Explanation: (Pls pin) Okay so basically this is from the movie hunger games which is based on the book. The year before this scene Katniss (the girl with brown hair) volunteered at the reaping in place of her sister prim. (The reaping is where they chose the tributes for the games) During the games she “fell in love” with the blonde boy Peeta. There could only be one winner of the games but peeta and katniss both won after attempting to kill themselves. The president was mad about this so for the games for the next year he decided for the 75th hunger games (third quarter quell) should have the tributes be the previous victors. Explanation because so many people are confused lol: This is the reaping of the 75th hunger games. Katniss Everdeen, (the brunette girl) wants Peeta Mellark, (the guy who volunteered) to live. But if he volunteered, like he did, he would most likely die. So she’s sad about that, and also the fact that she has to go through the trauma of the games again. Hope this helps! :)

For anyone who doesnt know this is teh Hunger Games. Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen were in the lazt hunger games and they survived(there are no winners, just survivors) Katniss made a deal with Haymitch not to let Peeta die. Peeta made the same deal with Haymitch. Peeta said that he didnt need anyone during the games but Katniss needs him.

I just read the chapters of Catching fire before this passage and it was so heartbreaking when Haymitch finnaly seems to make sense, how he shows Katniss that this fear of loosing everyone and also fear of the Capitol and nightmares of that all never ever can stop. I just like the scene when Katniss finds by President Snow that everything is loosen, so she finally can reliefe and "enjoy" the moment because now she sees all the cards at the table. Why these series of books are so great we're all really heartbroken because I always don't know if I'm able to handle the real life again for a few days 😭😂😂😂.

For those who dont know... This movie is the Hunger Games, in the hubger games there are 12 districts where people live and there is a place called the capitol where rich people and the president live. Each year there is a bowl of names of every child 12 up to 18, one girl and one boy is picked from the bowl (this happens in every district) and these people are taken to the capitol to fight these other kids until one remains. In this particular scene, this is the second movie and those three people won the game, and a special games is made (if you read the books and watch the movie it will make more sense) and they have to take existing winners to the games to fight again. And here Peter sacrifices himself for Hamish (the older man) this is particularly a sad scene because Hamish and the girl (Katniss) wanted Peter to stay home and be safe. Ik this was so long but I hope it helped!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

She has a deep friendship, maybe even love for the blonde boy, and she is hoping he would not go with her. But the blonde boy loves her, and since his name wasn’t called and he is also a winner he has a chance to volunteer and override the vote, so he can be with her and fight in the games.

This is the movie “The Hunger Games” you have to be between the ages 12-18 I believe to be called. The white haired woman(Effie) draws random names and whoever is called must participate. Katniss and Peter were in the games before with Haymitch as their mentor. Usually they only have to participate once but in the first games they were in Katniss and Peeta fooled the government making them angry. There was a quarter quell where basically anyone (living) that participated and won in the games had to participate.
