This is what happens when a forest is vulnerable after decades of drought, unusual heat, and a shift to a climate that doesn't suit the particular species of trees that live there. Canadian boreal forests are shifting to climates better suited to mixed/deciduous forest like further south. Forests are receding and burning all over the world, and have been for about a hundred years, more so recently. The last two years have also been the hottest years in recorded human history, this year by a larger margin than ever before. It doesn't take a genius to understand what is happening. We don't start more accidental fires than before, nor does lightning strike more often. The fires just have better fuel to burn.

We need a national forest fire fighting effort. Each highschool student 16 yrs and on has to go madatory service. Just like a army draft But this war is against forest fires

I'm 73 yrs old and I can remember that family vacation in the summer during the 1950s meant the possibility of "all able bodied men" from 16 up to retirement age, would be stopped on the Trans Can Highway thru Banff, Yoho, etc. and expected to help fight the fires for 4 hr shifts. My father and uncle were both proud to mention in vacation stories as years passed by, the family "legend" of their firefighting days...

The heat has caused the extreme dangerous condition, but the fires that are suspected of being human caused are generally reasonable conclusions. There is any number of reasons why an anti social person would be willing to set his (her) community on fire.
