I’ll add this to my workflow for sure. One thing for marking the export area. While playback is stopped, you can click the first marker, then hold shift and click the end marker. Thus you doesn’t have to bother to zoom in and exactly hit that marker. But anyway I learnt a lot of you and now I’m independently earning enough money to live of my craft. I recently quit my job due to that success. Love from Berlin, Germany

This was much needed, thanks. Quick question: do you apply your mastering chain to all of the tracks universally (like on the master bus of the session), then bounce each song individually? Or does each song get its own mastering chain?

So when doing the transition technique you showed do you decide how you want the songs to transition first? or do you space the tracks out first and make the transition length based on that? if that makes sense
@dagr8s815
@dagr8s815 Жыл бұрын
IMO do the transition first you can always drag the next song to the exact location/ start time you want once you know how long that transition is going to be

I have some questions: So say I have all my records mixed and ready for mastering. When I bring all of those records into a new session to add any soundbites or transitions; am I adding more saturation to that new session so that the soundbites/transitions get the same treatment as my records? Or am I just adding more saturation on top of what was added in my original mixes? How do you get those soundbites and transitions to match the quality of your mixes without adding more saturation/buss processing. Bc wouldn’t that distort the mixes in a new session? I’ve always wondered, and I hope I’m making sense!

Hi Devvon, have you had any issues at the cutoff point in between songs where there may be clicks? when i referenced metro boomin superhero villain album, i noticed there was like milliseconds of space in between. Wanted to get your take?
@jonesnyirenda
@jonesnyirenda Жыл бұрын
Nice video. Just a quick question. Does the temple of the session matter? Or maybe there is a need to automate the tempo to match the tracks so the FX that you add can fit in nicely? Is the tempo really important in this case?
@LilAngL
@LilAngL Жыл бұрын
Hi my friend, tempo is important in a song and for you to stick to one tempo is more important. You don't want your song to go slow then fast. I personally consider music to be space and time. You also have to think about the future of it in your song. For example, when I know that I want delay throws in my song every other bar I plan for this in my production. When I am still writing the song. This is not something that you want to really fix in a mix because again music is time and space. Once you decide to cram things up later in the mix it won't sound as good. Tempo, time, and space is also a reason why I think music tends to sound muddy. Specially with reverb. Even if you have a timed reverb, but if your vocals are off grid it will still sound muddy. If you work with vocals, make sure your vocals are aligned to the grid as tight as possible. Again because music is time and space.
@jonesnyirenda
@jonesnyirenda Жыл бұрын
@@LilAngL Yeah I'm aware of the importance of tempo during the production & mixing stage. On the mastering side especially when you mastering more than one track in the same session, is tempo a huge factor when mastering? most times we rarely apply time-based tweaks during mastering
@LilAngL
@LilAngL Жыл бұрын
Tempo is important throughout the whole process of the song making. @@jonesnyirenda If you started writing a song at 120 BPM, your master will need to be 120 BPM. You can use time base Fx to change the feeling of things, but stick to just one tempo throughout.
@HelpMeDevvon

Question! When working in this layout, would the tracks need to be the final mixes and work the entire Master for all of them then & there, or maybe do the initial stages of the Masters individually to then bounce and finish using this layout mostly to adjust volume and final compressions etc?
@SevanGuitars

Ok! So it seems that you do master the tracks in their individual sessions, but you look at mastering the album in a different way then that?! I’ll be looking forward to the technical details of this, cuz you said you brought the mixes into this sessions, but did these already go through a mastering process for the tracks to be ready for DSPs individually?! Great info!
