President George W. Bush spoke the nation in a prime time address from the Oval Office on September 11, 2001 after hijackers commandeered four commercial airplanes and crashed them into the World Trade Center Towers in New York, the Pentagon outside Washington, D.C., and a Pennsylvania field, killing thousands. Here is Bush's address as it aired in full on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer that evening.
