I love seeing the success you've made this year, man. You don't try to pose as an extroverted character to gain engagement and I appreciate that about you. I started my color grading business this year and have been going through some lows so it was an on-time message to hear your words of encouragement. May 2025 open doors we've prepared for in 2024!

This is honestly exactly what I needed to hear. The habit of crushing 365 days into 1 thought of either GOOD or BAD is so close minded. This year, I am going to truly live 1 day at a time and focus on being the best version of me that I can offer. Last year brought me the start of a family with the birth of my daughter and I want nothing more than for her to grow up and see the effort I put in each day. Whether that be at work, or spending quality time at home - Life is for living. So, thanks for this video. It's given me a nice reset I felt I needed after a hectic 2024 where I put a lot of pressure on myself. I truly wish you the best this year and I can't wait to see what you create!

I really appreciate your insights on stuff like this. As a filmmaker myself, yeah there are doors I want to be open now, but instead of being frustrated they aren't open its to be patient knowing that I am making the steps forward. So when that door does open I'm ready to run through and start the next journey it will have me on. Hoping you have a great new years man - thanks for making a small corner of the internet a welcome and restful place.

Thanks for this man, been in a weird spot with my career lately. Been in LA for 9 months and I've been doing really well, learning a lot and getting experience on bigger sets but the work isn't consistent enough to support myself yet. I've been trying to figure out what I've been missing and think I'm still headed in the right direction, but the biggest thing I've realized is that you don't have to be in LA to be successful in this industry. This was hard to accept at first because moving from a small town, LA was the end all be all however, things have changed drastically in the past few years which has allowed many filmmakers and creatives to have successful careers anywhere in the world. I might have to move away in 2025 which at first felt like I failed, but I really see it as an opportunity to expand my reach to another city and unlock some new doors I haven't even seen yet.

Thanks @gian, I've been a student of both your craft and teachings for the last 2 years, I barely comment on videos but his one is special, I say this with a deep level of respect and gratitude for your content. As a filmmaker coming up in the game, the relatability of your content to how the game is offers a great platform to keep one going. Thanks for your healing approach, very much needed it. Thank you, simply for all you do👊🏽

This resonated with me so much - it's my second year as a full time DP and photographer. I'm so blessed to do what I do every day with people that I love... but still find myself comparing to people who have been doing this for a literal decade longer than me; that's not fair to my clients, friends, family or myself. Thanks for the perspective, brother! Cheers to 2025!

I heard a quote a while back that has helped me through tough times. It goes "A bad day does not equal a bad life". Yes, there were a lot of crappy days, weeks, months, whatever throughout this year, but to me, that doesn't mean it's a bad year, they were just bad times which is normal. Really looking forward to the new year. Excited to see where we all go next!

Damn, I watched this in 2025🥲 Kidding, of course, Happy New Year Gian and I hope 2025 contains less anxiety and more good vibes man! Also, like you kinda mentioned, taking an entire year of experiences and isolating them into one thing like "This Year", does kinda diminish 365 individual experiences and multiple achievements into just a singular experience. We should reverse that.

Great message, I personally have to lean into the critique. My ritual is to take note of all the negatives and then reframe them as positives. I think your net worth is defined by your network, however if you’re incapable then you’ll diminish yourself to swim in smaller ponds. If we shy away from our faults we will continually shrink, if all we focus on is the victims mindset then we need to be as kind to ourselves as we are to others

Well bro, i have been following your videos for a long time and i very rarely comment on someones video but this topic hits at the center cause i am facing that challenges right now. And for all guys in the filmmaking community i wish you prosperity and good health in this 2025 year. I think we need to support each other cause filmmaking is not about going solo its about collaborating and creating together. Cheers

carlo you’ve helped me change my mindset so much recently, i’ve been watching every single video of yours in the past 2-3 years and you’ve helped me with pursuing my dream in film while staying positive, mentally strong and everything. Do you have any overall tips as a young filmmaker at 17 y/o? Thank you for being amazing :)
@carlostigs18 күн бұрын
Hey Jamie! Thanks for the kind words. My only advice to is to continue your journey and not give up. You’re super young. So take in as much information, knowledge and experience as possible. Study what you want to pursue in this industry learn about other filmmakers in the space, practice however you can, start creating and sharing work esrly

Thank you very much for the advice, i’ve struggled to find someone who’s videos and advice truly helps me and ever since i’ve found your channel and danny’s too i’ve been so motivated to get into the industry. I’ll remind myself of your advice and do my best at everything!

I was reading Proverbs in the Bible and I came across this verse: "Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And he who hurries his footsteps errs." Proverbs 19:2 I realized recently that I wasn't where I wanted to be yet. I think the second part of this verse really helped me with that. I believe I'm on the path God wants me to be on, but it will happen in His timing, not mine.

Definitely needed to hear this. I’ve spent the last few years becoming financially sound. I had to step away from the art I really wanted to make. And I didn’t think sharing my story of sobriety wasn’t worth sharing. Both of those things are going to come to light in this new year God willing. Bless you brother
