Avalon is a beast. It's Lexus-like. People are just sleep on it. Plus you won't be one of the many many Camry's on the rode. Avalon makes you an individual. Hopefully Toyota keeps this beast alive.
@texan9033 жыл бұрын
Toyota failed to market this car. Instead of offering a V6 on the Camry, it should've been exclusive to the Avalon, so should AWD, and the styling on the Avalon shouldn't have been so polarizing and it could've survived at least a few years more.
@t.75273 жыл бұрын
@@texan903 I like that. Thanks for the reply. I agree some exclusivity to the Avalon would've been ace
@ChrisMathew-vi6nc10 ай бұрын
@@texan903 Nah it makes sense for them to remove it, what is the point of the Avalon when the Lexus ES exists? Same car granted the Avalon was cheaper but obviously that's not to Toyota's benefit, so they probably got rid of it so they're not competing within themselves.

Love your reviews. One thing I really want to mention about yourself/your reviews.... Your perspectives are accurate and your stay focused. So what I mean by that is... you understand what car, what segment, approx what type of drivers and owners you are talking to. Even after you have driven and reviewed much more exciting and powerful/fast cars, you stay in reality. You haven't become "jaded and spoiled" by super car performance. You still remember what is "good performance" for economy priced vehicles and/or everyday car buyer/owner experiences vs REAL driving-drivers and their opinions of driving/performance.

I'm humbled my friend thank you so much for the kind words Im just glad I could be of value. Yea you would be surprised, I typically enjoy the "normal" cars more I'm some cases than the high dollar stuff because normal cars have come a long way and over deliver for their respective class. There's only a handful of expensive cars that I actually deem is worth the price tag. Thanks again for your support.

It’s a great car for what it is. Personally, I prefer the Limited trim that really takes it up to ES level, however you’re at the Lexus price tag at that point. As I commented on the trailer photo my 2006 Avalon Limited is currently undergoing $3000 worth of repairs (which I know it’s barely worth that much but I love that car). I head up to Raleigh for work a lot too so if you ever want to have a drive of my 2006 Avalon Kevin let me know and I’ll drive it up there for you ;). However I usually take my 2020 Camry. Great sedan, I don't really understand why sedans are going out of style, but I am not young man, perhaps that's why I don't get it, I love them. Great car for the money, and the 3.5 motor in my opinion is a hall of fame motor. Interior is where the Lexus is worth the extra money, but for the money how do you go wrong. Keep em coming, your reviews are so good.

@AustinDashes3 жыл бұрын
@@wannabedal-adx458 I got really unlucky with mine. 2012 genesis 5.0. it's a bizarre car. Like I bought it last July with only 64k miles for $13500, not including TTL and the extended warranty I bought because I had a feeling I might need it. Should've done a pre-inspection. I had it delivered 500 miles away because they're rare cars where I live in Texas. The Hyundai dealer I went to the other day told me it's "normal" for the $2500 cruise control module to go out. Ok. It's also normal for basically all the other electronics to quit working too?? Also, the vehicles bounces up and down like a magic carpet ride on some pavement and the wheel will shake a bit. And then on other pavement there's no shaking, no bouncing.....my wheel isn't cockeyed either, no alignment issue. It's just a super weird car!! And the acceleration is so much that the car is constantly killing traction. I even have to turn traction off if I floor it from 80 because it will hesitate and ESC will go off. Turn ESC off and punch it and no problems. I think the last owner tried to make it a race car. I'll try to do some runs with the ESC fuse pulled to show YT just how stupid fast it is. It needs new rear tires too. They're bald. And the throttle body and fuel injectors need cleaning. And it STILL runs like a demon escaping the pit of hell! 🤣 My engine replacement and water pump cost $12k, covered by warranty and my invoice from the other day of "recommended services," which I respectfully declined, was $11k. Now I'm getting the car repainted so that's almost $2,000 because the paint was shot when I got it.

The V6 has been deleted in Australia, only made up 4% of sales. Sad.

I salute Toyota for making this so long! But this should have a Standard Sunroof Especially On XLE Trim😳

i believe the avalon touring is worth it as it’s got adaptive suspension and all the bells and whistles for a daily driver

I honestly wasn't expecting this car but it's always cool to hear your thoughts on it, I watched some vids on the trd version so it's cool that this isn't as bad as that

I currently own a 2016 Avalon. Previous owned a 1986 and a 1994 Camry. The Avalon is definitely a better car engine wise and interior wise. Wouldn't go back to a Camry. I would buy another Avalon or upgrade to a Lexus ES 350.

Agreed

2016-2018 Avalon was the only range I was looking at. Since I owned a 2016 Camry, I was looking for something, bigger, newer, more comfortable, and with fewer miles. I ended up with a 2017 Buick LaCrosse Premium with about 26K miles on it (11 months ago). Couldn't be happier!!

@@wannabedal-adx458 I own a 2016 Avalon Touring, but I have to say that the 2017 Buick LaCrosse Premium is pretty damn sexy!

I enjoy your reviews. However if you want to compare interior trim with the ES look at the Limited's plush quilted trim.

What’s up Kev would you rather have this or a Acura RLX
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
RLX is like 15k more than this of course I would take the RLX at that point

I'd honestly love to drive an Avalon for it's smoothness but I just can't justify the price, especially compared to a Lexus. I think I would just wait to buy a used one. One question though, you said that was an XLE but it doesn't have ventilated seats? I live in the south where it's extremely hot & humid so I'd like my next car to have that feature. If it doesn't then I guess my next choice will definitely be a Lexus
@MeynMotorGroup3 жыл бұрын
Yea this is a base model XLE so no cooled seats need to go up in trim to get that idk exactly which trim offers it

This is still competitive against the Lexus. Optioned out, this can be had for $40-42k, about where comparable Lexus' begin, and go up to $50k. Overall cost of ownership is lower than Lexus.
