What’s even more astounding is that when she was governor of Michigan she was the one to sign the new mining law (part 632 signed in 2004) regulating the non-ferrous metals mining industry (ie Eagle Mine and Nickel and Copper etc). It was written to regulate the Eagle Mine as it was the only non-ferrous metal mine in Michigan(still is for now). They lie to our faces and think we are stupid.

@@proned2stonedno it’s your companies stop trying to wash away the problem. The problem is lobbying. EVs are the future. America just backed the wrong horse and instead doubled down on ICE engines because of their massive oil companies that hold large amount of swaying power. Which isn’t the smartest. It’s like back in the day when people thought the horse and carriage would never go away for cars. Just plain odd. Now that China has built a massive renewable energy industry America is scared. But scientists had been telling yall start investing start making policy to grab the market early and they didn’t. Now Chinas is leaps and bounds ahead and America can’t compete. It also makes no sense why every vehicle should be capable of making electricity. It’s just plain wasteful. Batteries are much better, than having an engine to make fire and move turbines and then make electricity to them move your car.

@Blackdawn80 10 ай бұрын
The answer is simple. If we mine here in the US, suddenly EV batteries cost twice as much and that price hike will go directly to the consumer and then even less people will be able to afford one and this administration needs more people to adopt EV's so they can control their movement.

Yes this needs to be addressed if this is the case. Manufacturers need to be pulled down for actions like this. They already make money on the car sale. Raising the prices then the company has to open their books up so auditors can confirm the cost to produce rose that much. Do you know that when you charge your car the computer stays on and follows the temp So if it is cold while charging the car will run the heater on the battery If it is summer heat while charging the car will use the energy to cool the batteries Lol you did not know that did you? If you leave your ev car parked without charging in a week the car will lose many miles thanks to maintaining the battery life. Most ford and gm products are quite inconsistent in this respect. Yes, some of them, like yours, are good, but many others have transmission failures, and other catastrophic problems when they should be breaking in (like 70-100 thousand miles). Not like the Crown Vic, which was completely unbreakable, and many of the old mustangs from 2005 to 2010, which were outstanding. So I’d say about 2013 onwards is when they started to go to crap.

The ecosystem is not something we have any ability to meaningfully manipulate, once we break it we cannot fix it, and then we will all probably die a slow and humiliating death from starvation. All our infrastructure is built around thousands of years of stable agriculture due to a stable climate. The very reason we are able to progress as a society is because of our enduring infrastructure. The climate is changing dramatically in front of our eyes and you choose to ignore that its on you. @@Designarchi1 Yes he did embarrass himself. I’ve got relatives in Central Ohio who are very excited about the new $4B EV battery factory being built there by Honda. Why would we turn away this industry to be beaten by the rest of the world? So many the comments on this thread are purely ignorant.

@@FirstHillSeattle Talk about being ignorant. You absolutely missed his primary point. Did you even watch the video. Sure, it's nice that batteries will be assembled here in the US, but his point is, the resources needed are coming from elsewhere...and he used DRC as an example...where child slave labor runs rampant and 75% of the mines are owned by China. Those are not good things. The alternative is to mine some of the resources here in the US, where we can control the human and environmental concerns. This administration has chosen to ban mining for these resources. Some think that is a good thing...and some think that is a bad thing. That is where the debate lies. However, there are always consequences resulting from those decisions. In my opinion, we shouldn't be depending on child slave labor and Chinese companies to obtain the resources we are looking for.
