great mnemonic. thanks 71 & never learned this, although logs weren't really taught 55 years ago. We did calc logs base 10 manually.

I didn’t see it this way. I never learned a memorization technique. I wanted log(b4) on both sides because then you can disregard the log(b4). So i converted 2 into its lob(b4) form. To do so, you have a base of 4 in the second order. This is 16. So: 2 = log(b4)16 log(b4)(3x-2) = log(b4)16 3x-2 = 16 x = 6

I just wish I understood how LOG tables are created. Like how do you calculate a number that’s raised to something other than a whole number?

refresh about logs log-base-a (n) = x means a^x=n so this problem log.4(3x-2)=2 means 4^2=3x-2? 16=3x-2 18=3x 6=x? verify log.4(14)=?2❌️ log.4(16)=?2 -------- loga(b)=[logc(b)]/[logc(a)] so log.4(16) = [log.10(16)]/[log10(4)] = 1.204/0.602 = 2.000✔️ = 1.903❌️ 2=♥️2✔️ thx for correction....
