 engine it was a really nice car but it won't pass the smog, they said every thing is clean in the car but ecu is bad, then the AC stop working, we checked the compressor and the clutch not turning! we also change it with new compressor but still not turning!! so the the specialist said that computer not sending signal to the clutch,! so is there solution for bad computer? can you replace ecu? i hope to see more video about ecu problem thanks

E46ddie_ I solved idle issues by changing all vacuum hoses. Some of them literally turned into dust when I squeezed them. Very bad quality rubber.

Check water pump, coolant hoses, radiator, expansion tank, bleeder screw, Very lower coolant hose to heater core, (this one comes undone easily)

If there's a history of overheating it might be head gasket leaking. Check oil cap you might see some residue there.

My e46 5 speed manual transmission is stuck in 3rd and the shifter is just "floating" around. It's not connected to anything. I keep finding that it points to shift linkage problem. I don't understand this. Can you explain?
