An Atlanta helicopter mom proved that adage was true on Tuesday as she erupted in expletives at an elementary school awards ceremony after her son was snubbed in spite of his scholastic achievements.
“His report card says different,” spat the outraged mama bear as the school principal attempted to tame her outburst. “Pull that s-t up!”
Footage of the eye-popping exploit caught viral wildfire, gathering over 6 million TikTok views.
“You’re gonna single these mother f- -king kids out,” barked the unnamed woman, whose son is said to be in first grade.
Stunned parents and children were seen sitting silently in the auditorium, watching on in horror.
“Let’s go!” the mom yelled to her little one as they stormed out of the ceremony.
Shocked social media spectators sympathized with the woman’s son, leaving comments such as: “I can’t imagine how humiliating that must of been for that child,” and “He probably felt embarrassed.”

She is teaching her child that it is OK to start screaming and cussing if something doesn't go his way. Smh

@brandonjones5096 not even that, but this whole "everyone deserves a medal mindset is garbage. Giving everyone a medal to avoid "hurt feelings" just makes the medals pointless. You are correct as well, though lol

That's not a "helicopter" mom. That's a mom that feels like her and her child are entitled. Helicopter mom has NOTHING to do with this

Thank you for writing what she was saying. Couldn't understand much. And this was a first grade graduation ceremony?!? My kid is in first grade and at private school, but there is no graduation ceremony, and we get the grades all year. thankfully he is a smart kid and I barely look at what he does. feel sorry for the kid for the mother get that upset in the middle of a ceremony. Its weird a school would not mention a first grader for grades. Curious for more details.

This woman displays none of the behavior or language typically used by those referred to as "helicopter" mothers. She's very typical of those who go through life with an attitude of entitlement, though.

Allow me to interject possible mitigating thoughts, mothers often feel very passionately about their children, and feel they need to advocate for them. However, this often presents in unhealthy and inappropriate ways. Such as the case here. Perhaps this person was not taught how to express their feelings in a productive, professional manner.
@caries4970
@caries4970 4 ай бұрын
This is not being passionate about her child or wanting to advocate for her child, this is a woman who feels entitled and feels like her child should be entitled. If she was passionate about her child, she would have done this a different way and not embarrassed her child and used that kind of language in a room full of children. Maybe her child acts like she does and that's why he didn't get any awards. This was not being a passionate and caring mother.
@LeahMorrison-g4u

Perhaps this person was taught that she and her children are entitled to accolades they have not earned because of a dysfunctional culture that tells them constantly they are kings and queens, they should get awards for just showing up, and the world owes them something.

This is the result of the generation that was raised that EVERYONE gets a trophy...worst mistake ever made. No, trophies are for those that WORK HARD and ACHIEVE something... you don't get a trophy for "trying"...because that removes the value of a trophy that has been EARNED. Your kid wants a trophy... tell them to work hard and never give up. If you do not learn to lose, how can you learn to win. You LEARN from your mistakes and failures...and you keep learning and growing. That is the way it works....if someone gets one more point than you, they still win the game. Try harder next time!

As a kid who won many awards in school, I know the school sends out a letter to the parents notifying them of the award their kid is going to get. They don’t tell you to go to an award ceremony if your kid isn’t going to get one. If that was the case, I would understand her outrage if she was told her kid was gonna get one and didn’t.
@atomant1980

Going to award ceremonies teaches your children to be happy for their friends, and if they WORK HARDER, they too can earn an award. All she did was show us what her child will grow up to be: entitled brat and will more than likely grow up in and out of the Justice System and child services
