Watch this before buying a KONTIKI part 1

Today I team up with BERSERKER ADVENTURES to do a Kontiki video. while we in NZ level 3 this location was not the best place for it, but it was local. what happen today was a little different from what I see on the TV, however we will try again at a later date with a different location to see how effective it is to catch fish and I can decided if I myself should get one.

Make sure your shackle on the back is in the right hole to allow for cross tide and wind, holding the line tight or firm to help keep the kontiki on track as it goes through the breakers helps too, I don’t even use my rudder as it broke I find I can guide the kontiki by slightly pulling the back end either way with the mainline

I would rather make my own Kontiki keep it kiwi. Rod and reel is my preferred means of fishing and feeling the fish fight which is the best part of fishing for me. Cool video though.

Yeah they had about 3-4 spare battery that day all charge up and ready to go. It's was just to rough at that time. They said around 6am was completely flat. But can't control what nature does.

Yeah I think the guys leave it out there for about half an hour to one hour once it's out there.

Need a verbal contract before I can film people in public🤣 The family in the white ute hade the seahorse I knew you guys hade the fish harvester but while filming the family with the seahorse was to far out of frame. How did you get on that day? did you manage to get it out and catch something?

@@selfreliancelife9133 yep got it out, apologies thought you were meaning ours was sea horse as that's my hubby pulling the trolley, us picnicking on beach and our one in shot on water. It's a tough surf to navigate and ruthless coast for fishing & diving. Most of the time we're winging it 😂👌 Have fun!

It can be used as sea scooter? I think Trolling motor can pull a men. 30 lbs thrusts must be enough.

That was real life, loved it..you can learn to find holes and rip's. A very good thing to teach kid's how to find them to avoid swimming in them, great fishing for the same reason humans drown in them...fast moving water heading out away from beach..fantastic fishing..look for gap in breaking wave as it drops into the hole or gutter..

@@selfreliancelife9133 Just remember waves come in sets of 7..so scan a beach section for only a few minutes, then move along, in a 4X4 or Quad you spot the holes very easy with practice..& on all beaches dress for wading out,,some are very shallow and then boom a gutter holding feeding monsters..I start on squid/pilchard's but switch to fresh caught Kahawai to nail the Snapper, a slider is the bomb with live bait's..throw out a grapple sinker set in sand then slide a live bait out to it...

Every meter there's a stop that gets clamp to the line, the bros put a hook on every 3 meters so they got enough room between each hooks.

I dont know about these guys but I was the original designer of the powertiki its pretty simple every second gap in the crimps you have no trace so traces can't touch

Mean video. I have done quite a bit of beach fishing never used one of those kontiki before. To expensive we just do the budget version and I kayak the bates out through the surf.

Nothing wrong with kontikis it's just because your one is the one you shouldn't buy .For less than 3k you could have brought better or proper unit .

Conrad meier fish harvesters have the worst reviews and reliability rating in NZ. Seahorse, predator, kentiki, power tiki and bullet are Al good kontikis, the have the power and are made out of proper components.
