Ordered 2023 Carrera S 992.1 to be delivered soon. Most of you could not have guessed how expensive it is in Thailand. Anyway, glad to hear that many features have been improved over the 991: stiffer suspensions, bigger rear wheels in fatter well, engine has been moved 6.6 inches forward,etc. The new engine position should improve car balance substantially.

The 991 is very hard to beat no doubt, and styling wise it's definitely different from the 992. But give a 992 a test drive, it's much much better in real life. I thought it was too bloated too before seeing one in the flesh, and it's not big at all.

I love Porsche, but for the cost of a new 992 I can have a rather super dooper 2 storey extension! It's okay for those on a multiple 6 figure salary but for other 99% of us there is little to no chance. There's always the stupid tax thou!

The 991 was/is too big, the 992 is even bigger. These cars are now getting too large to hurl down a tight B road. So its larger than a 991 which everybody said was too big and now its 50kg heavier (according to press releases), remember this is also without options, which will add even more weight. More nanny state driver aids and tech that nobody needs or particular wants. Porsche cover this blandness by adding more power and electronic aids. Newer doesn't necessarily mean better but we as consumers are brainwashed in to thinking so. Wet mode WTF!!! If it was my money i'd be looking at a GENII 997 GT3 Clubsport. Plenty on Pistonheads around the 80-100k mark. :)

Mark Duffy the Vantage was testament to that. 505 or so bhp, got there stupidly quick, but it was just like pushing a button and no real ‘experience’ which is why porsche owners live Porsche. The biggest worry for me on the 991 gt3 is the engine exploding and when the warranty is up your up shit creak. Maybe I should just be happy with what I’ve got. They both put a smile on my face. BTW.... 200 cell cat Carnewal headers have arrived 😁

@@alsatch_ Well, it can be a mistake to chase figures and in the real world would a 992 be much faster cross country in our hands, I doubt it. Maybe in a racing drivers hands it would be but we are not racing drivers, we are the limiting factor in our cars. We've done the runs with much more powerful cars and had no issues keeping up. It's all about the feel and the smile on your face. At the end of the day we own Porkers, just the right side the analogue ones. 😁

I am thinking as you.. I spected the 992 4s (PLAHBZB7) and ended at £130k... with that you can buy a Amg Gt-R or a Maclaren 540c or a Gt3. The thing is that that will be my daily. So I need to find a balance between a fast car and usability. IDK what to do. I also need to consider selling the car that I buy in 4 years more or less, so I need to consider market price after that. What are your thoughts. Nice video by the way.💥

I would go for the 992 just to have the latest and greatest. Any C4S models will always hold its value. GT3 are track oriented if you are in to that.

On the 992 show cars recently seen, the black shiny panel just above the engine cover was already scratched and is likely to end up looking a mess of swirls, not good, I'd advise ppf film. The rear of the convertible looks very bulbous, otherwise a beautifully engineered car which i will no doubt feature and possibly buy.

992 is my favorite since the 1990s models (993 and also the 964). All the ones since then just haven't been as stunning to look at (save the GT models) those 90s ones. But this 992... Yes sir. I'm all in. Just enough changes make it modern and flawless looking to my eyes. Love it. Haven't even watched the video yet I'm just that excited about it lol. Let's go!

Test Drive Scotland exactly the same size as a 991 4S or GTS or GT3. So no bigger than the wide hipped outgoing models. Oh it’s 20mm longer.

dude awesome video. but, gt3 vs a 992? lets see... filter on the 992 that has neutered the startup sound, and 992 is still just a plain old 911, with a low red line, and some turbo sounds, all insulated from the outside world, a dime a dozen on the roads. GT3 on the other hand will hold its value better than any 992 you can buy, 9k redline (!), little sound insulation, and about the best manual transmission ever made. no comparison whatsoever simply in my opinion. do i want a Flacht built race car, or a nice looking sports car. this isnt a horsepower and whats it cost me comparison. the GT3 experience is on another level.

I had a 991-1 turbo a couple of years ago awesome, back pinning exhilaration with its 520hp. Now, similar to you, but my choice is slightly different I'm looking at a pre-owned 991-2 turbo s with its 580hp or a new 992 c4s spec'ed up will be around the same money. The thing with the Turbo s would be possibly a quicker availability I'm not sure of the order time for the 992 but isn't it around 9 months?

It would cost me 50k US to trade up to a 992S . I went and looked at the 992 many times. Then i look at my 991.2 and say mine looks just as good with only 13k miles ! NOPE. Low milage , CPO 991.2 is the way to go, i think.

No expert but these 2 cars are ,2 totally different animals, the gt3 ,to me is a all out sports car , made and designed to cut and rip throught the conners etc , the 992 , is a more refined comfort and still very fast car I would imagine , it will have all the creature comforts etc , more then a gt3 I imagine!!! Depends on what u are really after , I dont know , the boy racer has never left the system lol😂😂😂, for that reason alone it would be the gt3 for me lol, but rhe 992 is much nicer to look at if thst makes sense , and aint going to be slow , but u have the cayman to trash around a track etc. , so fuck it spoil your self mate , go for the 992, only thing now !!#what colour !!!!
