Lived on Kauai my entire life, I take my dog here alot, pretty elementary hike, if you pay attention to your surroundings. Locals live by respect, thank you so much for explaining the importance of that❤🤙🏼

Aloha Brian! THANK YOU SO MUCH for recognizing that education and showing respect was the intent of this video. We are starting to feel like that point was lost on some people. We all know that people (residents and visitors) are not going to stop going to this place...unless of course it is completely shut off to everyone like Kipu Falls. We don't want to see that happen to this area as I'm sure you don't either. We truly appreciate your positive feedback. Thank you for watching!!

I know this Hawaiian and his beautiful wife personally. As you see them on video is exactly how they are in real life, genuine to the bone. Always reminding us that all of Kauai needs to be loved and respected, NOT just from visitors but from us Locals and transplants as well.

Wonderful video! "Pack it in, pack it out." People who spend time on Kauai, visit the beaches, know that you park on the sides of roads and walk down paths to get to most beaches. •Tunnels •Secrets •Queens Bath So please be mindful. WG, Yes for sure this hike can get difficult especially after some rains. Of course the day we filmed we hadn’t had rain up there in over 48hrs and there wasn’t as many people as would typically be there that time of day. Nicely done you guys. Unfortunately there’s a BUT... I live in this neighborhood... and I’m all for everyone getting to experience the beauty and high vibe healing of Mama Kauai... you guys obviously went early before the crowds arrived. The literally (multiple) hundreds of people who visit this once quiet neighborhood and falls every day have had quite an extreme impact. Ask the firefighters, EMS personnel and helicopter pilots who routinely have to rescue injured hikers here... and yes... some of them DON’T make it... as in FATALITIES... there ARE large rocks hidden under the water right where you’re thinking about jumping in. Also ask the people who live in this neighborhood... and have to deal with the trash, noise, traffic & bug and mosquito spray being sprayed in their front yards all day every day... which end up in a thick layer floating on the water by late morning. Ask the property owner(s) who have to deal with people ignoring signs and/or getting lost and wandering onto their property several times a day. Ask the people who strap their babies onto them or the elderly or infirm who go down there after a good rain not realizing how steep, slippery and dangerous parts of the trail are and end up having a miserable experience at best. Ask the people who show up mid day... not to find the serene scene portrayed in this video... but paths & rocks strewn with people, towels, backpacks etc... ruining the view & most photo ops you might have been hoping for. This is not a state approved, maintained trail. This is just another sad example of how overpopulation, social media exposure & poorly managed tourism are negatively impacting that which should be honored, respected, cared for and protected. 😢

Aloha BJ! Thank you for watching. It really is so shocking how much disregard people have. And let me take this opportunity to point out that it is not just tourists. We saw plenty of residents not doing the right thing while we were there. In fact, the noisy people that Brodi motions to when he was talking about "being quiet" were Kaua'i residents. We are just hoping that this video will help to remind everyone that these areas are special and not to be taken for granted. A reminder to behave like we would if we were in our own neighborhoods.

I heard about this channel from the helicopter tour. I went earlier today and it was fantastic, possibly the most exciting thing I’ve ever done or seen. I remember this channel being mentioned but I might I’m in the wrong place. Regardless, the tour exceeded my expectations by a landslide. The thing which makes Kauai different from the other islands I’ve been to is that there’s so much more to do besides just swimming and staring at fish. This is thanks to the integrity of the natural state of the island and the beauty it protects: the mystery which is enclosed in the dense vegetation, fog, and the sky-reaching fingers of stone which guard the valleys and the heart of the island. I wish Kauai could stay as it is, but I guess it would be ridiculous to expect everything of beauty to stay the same forever. Mahalo.

Thank you for your etiquette within your videos. I’ve been to Kauai 6 times, first in 2005 and last 2015. I was appalled at the number of tourists snd the lack of respect they showed the land. Frankly, I was ashamed. I had read in the Garden Island paper (which I read everyday) that this waterfall had been closed because of the trash tourists were leaving behind. Glad that it has reopened now if we can just show the area the respect it deserves.

Aloha Michael. We were asked by a friend who lives in this neighborhood to make this video to EDUCATE visitors about how to visit with RESPECT for the people and the land. We are not showing people how to go to this waterfall. The blue book created this issue. People (residents and visitors) are not going to stop visiting this place but they do need to be informed on how to have respect. That’s all we are trying to share.
