I’ve got the Extreme Tour but unfortunately it is under spec by 6 grams and too headlight so it turned out to have even less power than my blade 98 v8. After customising with lead and leather grip, it is now back on par with slightly more pop than the blade but it still have the balance issue which I’m adjusting to.

Sorry I’m a bit late to the party. And excuse me if this is too long. I personally use the Blade 98 16x19 V9. It has more power than the Prestige MP but it’s certainly not anything too incremental. Spin is probably a bit worse on the Blade, but it depends if you hit more flat or with spin. The control is also more modern instead of classical. If you’re looking for something a bit more powerful, I would look at the Radical MP, but if I were you, I would go with the Blade if you’re strictly looking for 98sq inch rackets. If you want something similar to the Prestige MP that isn’t a 98sq inch racket, whilst also being more powerful, definitely check out the Pro Staff 97.

Thank you for your great content
@tantennis
@tantennis Жыл бұрын
I have both v7 and v8. I think v7 is softer for sure but somewhat dampened and muted. v8 is more firm and I think it plays firmer than the stiffness rating on the paper, but I feel more connection to the ball, pretty food feel. Things you have to be aware of is that v8 in general has much lower SW than v7, so people could say it has less plow, but on that you can just add lead at 12 to solve it.

Hi, it seems like you and me have the same situation with the lack of spin on the Blade v8. Although I ended up buying TFight 315, I really consider buying a Babolat PA98 because it plays really well with my game, topspin forehand, helps with pops on my backhand. On the attack I think the PA98 wins. Extreme tour has easy power but I feel like my opponent can get to all the balls from me, it lacks some plow and doesn’t generate heavy ball as much. Need some lead but I don’t want to add that because I already like its light weight. Another thing is I think the Extreme Tour could work better with compact whippy swing. PA98 needs a bit more bigger swing.

- Will try OHBH on Vcore 98 more seriously and get back to you. - Thanks for the compliment, this is what I got so far trying to copy Federer’s forehand, still in progress. - I have played with six.one 100 v13 for some times, not a fan seriously. It doesn’t feel like a pro staff. The frame doesn’t work well for modern forehand, very little spin potential. Better going with PSX if you want a pro staff feel with bigger head.

@@tantennis I just binge watched most of your vids Tan. Answered a lot of my questions thanks! Re forehand improvement. My forehand currently look shockingly similar to your old forehand with spiny short back swing, and I am trying to extend my take back. It is feeling much better. Also, have you had much experience with the Prince phantom line? They feel quite similar to gravity pro to me. Soft, thin beam, good stability. Good plough after adding weight at the top.

I’m trying to switch to a 98 sq in racket from the aero pro drive GT 100 sq in 300gr (the 2013 version). I’m considering the blade 98, but do you have any other recommendations?

You will lose spin significantly. Extreme Tour or PA98 or even Ezone 98 would be easier for transition.

@@tantennis thanks! Would the PA98 feel similar to the Aero Pro Drive GT? I indeed can feel the spin, but i feel like it lacks control and feel. I also love the maneuverability of a thin beam racket like pure drive 2021.

You seem to be using different strings when using each of the rackets. How can you give a fair judgment when using different strings per racket? Strings have arguably a bigger difference when playing than the racket stock.

I reckon that you have tried the Vcore95 (and turned into shapovalov for the session). Would you say that the vcore98 be a lot easier to hit (more forgiving, etc) than the vcore95 for the 2023 version krub? Or do you feel that these 2 are very similar?
@tantennis
@tantennis Жыл бұрын
Easier in terms of forgiveness krub. Doesn’t need perfect timing and accuracy. Can hit late on some shots. It’s also give extra power than 95. On the spin I don’t feel that much different. But overall control and on the attack, 95 is for the win.

I don't understand why you are using solinco confidential with the radical mp, it's a control string, which gives less power that's why all things equal it has less power potential than the other rackets you tested...

I also use confidential on Extreme tour and Pure Aero 98. So that’s pretty fair tho for a 98 that’s not super control oriented.
