Nice video man !! I was wondering given the information that you mention in the video if the path of working as a specialist on Switzerland is more easy by doing the residence in Germany and then going to Swiss 🧐

Hello! I'm a Portuguese Medical student going in April to Berlim charité for Erasmus. Where would you draw the line between the specialties that are "easy" to do the residency in Switzerland and the ones you recommend doing in Germany? For example, in your case, anesthesia are you regretted that you moved to Switzerland?, or for example, if at the beginning you wanted orthopedics ... Those "medium competitive specialties" you would recommend doing in Switzerland but those "high competitive", dermatology, ophthalmology, and Plastic surgery you would recommend doing those in Germany? (I'm giving these examples because the system in Portugal is the same as in Spain and those are the hardest ones to pick due to the lifestyle and good pay but not sure if the same applies to Switzerland) I'm currently in the middle of the 4th year and in February I'm starting to apply for Famulatur in my 6th year for different rotations for swiss hospitals to get more experience in the country, in the summer I'm planning on sending the real applications to do the residency after medical school. Is it too early? Thank you for your videos and your transparency on every topic! Wish you the best :)) Tomás

Hello ! What about in Germany? Is there no guarantee that you become a specialist by doing the necessary years like in Switzerland as well?

As I said, accumulating a number of years is only ONE OF MANY requirements to become a specialist.

In this case wouldn’t it be better for someone who wants dermatology for example to complete his training in Germany first, recognize his specialty degree and then move to Switzerland and start working as a specialist ? & Thank you for the great video ❤
